Psalms 51
1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of David, when the Prophet Nathan came unto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba. Have mercie vpon me, O God, according to thy louing kindnes: according to the multitude of thy compassions put away mine iniquities.
സംഗീതസംവിധായകന്. ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. ദാവീദ് ബേത്ത്-ശേബയുമായി സംഗമിച്ച് പാപംചെയ്തതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് നാഥാൻ പ്രവാചകൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ സന്ദർശിച്ചതിനുശേഷം രചിച്ചത്. ദൈവമേ, അവിടത്തെ അചഞ്ചലസ്നേഹത്തിന് അനുയോജ്യമായവിധത്തിൽ, അടിയനോടു കരുണയുണ്ടാകണമേ; അങ്ങയുടെ മഹാകാരുണ്യംനിമിത്തം എന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങൾ മായിച്ചുകളയണമേ.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquitie, and clense me from my sinne.
എന്റെ എല്ലാവിധ അകൃത്യങ്ങളും കഴുകിക്കളഞ്ഞ് എന്റെ പാപത്തിൽനിന്ന് എന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കണമേ.
3 For I know mine iniquities, and my sinne is euer before me.
എന്റെ അതിക്രമങ്ങൾ ഞാനറിയുന്നു, എന്റെ പാപം എപ്പോഴും എന്റെ കൺമുമ്പിലുണ്ട്.
4 Against thee, against thee onely haue I sinned, and done euill in thy sight, that thou mayest be iust when thou speakest, and pure when thou iudgest.
അവിടത്തേക്കെതിരായി, അവിടത്തോടുമാത്രം ഞാൻ പാപംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു അവിടത്തെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ ഞാൻ തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാൽ അവിടത്തെ ന്യായത്തീർപ്പുകൾ നീതിയുക്തവും അവിടത്തെ വിധിന്യായം ന്യായയുക്തവുമാകുന്നു.
5 Beholde, I was borne in iniquitie, and in sinne hath my mother conceiued me.
ഇതാ ഞാൻ പിറന്നത് പാപിയായിട്ടാണ്, എന്റെ അമ്മ എന്നെ ഗർഭംധരിച്ചപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ ഞാൻ പാപിയാണ്.
6 Beholde, thou louest trueth in the inwarde affections: therefore hast thou taught mee wisedome in the secret of mine heart.
അന്തരാത്മാവിലെ സത്യമാണല്ലോ അവിടന്ന് അഭിലഷിക്കുന്നത്; ഹൃദയാന്തർഭാഗത്തിലും എന്നെ ജ്ഞാനം അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ചു.
7 Purge me with hyssope, and I shalbe cleane: wash me, and I shalbe whiter then snowe.
ഈസോപ്പുകൊണ്ട് എന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കണമേ, അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നിർമലനാകും; എന്നെ കഴുകണമേ, അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ഹിമത്തെക്കാൾ വെണ്മയുള്ളവനാകും.
8 Make me to heare ioye and gladnes, that the bones, which thou hast broken, may reioyce.
ആനന്ദവും ആഹ്ലാദവും എന്നെ കേൾപ്പിക്കണമേ; അവിടന്ന് തകർത്ത അസ്ഥികൾ ഉല്ലസിക്കട്ടെ.
9 Hide thy face from my sinnes, and put away all mine iniquities.
എന്റെ പാപങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും തിരുമുഖം മറയ്ക്കണമേ എന്റെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളെല്ലാം മായിച്ചുകളയണമേ.
10 Create in mee a cleane heart, O God, and renue a right spirit within me.
ദൈവമേ, നിർമലമായൊരു ഹൃദയം എന്നിൽ സൃഷ്ടിക്കണമേ, അചഞ്ചലമായ ഒരാത്മാവിനെ എന്നിൽ പുതുക്കണമേ.
11 Cast mee not away from thy presence, and take not thine holy Spirit from me.
അവിടത്തെ സന്നിധാനത്തിൽനിന്ന് എന്നെ പുറന്തള്ളുകയോ അവിടത്തെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനെ എന്നിൽനിന്ന് എടുത്തുകളയുകയോ അരുതേ.
12 Restore to me the ioy of thy saluation, and stablish me with thy free Spirit.
അവിടത്തെ രക്ഷയുടെ സന്തോഷത്തിലേക്ക് എന്നെ മടക്കിവരുത്തണമേ, അനുസരിക്കാൻ ഒരുക്കമുള്ള ഒരു ആത്മാവിനെ അനുവദിച്ചുനൽകി എന്നെ താങ്ങിനിർത്തണമേ.
13 Then shall I teache thy wayes vnto the wicked, and sinners shalbe conuerted vnto thee.
അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അതിക്രമികൾക്ക് അവിടത്തെ വഴികൾ അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും, അങ്ങനെ പാപികൾ തിരുസന്നിധിയിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിവരികയും ചെയ്യും.
14 Deliuer me from blood, O God, which art the God of my saluation, and my tongue shall sing ioyfully of thy righteousnes.
ദൈവമേ, എന്റെ രക്ഷയുടെ ദൈവമേ, രക്തംചൊരിഞ്ഞ കുറ്റത്തിൽനിന്ന് എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കണമേ, അപ്പോൾ എന്റെ നാവ് അവിടത്തെ നീതിയെപ്പറ്റി പാടും.
15 Open thou my lippes, O Lord, and my mouth shall shewe foorth thy praise.
കർത്താവേ, എന്റെ അധരങ്ങളെ തുറക്കണമേ; എന്റെ നാവ് അവിടത്തെ സ്തുതിഗാനമാലപിക്കട്ടെ.
16 For thou desirest no sacrifice, though I would giue it: thou delitest not in burnt offering.
അവിടന്ന് യാഗം അഭിലഷിക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ, അങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ ഞാനത് അർപ്പിക്കുമായിരുന്നു. ദഹനയാഗങ്ങളിൽ അവിടന്ന് പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.
17 The sacrifices of God are a contrite spirit: a contrite and a broken heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
ദൈവത്തിന് ഹിതകരമായ യാഗം തകർന്ന മനസ്സല്ലോ; പശ്ചാത്താപത്താൽ തകർന്ന ഹൃദയത്തെ ദൈവമേ, അവിടന്നൊരിക്കലും നിരസിക്കുകയില്ലല്ലോ.
18 Bee fauourable vnto Zion for thy good pleasure: builde the walles of Ierusalem.
അവിടത്തെ പ്രസാദംമൂലം സീയോനെ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്പെടുത്തണമേ, ജെറുശലേമിന്റെ മതിലുകളെ പണിയണമേ.
19 Then shalt thou accept ye sacrifices of righteousnes, euen the burnt offering and oblation: then shall they offer calues vpon thine altar.
അപ്പോൾ നീതിമാന്റെ അർപ്പണങ്ങൾ; ദഹനയാഗങ്ങൾ, അവിടത്തേക്ക് പ്രസാദകരമായ സമ്പൂർണദഹനയാഗങ്ങൾതന്നെ അർപ്പിക്കപ്പെടും; അപ്പോൾ അവിടത്തെ യാഗപീഠത്തിൽ കാളകൾ അർപ്പിക്കപ്പെടും.
