< Psalms 39 >
1 To the excellent musician Ieduthun. I thought, I will take heede to my wayes, that I sinne not with my tongue: I will keepe my mouth brideled, while the wicked is in my sight.
Thaburi ya Daudi Ndoigire atĩrĩ, “Ndĩĩmenyagĩrĩra mĩthiĩre yakwa, ndĩrigagĩrĩrie ndikehie na rũrĩmĩ rwakwa; nĩnguoha kanua gakwa rĩrĩa rĩothe mũndũ mwaganu arĩ harĩa ndĩ.”
2 I was dumme and spake nothing: I kept silece euen from good, and my sorow was more stirred.
No rĩrĩa ndakirĩte na ngahoorera, itekwaria o na ũndũ mwega-rĩ, ruo rwakwa rũgĩkĩrĩrĩria kuongerereka.
3 Mine heart was hote within me, and while I was musing, the fire kindeled, and I spake with my tongue, saying,
Ngoro yakwa yahĩĩahĩaga thĩinĩ wakwa, na o rĩrĩa ndecũũranagia, mwaki ũgĩakana; hĩndĩ ĩyo ngĩaria na rũrĩmĩ rwakwa, ngiuga atĩrĩ:
4 Lord, let me know mine ende, and the measure of my dayes, what it is: let mee knowe howe long I haue to liue.
“Wee Jehova, nyonia mũthia wa mũtũũrĩre wakwa, o na mũigana wa matukũ makwa; nĩngĩmenye ũrĩa mũtũũrĩre wakwa ũrĩ wa gũthira na ihenya.
5 Beholde, thou hast made my dayes as an hand breadth, and mine age as nothing in respect of thee: surely euery man in his best state is altogether vanitie. (Selah)
Ũtũmĩte matukũ makwa makuhĩhe ta rũhĩ; mũigana wa mĩaka yakwa ti ta kĩndũ harĩwe. Mũndũ o wothe ũrĩ muoyo o na rĩrĩa ehaandĩte wega nĩ kĩndũ gĩa tũhũ.
6 Doubtlesse man walketh in a shadowe, and disquieteth himselfe in vaine: he heapeth vp riches, and cannot tell who shall gather them.
Ti-itherũ mũndũ nĩ ta kĩĩruru rĩrĩa egũcangacanga: Mĩhangʼo ĩrĩa ehangʼagia nayo no ya tũhũ; eigagĩra ũtonga, no ndooĩ nũũ ũkeeguna naguo.
7 And now Lord, what wait I for? mine hope is euen in thee.
“No rĩu, Mwathani-rĩ, nĩ kĩĩ njetereire? Wee nĩwe mwĩhoko wakwa.
8 Deliuer me from all my transgressions, and make me not a rebuke vnto the foolish.
Honokia kuuma mehia-inĩ makwa mothe; ndũkareke thekererwo nĩ andũ arĩa akĩĩgu.
9 I should haue bene dumme, and not haue opened my mouth, because thou didest it.
Ndakirĩte ki; ndingĩatumũrire kanua gakwa, nĩgũkorwo nĩwe wekĩte ũguo.
10 Take thy plague away from mee: for I am consumed by the stroke of thine hand.
Njehereria ihũũra rĩaku; nĩhootetwo nĩ iringa rĩa guoko gwaku.
11 When thou with rebukes doest chastise man for iniquitie, thou as a mothe makest his beautie to consume: surely euery man is vanitie. (Selah)
We ũrũithagia na ũkaherithia andũ nĩ ũndũ wa mehia mao; ũniinaga ũtonga wao ta memenyi; mũndũ no ta kĩndũ gĩa tũhũ.
12 Heare my prayer, O Lord, and hearken vnto my cry: keepe not silence at my teares, for I am a strager with thee, and a soiourner as all my fathers.
“Igua ihooya rĩakwa, Wee Jehova, thikĩrĩria ngĩgũkaĩra ũndeithie; ndũkarege kũigua kĩrĩro gĩakwa. Nĩgũkorwo njikaranagia nawe ta ndĩ mũgeni, ngahaana ta mũndũ ũthaamĩire kuo, o ta ũrĩa maithe makwa mothe maatariĩ.
13 Stay thine anger from me, that I may recouer my strength, before I go hence and be not.
Wĩhũgũre na kũngĩ ũtige kũnyona, nĩguo ngĩkene rĩngĩ, itanathiĩ njage gũkorwo ho rĩngĩ.”
