Psalms 48
1 A song or Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praysed, in the Citie of our God, euen vpon his holy Mountaine.
Cantico di Salmo, de' figliuoli di Core IL Signore [è] grande, e molto glorioso Nella Città dell'Iddio nostro, [nel] monte della sua santità.
2 Mount Zion, lying Northwarde, is faire in situation: it is the ioy of the whole earth, and the Citie of the great King.
Il monte di Sion, il fondo verso il Settentrione, La Città del gran Re [È in] bella contrada, [è] la gioia di tutta la terra.
3 In the palaces thereof God is knowen for a refuge.
Iddio [è] riconosciuto ne' palazzi di essa, per alta fortezza.
4 For lo, the Kings were gathered, and went together.
Perciocchè ecco, i re si erano adunati, Ed erano tutti insieme passati oltre.
5 When they sawe it, they marueiled: they were astonied, and suddenly driuen backe.
Come prima [la] videro, furono attoniti, Si smarrirono, si affrettarono [a fuggire].
6 Feare came there vpon them, and sorowe, as vpon a woman in trauaile.
Tremore li colse quivi; Doglia, come di donna che partorisce.
7 As with an East winde thou breakest the shippes of Tarshish, so were they destroyed.
[Furono rotti come] per lo vento orientale [Che] rompe le navi di Tarsis.
8 As we haue heard, so haue we seene in the citie of the Lord of hostes, in the Citie of our God: God will stablish it for euer. (Selah)
Come avevamo udito, così abbiam veduto, Nella Città del Signor degli eserciti, Nella Città dell'Iddio nostro; Iddio la stabilirà in perpetuo. (Sela)
9 We waite for thy louing kindnes, O God, in the middes of thy Temple.
O Dio, noi abbiamo, chetamente aspettata la tua benignità Dentro al tuo Tempio.
10 O God, according vnto thy Name, so is thy prayse vnto the worlds end: thy right hand is full of righteousnes.
O Dio, quale [è] il tuo Nome, Tale [è] la tua lode, infino all'estremità della terra; La tua destra è piena di giustizia.
11 Let mount Zion reioyce, and the daughters of Iudah be glad, because of thy iudgements.
Il monte di Sion si rallegrerà, Le figliuole di Giuda festeggeranno, per li tuoi giudicii.
12 Compasse about Zion, and goe round about it, and tell the towres thereof.
Circuite Sion, e andate attorno a lei, Contate le sue torri.
13 Marke well the wall thereof: beholde her towres, that ye may tell your posteritie.
Ponete mente alle bastie, Mirate l'altezza de' suoi palazzi; Acciocchè [lo] raccontiate all'età a venire.
14 For this God is our God for euer and euer: he shall be our guide vnto the death.
Perciocchè questo Dio [è] il nostro Dio in sempiterno; Egli ci giuderà infino alla morte.
