Psalms 52
1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid to giue instruction. When Doeg the Edomite came and shewed Saul, and saide to him, Dauid is come to the house of Abimelech. Why boastest thou thy selfe in thy wickednesse, O man of power? the louing kindenesse of God indureth dayly.
«Εις τον πρώτον μουσικόν, Μασχίλ του Δαβίδ, ότε ήλθε Δωήκ ο Ιδουμαίος και ανήγγειλε προς τον Σαούλ, και είπε προς αυτόν. Ήλθεν ο Δαβίδ εις την οικίαν του Αχιμέλεχ.» Τι καυχάσαι εις την κακίαν, δυνατέ; το έλεος του Θεού διαμένει εις τον αιώνα.
2 Thy tongue imagineth mischiefe, and is like a sharpe rasor, that cutteth deceitfully.
Η γλώσσα σου μελετά κακίας· ως ξυράφιον ηκονημένον εργάζεται δόλον.
3 Thou doest loue euill more then good, and lies more then to speake the trueth. (Selah)
Ηγάπησας το κακόν μάλλον παρά το αγαθόν, το ψεύδος παρά να λαλής δικαιοσύνην. Διάψαλμα.
4 Thou louest all wordes that may destroye, O deceitfull tongue!
Ηγάπησας πάντας τους λόγους του αφανισμού, γλώσσαν δολίαν.
5 So shall God destroy thee for euer: he shall take thee and plucke thee out of thy tabernacle, and roote thee out of ye land of the liuing. (Selah)
Διά τούτο ο Θεός θέλει σε εξολοθρεύσει διαπαντός· θέλει σε αποσπάσει και σε μετατοπίσει εκ της σκηνής σου, και θέλει σε εκριζώσει εκ γης ζώντων. Διάψαλμα.
6 The righteous also shall see it, and feare, and shall laugh at him, saying,
Και οι δίκαιοι θέλουσιν ιδεί και φοβηθή· και θέλουσι γελάσει επ' αυτόν λέγοντες,
7 Beholde the man that tooke not God for his strength, but trusted vnto the multitude of his riches, and put his strength in his malice.
Ιδού, ο άνθρωπος, όστις δεν έθεσε τον Θεόν δύναμιν αυτού. αλλ' ήλπισεν επί το πλήθος του πλούτου αυτού και επεστηρίζετο επί την πονηρίαν αυτού.
8 But I shall bee like a greene oliue tree in the house of God: for I trusted in the mercie of God for euer and euer.
Εγώ δε θέλω είσθαι ως ελαία ακμάζουσα εν τω οίκω του Θεού· ελπίζω επί το έλεος του Θεού εις τον αιώνα του αιώνος.
9 I will alway praise thee, for that thou hast done this, and I will hope in thy Name, because it is good before thy Saints.
Θέλω σε δοξολογεί πάντοτε, διότι έκαμες ούτω· και θέλω ελπίζει επί το όνομά σου, διότι είναι αγαθόν έμπροσθεν των οσίων σου.
