Psalms 82

1 A Psalme committed to Aspah. God standeth in the assemblie of gods: hee iudgeth among gods.

আসফের গীত। ঈশ্বর মহাসভায় নিজের স্থান গ্রহণ করেছেন; তিনি “দেবতাদের” মাঝে বিচার সম্পন্ন করেন:

2 How long wil ye iudge vniustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? (Selah)

কত কাল তুমি যারা অসৎ তাদের পক্ষ নেবে আর দুষ্টদের পক্ষপাতিত্ব করবে?

3 Doe right to the poore and fatherlesse: doe iustice to the poore and needie.

যারা দুর্বল আর অনাথ তাদের প্রতি তুমি সুবিচার করো, যারা দরিদ্র আর পীড়িত তাদের অধিকার রক্ষা করো।

4 Deliuer the poore and needie: saue them from the hand of the wicked.

যারা দুর্বল আর অভাবী তাদের মুক্ত করো; দুষ্টদের দেশ থেকে তাদের উদ্ধার করো।

5 They knowe not and vnderstand nothing: they walke in darkenes, albeit all the foundations of the earth be mooued.

“সেই ‘দেবতারা’ কিছুই জানে না, তারা কিছুই বোঝে না তারা অন্ধকারে হেঁটে বেড়ায়; আর জগতের ভিত্তি কেঁপে ওঠে।

6 I haue said, Ye are gods, and ye all are children of the most High.

“আমি বলি, ‘তোমরা “ঈশ্বর” তোমরা সবাই পরাৎপরের সন্তান।’

7 But ye shall die as a man, and yee princes, shall fall like others.

কিন্তু সামান্য মানুষের মতো তোমাদের মৃত্যু হবে; অন্যান্য সব শাসকের মতো তোমাদেরও পতন হবে।”

8 O God, arise, therefore iudge thou the earth: for thou shalt inherite all nations.

ওঠো, হে ঈশ্বর, এই জগতের বিচার করো, কারণ সমস্ত জাতি তোমার উত্তরাধিকার।
