Psalms 79
1 A Psalme committed to Asaph. O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance: thine holy Temple haue they defiled, and made Ierusalem heapes of stones.
«Ψαλμός του Ασάφ.» Θεέ, ήλθον έθνη εις την κληρονομίαν σου· εμίαναν τον ναόν τον άγιόν σου· κατέστησαν την Ιερουσαλήμ εις σωρούς ερειπίων·
2 The dead bodies of thy seruats haue they giuen to be meat vnto foules of ye heauen: and the flesh of thy Saintes vnto the beastes of the earth.
έδωκαν τα πτώματα των δούλων σου βρώσιν εις τα πετεινά του ουρανού, την σάρκα των οσίων σου εις τα θηρία της γης.
3 Their blood haue they shead like waters rounde about Ierusalem, and there was none to burie them.
Εξέχεαν το αίμα αυτών ως ύδωρ κύκλω της Ιερουσαλήμ, και δεν υπήρχεν ο θάπτων.
4 Wee are a reproche to our neighbours, euen a scorne and derision vnto them that are round about vs.
Εγείναμεν όνειδος εις τους γείτονας ημών, κατάγελως και χλευασμός εις τους πέριξ ημών.
5 Lord, howe long wilt thou be angrie, for euer? shall thy gelousie burne like fire?
Έως πότε, Κύριε; θέλεις οργίζεσθαι διαπαντός; θέλει καίει ως πυρ η ζηλοτυπία σου;
6 Powre out thy wrath vpon the heathen that haue not knowen thee, and vpon the kingdomes that haue not called vpon thy Name.
Έκχεον την οργήν σου επί τα έθνη τα μη γνωρίζοντά σε και επί τα βασίλεια τα μη επικαλεσθέντα το όνομά σου·
7 For they haue deuoured Iaakob and made his dwelling place desolate.
διότι κατέφαγον τον Ιακώβ, και το κατοικητήριον αυτού ηρήμωσαν.
8 Remember not against vs the former iniquities, but make haste and let thy tender mercies preuent vs: for we are in great miserie.
Μη ενθυμηθής καθ' ημών τας ανομίας των αρχαίων· ταχέως ας προφθάσωσιν ημάς οι οικτιρμοί σου, διότι εταπεινώθημεν σφόδρα.
9 Helpe vs, O God of our saluation, for the glorie of thy Name, and deliuer vs, and be mercifull vnto our sinnes for thy Names sake.
Βοήθησον ημάς, Θεέ της σωτηρίας ημών, ένεκεν της δόξης του ονόματός σου· και ελευθέρωσον ημάς και γενού ίλεως εις τας αμαρτίας ημών, ένεκεν του ονόματός σου.
10 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be knowen among the heathen in our sight by the vengeance of the blood of thy seruants that is shed.
Διά τι να είπωσι τα έθνη, Που είναι ο Θεός αυτών; Ας γνωρισθή εις τα έθνη έμπροσθεν ημών, η εκδίκησις του εκχυθέντος αίματος των δούλων σου.
11 Let the sighing of the prisoners come before thee: according to thy mightie arme preserue the children of death,
Ας έλθη ενώπιόν σου ο στεναγμός των δεσμίων· κατά την μεγαλωσύνην του βραχίονός σου σώσον τους καταδεδικασμένους εις θάνατον·
12 And render to our neighbours seuen folde into their bosome their reproche, wherewith they haue reproched thee, O Lord.
και απόδος εις τους γείτονας ημών επταπλάσια εις τον κόλπον αυτών τον ονειδισμόν αυτών, με τον οποίον σε ωνείδισαν, Κύριε.
13 So wee thy people, and sheepe of thy pasture shall praise thee for euer: and from generation to generation we will set foorth thy praise.
Ημείς δε ο λαός σου και τα πρόβατα της βοσκής σου Θέλομεν σε δοξολογεί εις τον αιώνα· από γενεάς εις γενεάν θέλομεν αναγγέλλει την αίνεσίν σου.
