Psalms 49
1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Heare this, all ye people: giue eare, all ye that dwell in the world,
Ouvi isto, vós todos os povos; inclinai os ouvidos, todos os moradores do mundo,
2 As well lowe as hie, both rich and poore.
Tanto baixos como altos, tanto ricos como pobres.
3 My mouth shall speake of wisdome, and the meditation of mine heart is of knowledge.
A minha boca falará de sabedoria; e a meditação do meu coração será de entendimento.
4 I will incline mine eare to a parable, and vtter my graue matter vpon the harpe.
Inclinarei os meus ouvidos a uma parábola: declararei o meu enigma na harpa.
5 Wherefore should I feare in the euil dayes, when iniquitie shall compasse me about, as at mine heeles?
Porque temerei eu nos dias maus, quando me cercar a iniquidade dos que me armam ciladas?
6 They trust in their goods, and boast them selues in the multitude of their riches.
Aqueles que confiam na sua fazenda, e se glóriam na multidão das suas riquezas,
7 Yet a man can by no meanes redeeme his brother: he can not giue his raunsome to God,
Nenhum deles de modo algum pode remir a seu irmão, ou dar a Deus o resgate dele
8 (So precious is the redemption of their soules, and the continuance for euer)
(Pois a redenção da sua alma é caríssima, e cessará para sempre);
9 That he may liue still for euer, and not see the graue.
Para que viva para sempre, e não veja corrupção:
10 For he seeth that wise men die, and also that the ignorant and foolish perish, and leaue their riches for others.
Porque ele vê que os sábios morrem: perecem igualmente tanto o louco como o brutal, e deixam a outros os seus bens.
11 Yet they thinke, their houses, and their habitations shall continue for euer, euen from generation to generation, and call their lands by their names.
O seu pensamento interior é que as suas casas serão perpétuas e as suas habitações de geração em geração: dão às suas terras os seus próprios nomes.
12 But man shall not continue in honour: he is like the beastes that die.
Todavia o homem que está na honra não permanece; antes é como os brutos que perecem.
13 This their way vttereth their foolishnes: yet their posteritie delite in their talke. (Selah)
Este caminho deles é a sua loucura; contudo a sua posteridade aprova as suas palavras (Selah)
14 Like sheepe they lie in graue: death deuoureth them, and the righteous shall haue domination ouer them in the morning: for their beautie shall consume, when they shall goe from their house to graue. (Sheol h7585)
Como ovelhas são postos na sepultura; a morte se alimentará deles; e os retos terão domínio sobre eles na manhã, e a sua formosura na sepultura se consumirá da sua morada. (Sheol h7585)
15 But God shall deliuer my soule from the power of the graue: for he will receiue me. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Mas Deus remirá a minha alma do poder da sepultura, pois me receberá (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
16 Be not thou afrayd when one is made rich, and when the glory of his house is increased.
Não temas, quando alguém se enriquece, quando a glória da sua casa se engrandece.
17 For he shall take nothing away when he dieth, neither shall his pompe descende after him.
Porque, quando morrer, nada levará consigo, nem a sua glória o acompanhará.
18 For while he liued, he reioyced himselfe: and men will prayse thee, when thou makest much of thy selfe.
Ainda que na sua vida ele bendisse a sua alma, e os homens te louvam, quando fizeres bem a ti mesmo,
19 He shall enter into the generation of his fathers, and they shall not liue for euer.
Irá para a geração de seus pais; eles nunca verão a luz
20 Man is in honour, and vnderstandeth not: he is like to beasts that perish.
O homem que está na honra, e não tem entendimento, é semelhante às bestas que perecem.
