Psalms 46
1 To him that excelleth upon Alamoth a song committed to the sonnes of Korah. God is our hope and strength, and helpe in troubles, ready to be found.
Een lied op Alamoth, voor den opperzangmeester, onder de kinderen van Korach. God is ons een Toevlucht en Sterkte; Hij is krachtelijk bevonden een Hulp in benauwdheden.
2 Therefore will not we feare, though the earth be moued, and though the mountaines fall into the middes of the sea.
Daarom zullen wij niet vrezen, al veranderde de aarde haar plaats, en al werden de bergen verzet in het hart der zeeen;
3 Though the waters thereof rage and be troubled, and the mountaines shake at the surges of the same. (Selah)
Laat haar wateren bruisen, laat ze beroerd worden; laat de bergen daveren, door derzelver verheffing! (Sela)
4 Yet there is a Riuer, whose streames shall make glad the citie of God: euen the Sanctuarie of the Tabernacles of the most High.
De beekjes der rivier zullen verblijden de stad Gods, het heiligdom der woningen des Allerhoogsten.
5 God is in the middes of it: therefore shall it not be moued: God shall helpe it very earely.
God is in het midden van haar, zij zal niet wankelen; God zal haar helpen in het aanbreken van den morgenstond.
6 When the nations raged, and the kingdomes were moued, God thundred, and the earth melted.
De heidenen raasden, de koninkrijken bewogen zich; Hij verhief Zijn stem, de aarde versmolt.
7 The Lord of hostes is with vs: the God of Iaakob is our refuge. (Selah)
De HEERE der heirscharen is met ons; de God van Jakob is ons een Hoog Vertrek. (Sela)
8 Come, and behold the workes of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
Komt, aanschouwt de daden des HEEREN, Die verwoestingen op aarde aanricht.
9 He maketh warres to cease vnto the endes of the world: he breaketh the bowe and cutteth the speare, and burneth the chariots with fire.
Die de oorlogen doet ophouden tot aan het einde der aarde, de boog verbreekt, en de spies aan twee slaat, de wagenen met vuur verbrandt.
10 Be still and knowe that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, and I wil be exalted in the earth.
Laat af, en weet, dat Ik God ben; Ik zal verhoogd worden onder de heidenen, Ik zal verhoogd worden op de aarde.
