Psalms 49
1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Heare this, all ye people: giue eare, all ye that dwell in the world,
Para el músico principal. Un salmo de los hijos de Coré. Oíd esto, todos los pueblos. Escuchad, todos los habitantes del mundo,
2 As well lowe as hie, both rich and poore.
tanto de baja como de alta, ricos y pobres juntos.
3 My mouth shall speake of wisdome, and the meditation of mine heart is of knowledge.
Mi boca dirá palabras de sabiduría. Mi corazón pronunciará la comprensión.
4 I will incline mine eare to a parable, and vtter my graue matter vpon the harpe.
Inclinaré mi oído a un proverbio. Resolveré mi acertijo en el arpa.
5 Wherefore should I feare in the euil dayes, when iniquitie shall compasse me about, as at mine heeles?
¿Por qué he de temer en los días de maldad? cuando me rodea la iniquidad en los talones?
6 They trust in their goods, and boast them selues in the multitude of their riches.
Los que confían en su riqueza, y se jactan de la multitud de sus riquezas...
7 Yet a man can by no meanes redeeme his brother: he can not giue his raunsome to God,
ninguno de ellos puede redimir a su hermano, ni dar a Dios un rescate por él.
8 (So precious is the redemption of their soules, and the continuance for euer)
Porque la redención de su vida es costosa, ningún pago es suficiente,
9 That he may liue still for euer, and not see the graue.
para que viva eternamente, para que no vea la corrupción.
10 For he seeth that wise men die, and also that the ignorant and foolish perish, and leaue their riches for others.
Porque ve que los sabios mueren; así mismo el necio y el insensato perecen, y dejar su riqueza a otros.
11 Yet they thinke, their houses, and their habitations shall continue for euer, euen from generation to generation, and call their lands by their names.
Su pensamiento interior es que sus casas serán eternas, y sus moradas para todas las generaciones. Dan su nombre a sus tierras.
12 But man shall not continue in honour: he is like the beastes that die.
Pero el hombre, a pesar de sus riquezas, no perdura. Es como los animales que perecen.
13 This their way vttereth their foolishnes: yet their posteritie delite in their talke. (Selah)
Este es el destino de los insensatos, y de los que aprueban sus dichos. (Selah)
14 Like sheepe they lie in graue: death deuoureth them, and the righteous shall haue domination ouer them in the morning: for their beautie shall consume, when they shall goe from their house to graue. (Sheol h7585)
Están designados como un rebaño para el Seol. La muerte será su pastor. Los rectos se enseñorearán de ellos por la mañana. Su belleza se descompondrá en el Seol, lejos de su mansión. (Sheol h7585)
15 But God shall deliuer my soule from the power of the graue: for he will receiue me. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Pero Dios redimirá mi alma del poder del Seol, porque él me recibirá. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
16 Be not thou afrayd when one is made rich, and when the glory of his house is increased.
No tengas miedo cuando un hombre se hace rico, cuando la gloria de su casa se incremente;
17 For he shall take nothing away when he dieth, neither shall his pompe descende after him.
porque cuando muera no se llevará nada. Su gloria no descenderá tras él.
18 For while he liued, he reioyced himselfe: and men will prayse thee, when thou makest much of thy selfe.
Aunque mientras vivió bendijo su alma — y los hombres te alaban cuando te va bien...
19 He shall enter into the generation of his fathers, and they shall not liue for euer.
irá a la generación de sus padres. Nunca verán la luz.
20 Man is in honour, and vnderstandeth not: he is like to beasts that perish.
Un hombre que tiene riquezas sin entendimiento, es como los animales que perecen.
