Psalms 8

1 To him that excelleth on Gittith. A Psalme of Dauid. O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy Name in all the worlde! which hast set thy glory aboue the heauens.

संगीत निर्देशक के लिये. गित्तीथ पर आधारित. दावीद का एक स्तोत्र. याहवेह, हमारे प्रभु, समस्त पृथ्वी पर कितना तेजमय है आपका नाम! स्वर्ग पर आपने अपने वैभव को प्रदर्शित किया है.

2 Out of the mouth of babes and suckelings hast thou ordeined strength, because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemie and the auenger.

आपने अपने शत्रुओं के कारण बालकों एवं शिशुओं के मुख से अपना बल बसा लिया, कि आपके विरोधियों तथा शत्रु का अंत हो जाए.

3 When I beholde thine heauens, euen the workes of thy fingers, the moone and the starres which thou hast ordeined,

जब मैं आपकी उंगलियों, द्वारा रचा आकाश, चंद्रमा और नक्षत्रों को, जिन्हें आपने यथास्थान पर स्थापित किया, देखता हूं,

4 What is man, say I, that thou art mindefull of him? and the sonne of man, that thou visitest him?

तब मैं विचार करता हूं: मनुष्य है ही क्या, कि आप उसकी ओर ध्यान दें? क्या विशेषता है मानव में कि आप उसके विषय में विचार भी करें?

5 For thou hast made him a little lower then God, and crowned him with glory and worship.

आपने मनुष्य को सम्मान और वैभव का मुकुट पहनाया, क्योंकि आपने उसे स्वर्गदूतों से थोड़ा ही कम बनाया है.

6 Thou hast made him to haue dominion in the workes of thine hands: thou hast put all things vnder his feete:

आपने उसे अपनी सृष्टि का प्रशासक बनाया; आपने सभी कुछ उसके अधिकार में दे दिया:

7 All sheepe and oxen: yea, and the beastes of the fielde:

भेड़-बकरी, गाय-बैल, तथा वन्य पशु,

8 The foules of the ayre, and the fish of the sea, and that which passeth through the paths of the seas.

आकाश के पक्षी, एवं समुद्र की मछलियां, तथा समुद्री धाराओं में चलते फिरते सभी जलचर भी.

9 O Lord our Lord, howe excellent is thy Name in all the world!

याहवेह, हमारे प्रभु, समस्त पृथ्वी पर कितना तेजमय है आपका नाम!
