Psalms 73
1 A Psalme committed to Asaph. Yet God is good to Israel: euen, to the pure in heart.
Asaphin Psalmi. Totta on Jumala hyvä Israelille, niille, jotka puhtaat sydämestä ovat.
2 As for me, my feete were almost gone: my steps had well neere slipt.
Mutta minä olisin pian jaloillani horjunut: minun askeleeni olisivat lähes liukastuneet.
3 For I feared at the foolish, when I sawe the prosperitie of the wicked.
Sillä minä närkästyin öykkäreistä, että minä näin jumalattomat menestyvän.
4 For there are no bandes in their death, but they are lustie and strong.
Sillä ei he ole missään kuoleman hädässä, vaan heidän voimansa pysyy vahvana.
5 They are not in trouble as other men, neither are they plagued with other men.
Ei he ole vastoinkäymisessä niinkuin muut ihmiset, ja ei heitä vaivata niinkuin muita ihmisiä.
6 Therefore pride is as a chayne vnto them, and crueltie couereth them as a garment.
Sentähden on heidän ylpeytensä koria, ja heidän väkivaltansa kaunistaa heitä.
7 Their eyes stande out for fatnesse: they haue more then heart can wish.
Heidän silmänsä paisuvat lihavuudesta: he tekevät mitä ainoastansa heille kelpaa.
8 They are licentious, and speake wickedly of their oppression: they talke presumptuously.
Kaikkia he katsovat ylön, ja sitte pahasti puhuvat: he puhuvat ja laittavat ylpiästi.
9 They set their mouth against heauen, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
Mitä he puhuvat, sen täytyy olla taivaasta puhuttu: mitä he sanovat, sen täytyy maan päällä kelvata.
10 Therefore his people turne hither: for waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.
Sentähden noudattaa heitä yhteinen kansa, ja kokoontuvat heidän tykönsä niinkuin vedet,
11 And they say, Howe doeth God know it? or is there knowledge in the most High?
Ja sanovat: mitä Jumalan pitäis heitä kysymän? mitä pitäis korkeimman heistä lukua pitämän?
12 Lo, these are the wicked, yet prosper they alway, and increase in riches.
Katso, ne ovat jumalattomat: he ovat onnelliset maailmassa ja rikastuvat.
13 Certainely I haue clensed mine heart in vaine, and washed mine hands in innocencie.
Pitäiskö siis sen turhaan oleman, että minun sydämeni nuhteetoinna elää, ja minä pesen viattomuudessa minun käteni?
14 For dayly haue I bene punished, and chastened euery morning.
Ja minä ruoskitaan joka päivä, ja minun rangaistukseni on joka aamu käsissä?
15 If I say, I will iudge thus, beholde the generation of thy children: I haue trespassed.
Minä olisin lähes niin sanonut kuin hekin; mutta katso, niin minä olisin tuominnut kaikki sinun lapses, jotka ikänänsä olleet ovat.
16 Then thought I to know this, but it was too painefull for me,
Minä ajattelin sitä tutkia; mutta se oli minulle ylen raskas,
17 Vntill I went into the Sanctuarie of God: then vnderstoode I their ende.
Siihenasti kuin minä menin Jumalan pyhään, ja ymmärsin heidän loppunsa.
18 Surely thou hast set them in slipperie places, and castest them downe into desolation.
Tosin sinä asetit heitä liukkaalle, ja syöksit heitä pohjaan.
19 How suddenly are they destroyed, perished and horribly consumed,
Kuinka he niin pian hukkuvat: he hukkuvat ja saavat kauhian lopun.
20 As a dreame when one awaketh! O Lord, when thou raisest vs vp, thou shalt make their image despised.
Niinkuin uni, koska joku herää, niinpä sinä, Herra teet heidän kuvansa kaupungissa ylönkatsotuksi.
21 Certainely mine heart was vexed, and I was pricked in my reines:
Vaan kuin se karvasteli minun sydämessäni ja pisti minun munaskuitani,
22 So foolish was I and ignorant: I was a beast before thee.
Silloin olin minä tyhmä ja en mitään tietänyt: minä olin niinkuin nauta sinun edessäs.
23 Yet I was alway with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.
Kuitenkin minä pysyn alati sinun tykönäs; sillä sinä pidät minun oikiasta kädestäni.
24 Thou wilt guide me by thy counsell, and afterward receiue me to glory.
Sinä talutat minua neuvollas, ja korjaat minua viimein kunnialla.
25 Whom haue I in heauen but thee? and I haue desired none in the earth with thee.
Kuin sinä ainoastansa minulla olisit, niin en minä ensinkään sitte taivaasta eli maasta tottelisi.
26 My flesh fayleth and mine heart also: but God is the strength of mine heart, and my portion for euer.
Vaikka vielä minun ruumiini ja sieluni vaipuis, niin sinä, Jumala, kuitenkin olet aina minun sydämeni uskallus ja minun osani.
27 For loe, they that withdrawe themselues from thee, shall perish: thou destroyest all them that goe a whoring from thee.
Sillä katso, jotka sinusta eriävät, ne hukkuvat: sinä kadotat kaikki, jotka sinua vastaan huorin tekevät.
28 As for me, it is good for me to draw neere to God: therefore I haue put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy workes.
Mutta se on minun iloni, että minä itseni Jumalan tykö pidän, ja panen toivoni Herran, Herran päälle, ilmoittamaan kaikkia sinun töitäs.
