Psalms 8

1 To him that excelleth on Gittith. A Psalme of Dauid. O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy Name in all the worlde! which hast set thy glory aboue the heauens.

ପ୍ରଧାନ ବାଦ୍ୟକର ନିମନ୍ତେ ଗିତ୍ତୀତ୍‍ ସ୍ୱରରେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଗୀତ। ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଭୋ, ସମୁଦାୟ ପୃଥିବୀରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ନାମ କିପରି ମହିମାନ୍ୱିତ! ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆକାଶମଣ୍ଡଳ ଉପରେ ଆପଣା ଗୌରବ ସ୍ଥାପନ କରିଅଛ।

2 Out of the mouth of babes and suckelings hast thou ordeined strength, because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemie and the auenger.

ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଶତ୍ରୁ ଓ ପ୍ରତିହିଂସକକୁ ଦମନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆପଣା ବିପକ୍ଷଗଣ ସକାଶୁ ଶିଶୁ ଓ ଦୁଗ୍ଧପୋଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମୁଖରୁ ପରାକ୍ରମ ପ୍ରତିପନ୍ନ କରିଅଛ।

3 When I beholde thine heauens, euen the workes of thy fingers, the moone and the starres which thou hast ordeined,

ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଅଙ୍ଗୁଳିକୃତ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଆକାଶମଣ୍ଡଳ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ନିରୂପିତ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ର ଓ ନକ୍ଷତ୍ରଗଣକୁ ବିବେଚନା କଲେ (କହେ, )

4 What is man, say I, that thou art mindefull of him? and the sonne of man, that thou visitest him?

ମନୁଷ୍ୟ କିଏ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ବିଷୟରେ ମନୋଯୋଗୀ ହେଉଅଛ? ଓ ମାନବଜାତି କିଏ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ତତ୍ତ୍ୱାବଧାନ କରୁଅଛ?

5 For thou hast made him a little lower then God, and crowned him with glory and worship.

ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହାକୁ ଦୂତଗଣଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଅଳ୍ପମାତ୍ର ନ୍ୟୂନ କରିଅଛ, ଆଉ ଗୌରବ ଓ ସମ୍ଭ୍ରମରୂପ ମୁକୁଟରେ ତାହାକୁ ଭୂଷିତ କରୁଅଛ।

6 Thou hast made him to haue dominion in the workes of thine hands: thou hast put all things vnder his feete:

ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତକୃତ ସକଳ କର୍ମ ଉପରେ ତାହାକୁ କର୍ତ୍ତୃତ୍ୱ ଦେଇଅଛ; ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହାର ପଦ ତଳେ ସମୁଦାୟ ବିଷୟ ରଖିଅଛ;

7 All sheepe and oxen: yea, and the beastes of the fielde:

ଗୋମେଷାଦିସକଳ, ହଁ, ବନ୍ୟ ପଶୁଗଣ;

8 The foules of the ayre, and the fish of the sea, and that which passeth through the paths of the seas.

ଆକାଶର ପକ୍ଷୀଗଣ ଓ ସମୁଦ୍ରର ମତ୍ସ୍ୟଗଣ, ସମୁଦ୍ରପଥଗାମୀ ସକଳ ହିଁ ରଖିଅଛ।

9 O Lord our Lord, howe excellent is thy Name in all the world!

ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରଭୋ, ସମୁଦାୟ ପୃଥିବୀରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ନାମ କିପରି ମହିମାନ୍ୱିତ।
