Psalms 47

1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. All people clap your hands: sing loude vnto God with a ioyfull voyce.

Dem Sangmeister für die Söhne Korachs. Ein Psalm. Ihr Völker alle, klatschet in die Hände, jubelt zu Gott mit der Stimme der Lobpreisung.

2 For the Lord is high, and terrible: a great King ouer all the earth.

Denn Jehovah, der Allerhöchste, ist furchtbar, ein großer König über alle Erde.

3 He hath subdued the people vnder vs, and the nations vnder our feete.

Er bezwingt Völker unter uns, und Volksstämme unter unsere Füße.

4 Hee hath chosen our inheritance for vs: euen the glory of Iaakob whom he loued. (Selah)

Er hat uns unser Erbe auserwählt, Jakobs Stolz, den Er geliebt. (Selah)

5 God is gone vp with triumph, euen the Lord, with the sound of the trumpet.

Hinauf steigt Gott mit Jubel, Jehovah mit der Stimme der Posaune.

6 Sing prayses to God, sing prayses: sing prayses vnto our King, sing prayses.

Singt Psalmen unserem Gott, singt Psalmen; singt Psalmen unserem König, singt Psalmen!

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing prayses euery one that hath vnderstanding.

Denn König der ganzen Erde ist Gott, singt Ihm Psalmen verständig.

8 God reigneth ouer the heathen: God sitteth vpon his holy throne.

Gott ist König über Völkerschaften, Gott sitzt auf dem Thron Seiner Heiligkeit.

9 The princes of the people are gathered vnto the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the world belong to God: he is greatly to be exalted.

Der Völker Freiwillige haben sich versammelt, das Volk des Gottes Abrahams; denn Gottes sind der Erde Schilder; sehr erhöht ist Er.
