Psalms 45

1 To him that excelleth on Shoshannim a song of love to give instruction, committed to the sonnes of Korah. Mine heart will vtter forth a good matter: I wil intreat in my workes of the King: my tongue is as the pen of a swift writer.

برای رهبر سرایندگان: در مایۀ «سوسنها». قصیدۀ پسران قورَح. ترانۀ عاشقانه. در حالی که این سرود را برای پادشاه می‌سرایم، کلماتی زیبا فکرم را پر می‌سازند. همچون قلمی در دست شاعری توانا، زبانم آماده سرودن است.

2 Thou art fayrer then the children of men: grace is powred in thy lips, because God hath blessed thee for euer.

تو از همهٔ انسانها زیباتری؛ از لبانت نعمت و فیض می‌چکد. خداوند تو را تا ابد متبارک ساخته است.

3 Gird thy sword vpon thy thigh, O most mightie, to wit, thy worship and thy glory,

ای دلاور، شمشیر جلال و جبروتت را بر کمر خویش ببند و شکوهمندانه بر اسب خویش سوار شو

4 And prosper with thy glory: ride vpon the worde of trueth and of meekenes and of righteousnes: so thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

تا از حقیقت و عدالت و تواضع دفاع کنی. قدرت بازوی تو پیروزی بزرگی را نصیب تو می‌گرداند.

5 Thine arrowes are sharpe to pearce the heart of the Kings enemies: therefore the people shall fall vnder thee.

تیرهای تیز تو به قلب دشمنانت فرو می‌روند؛ و قومها در برابر تو سقوط می‌کنند.

6 Thy throne, O God, is for euer and euer: the scepter of thy kingdome is a scepter of righteousnesse.

ای خدا، سلطنت تو تا ابد برقرار است؛ اساس حکومت تو، بر عدل و راستی است.

7 Thou louest righteousnes, and hatest wickednesse, because God, euen thy God hath anoynted thee with the oyle of gladnes aboue thy fellowes.

عدالت را دوست داری و از شرارت بیزاری؛ بنابراین، خدا، یعنی خدای تو، تو را بیش از هر کس دیگر به روغن شادمانی مسح کرده است.

8 All thy garments smelll of myrrhe and aloes, and cassia, when thou commest out of the yuorie palaces, where they haue made thee glad.

همهٔ لباسهایت به بوی خوش مُر و عود و سلیخه آمیخته است؛ در کاخ عاج تو، نوای موسیقی گوشهایت را نوازش می‌دهد.

9 Kings daugthers were among thine honorable wiues: vpon thy right hand did stand the Queene in a vesture of golde of Ophir.

ندیمه‌های دربارت، شاهزادگانند؛ در سمت راست تو، ملکه با لباس مزین به طلای خالص، ایستاده است.

10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine eare: forget also thine owne people and thy fathers house.

ای دختر، به نصیحت من گوش کن. قوم و خویش و زادگاه خود را فراموش کن

11 So shall the King haue pleasure in thy beautie: for he is thy Lord, and reuerence thou him.

تا پادشاه شیفتهٔ زیبایی تو شود. او را اطاعت کن، زیرا او سَروَر توست.

12 And the daughter of Tyrus with the rich of the people shall doe homage before thy face with presents.

اهالی سرزمین صور با هدایا نزد تو خواهند آمد و ثروتمندان قوم تو طالب رضامندی تو خواهند بود.

13 The Kings daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of broydred golde.

عروسِ پادشاه را نگاه کنید! او در درون کاخش چه زیباست! لباسهایش زربافت می‌باشد.

14 She shalbe brought vnto the King in raiment of needle worke: the virgins that follow after her, and her companions shall be brought vnto thee.

او را با لباس نقشدارش نزد پادشاه می‌آورند؛ ندیمه‌هایش نیز از پی او می‌آیند.

15 With ioy and gladnes shall they be brought, and shall enter into the Kings palace.

آنان با خوشی و شادمانی به درون کاخ پادشاه هدایت می‌شوند.

16 In steade of thy fathers shall thy children be: thou shalt make them princes through all the earth.

ای پادشاه، تو صاحب پسران بسیار خواهی شد و آنها نیز مانند اجدادت تاج شاهی را بر سر خواهند نهاد، و تو ایشان را در سراسر جهان به حکمرانی خواهی گماشت.

17 I will make thy Name to be remembred through all generations: therefore shall the people giue thanks vnto thee world without ende.

نام تو را در تمام نسلها شهرت خواهم داد، و همهٔ مردم تا ابد سپاسگزار تو خواهند بود.
