Psalms 5
1 To him that excelleth upon Nehiloth. A Psalme of Dauid. Heare my wordes, O Lord: vnderstande my (meditation)
Au maître-chantre. — Avec les flûtes. Psaume de David. Prête l'oreille à mes paroles, ô Éternel; Sois attentif à mes soupirs!
2 Hearken vnto the voyce of my crie, my King and my God: for vnto thee doe I pray.
Écoute ma voix qui t'implore, ô mon Roi et mon Dieu; Car c'est à toi que s'adresse ma prière.
3 Heare my voyce in the morning, O Lord: for in the morning will I direct me vnto thee, and I will waite.
Éternel, dès le matin daigne entendre ma voix; Dès le matin je t'offre ma requête, et j'attends!
4 For thou art not a God that loueth wickednes: neither shall euill dwell with thee.
Car tu n'es pas un Dieu qui prenne plaisir au mal: Le méchant ne peut séjourner chez toi.
5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: for thou hatest all them that worke iniquitie.
Les orgueilleux ne subsistent pas devant tes yeux; Tu hais tous les ouvriers d'iniquité.
6 Thou shalt destroy them that speake lyes: the Lord will abhorre the bloodie man and deceitfull.
Tu feras périr ceux qui profèrent le mensonge. L'Éternel a horreur de l'homme de sang et de fraude.
7 But I wil come into thine house in the multitude of thy mercie: and in thy feare will I worship toward thine holy Temple.
Mais moi, par ta grande bonté, j'entrerai dans ta maison; Je me prosternerai dans ton sanctuaire, Avec la crainte qui t'est due.
8 Leade me, O Lord, in thy righteousnes, because of mine enemies: make thy way plaine before my face.
Éternel, dirige-moi dans les sentiers de ta justice, A cause de ceux qui épient ma conduite. Aplanis la voie devant moi!
9 For no constancie is in their mouth: within, they are very corruption: their throte is an open sepulchre, and they flatter with their tongue.
Car il n'y a point de sincérité dans leur bouche; Leur coeur ne pense qu'à détruire; Leur gosier est un sépulcre ouvert; Leur langue est pleine de flatterie.
10 Destroy them, O God: let them fall from their counsels: cast them out for the multitude of their iniquities, because they haue rebelled against thee.
Châtie-les, ô Dieu! Qu'ils échouent dans leurs desseins! Repousse-les à cause de la multitude de leurs crimes; Car ils se sont révoltés contre toi.
11 And let all them that trust in thee, reioyce and triumph for euer, and couer thou them: and let them, that loue thy Name, reioyce in thee.
Mais tous ceux qui se confient en toi se réjouiront; Ils pousseront des cris d'allégresse, à jamais. Tu étendras sur eux ta protection. Et ceux qui aiment ton nom Triompheront en toi!
12 For thou Lord wilt blesse the righteous, and with fauour wilt compasse him, as with a shielde.
C'est toi, ô Éternel, qui bénis le juste; Tu l'entoures de ta bienveillance comme d'un bouclier.
