Psalms 54

1 To him that excelleth on Neginoth. A Psalme of David, to give instruction. When the Ziphims came and said unto Saul, Is not David hid among us? Save mee, O God, by thy Name, and by thy power iudge me.

Mai marelui muzician pe un instrument cu coarde, „Maschil,” Un psalm al lui David, când zifiții au venit și i-au spus lui Saul: Nu se ascunde David la noi? Salvează-mă, Dumnezeule, prin numele tău și judecă-mă prin puterea ta.

2 O God, heare my prayer: hearken vnto the wordes of my mouth.

Ascultă-mi rugăciunea, Dumnezeule; deschide urechea la cuvintele gurii mele.

3 For strangers are risen vp against me, and tyrants seeke my soule: they haue not set God before them. (Selah)

Căci niște străini s-au ridicat împotriva mea și opresori îmi caută sufletul, ei nu au așezat pe Dumnezeu înaintea lor. (Selah)

4 Beholde, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that vpholde my soule.

Iată, Dumnezeu este ajutorul meu, Domnul este cu cei ce îmi susțin sufletul.

5 He shall rewarde euill vnto mine enemies: Oh cut them off in thy trueth!

Va întoarce răul asupra dușmanilor mei, stârpește-i în adevărul tău.

6 Then I will sacrifice freely vnto thee: I wil praise thy Name, O Lord, because it is good.

De bunăvoie îți voi sacrifica ție; voi lăuda numele tău, DOAMNE, fiindcă este bun.

7 For he hath deliuered me out of al trouble, and mine eye hath seene my desire vpon mine enemies.

Căci el m-a eliberat din toată tulburarea și ochiul meu și-a văzut dorința împlinită asupra dușmanilor mei.
