Psalms 54

1 To him that excelleth on Neginoth. A Psalme of David, to give instruction. When the Ziphims came and said unto Saul, Is not David hid among us? Save mee, O God, by thy Name, and by thy power iudge me.

Dem Musikmeister, mit Saitenspiel; ein Lehrgedicht Davids, als die Siphiter kamen und zu Saul sagten: »Weißt du nicht, daß David sich bei uns verborgen hält?«. Hilf mir, o Gott, durch deinen Namen

2 O God, heare my prayer: hearken vnto the wordes of my mouth.

Höre, o Gott, mein Gebet, vernimm die Worte meines Mundes!

3 For strangers are risen vp against me, and tyrants seeke my soule: they haue not set God before them. (Selah)

Denn Freche haben sich gegen mich erhoben, und Gewalttätige trachten mir nach dem Leben: sie haben Gott sich nicht vor Augen gestellt. (SELA)

4 Beholde, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that vpholde my soule.

Ich weiß: Gott ist mir ein Helfer, der Allherr ist meiner Seele Stütze.

5 He shall rewarde euill vnto mine enemies: Oh cut them off in thy trueth!

Das Böse wird auf meine Feinde zurückfallen: nach deiner Treue vernichte sie!

6 Then I will sacrifice freely vnto thee: I wil praise thy Name, O Lord, because it is good.

Dann will ich mit Freuden dir Opfer bringen, will preisen deinen Namen, o HERR, daß er gütig ist;

7 For he hath deliuered me out of al trouble, and mine eye hath seene my desire vpon mine enemies.

denn er hat mich aus aller Bedrängnis errettet, und an meinen Feinden hat mein Auge sich geweidet.
