Psalms 54

1 To him that excelleth on Neginoth. A Psalme of David, to give instruction. When the Ziphims came and said unto Saul, Is not David hid among us? Save mee, O God, by thy Name, and by thy power iudge me.

Pour le musicien en chef. Sur des instruments à cordes. Une contemplation de David, lorsque les Ziphites vinrent dire à Saül: « David ne se cache-t-il pas parmi nous? » Sauve-moi, Dieu, par ton nom. Rends-moi justice par ta puissance.

2 O God, heare my prayer: hearken vnto the wordes of my mouth.

Entends ma prière, Dieu. Écoutez les paroles de ma bouche.

3 For strangers are risen vp against me, and tyrants seeke my soule: they haue not set God before them. (Selah)

Car des étrangers se sont levés contre moi. Des hommes violents ont cherché mon âme. Ils n'ont pas mis Dieu devant eux. (Selah)

4 Beholde, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that vpholde my soule.

Voici, Dieu est mon aide. Le Seigneur est celui qui soutient mon âme.

5 He shall rewarde euill vnto mine enemies: Oh cut them off in thy trueth!

Il rendra le mal à mes ennemis. Détruis-les dans ta vérité.

6 Then I will sacrifice freely vnto thee: I wil praise thy Name, O Lord, because it is good.

Avec une offrande volontaire, je te sacrifie. Je rendrai grâce à ton nom, Yahvé, car il est bon.

7 For he hath deliuered me out of al trouble, and mine eye hath seene my desire vpon mine enemies.

Car il m'a délivré de toute détresse. Mon œil a vu le triomphe sur mes ennemis.
