Psalms 63
1 A Psalme of David. When he was in the wildernesse of Judah. O God, thou art my God, earely will I seeke thee: my soule thirsteth for thee: my flesh longeth greatly after thee in a barren and drye land without water.
Psaume de David, quand il était dans l'Idumée. Dieu, ô mon Dieu, je veille pour toi dès l'aurore; mon âme a soif de toi; avec quelle ardeur ma chair te désire!
2 Thus I beholde thee as in the Sanctuarie, when I beholde thy power and thy glorie.
Sur une terre déserte, sans chemin et sans eau, je me tiens devant toi, comme dans ton sanctuaire, pour contempler ta puissance et ta gloire.
3 For thy louing kindnesse is better then life: therefore my lippes shall prayse thee.
Ta miséricorde est préférable à toutes les vies, aussi mes lèvres te loueront-elles.
4 Thus will I magnifie thee all my life, and lift vp mine hands in thy name.
Je te bénirai tant que durera ma vie; j'élèverai les mains en ton nom.
5 My soule shalbe satisfied, as with marowe and fatnesse, and my mouth shall praise thee with ioyfull lippes,
Que mon âme soit remplie de moelle et de graisse, et que mes lèvres joyeuses chantent ton nom.
6 When I remember thee on my bedde, and when I thinke vpon thee in the night watches.
Je me suis souvenu de toi sur ma couche; dès l'aurore, je méditais sur toi.
7 Because thou hast bene mine helper, therefore vnder the shadow of thy wings wil I reioyce.
Car tu as été mon champion, et à l'ombre de tes ailes je tressaillirai de joie.
8 My soule cleaueth vnto thee: for thy right hand vpholdeth me.
Mon âme s'est attachée à te suivre, et ta droite m'a soutenu.
9 Therefore they that seeke my soule to destroy it, they shall goe into the lowest partes of the earth.
Vainement ils ont cherché mon âme; ils seront précipités dans les entrailles de la terre.
10 They shall cast him downe with the edge of the sword, and they shall be a portion for foxes.
Ils seront livrés à la violence du glaive; ils seront la proie des renards.
11 But the King shall reioyce in God, and all that sweare by him shall reioyce in him: for the mouth of them that speake lyes, shall be stopped.
Cependant le roi se réjouira en Dieu; quiconque jure en lui sera loué, parce qu'il aura fermé la bouche de ceux qui proféraient l'iniquité.
