Psalms 41

1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. Blessed is he that iudgeth wisely of the poore: the Lord shall deliuer him in ye time of trouble.

Salmo de Davi, para o regente: Bem-aventurado aquele que dá atenção ao miserável; o SENHOR o livrará no dia do mal.

2 The Lord will keepe him, and preserue him aliue: he shalbe blessed vpon the earth, and thou wilt not deliuer him vnto the will of his enemies.

O SENHOR o guardará, e o manterá vivo; ele será bem-aventurado na terra; e tu não o entregarás à vontade de seus inimigos.

3 The Lord wil strengthen him vpon ye bed of sorow: thou hast turned al his bed in his sicknes.

O SENHOR o sustentará no leito de enfermidade; na doença dele tu mudas toda a sua cama.

4 Therefore I saide, Lord haue mercie vpon me: heale my soule, for I haue sinned against thee.

Eu disse: SENHOR, tem piedade de mim, sara a minha alma, porque eu pequei contra ti.

5 Mine enemies speake euill of me, saying, When shall he die, and his name perish?

Meus inimigos falam mal de mim, [dizendo]: Quando ele morrerá? [Quando] o nome dele perecerá?

6 And if hee come to see mee, hee speaketh lies, but his heart heapeth iniquitie within him, and when he commeth foorth, he telleth it.

E se [algum deles] vem me ver, fala coisas sem valor, [e] seu coração junta maldade; ele sai, [e] fala disso.

7 All they that hate me, whisper together against me: euen against me do they imagine mine hurt.

Todos os que me odeiam murmuram juntamente de mim; contra mim eles planejam o mal para mim, [dizendo]:

8 A mischiefe is light vpon him, and he that lyeth, shall no more rise.

Uma doença maligna está posta sobre ele; e aquele que está deitado não se levantará mais.

9 Yea, my familiar friend, whom I trusted, which did eate of my bread, hath lifted vp the heele against me.

Até o homem [que era] meu amigo íntimo, em quem eu confiava, que comia do meu pão; grandemente levantou contra mim seu calcanhar.

10 Therefore, O Lord, haue mercy vpon mee, and raise me vp: so I shall reward them.

Porém tu, SENHOR, tem piedade de mim, e levanta-me; e eu lhes darei o pagamento [que merecem].

11 By this I know that thou fauourest me, because mine enemie doth not triumph against me.

Por isto eu sei que tu te agradas de mim: porque meu inimigo não se declara vencedor sobre mim;

12 And as for me, thou vpholdest me in mine integritie, and doest set me before thy face for euer.

E quanto a mim, tu me sustentas em minha sinceridade; e tu me puseste diante de ti para sempre.

13 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel worlde without ende. So be it, euen so be it.

Bendito [seja] o SENHOR, Deus de Israel, para todo o sempre! Amém e Amém!
