Psalms 37
1 A Psalme of David. Fret not thy selfe because of the wicked men, neither be enuious for the euill doers.
दावीद की रचना दुष्टों के कारण मत कुढ़ो, कुकर्मियों से डाह मत करो;
2 For they shall soone bee cut downe like grasse, and shall wither as the greene herbe.
क्योंकि वे तो घास के समान शीघ्र मुरझा जाएंगे, वे हरे पौधे के समान शीघ्र नष्ट हो जाएंगे.
3 Trust thou in the Lord and do good: dwell in the land, and thou shalt be fed assuredly.
याहवेह में भरोसा रखते हुए वही करो, जो उपयुक्त है; कि तुम सुरक्षित होकर स्वदेश में खुशहाल निवास कर सको.
4 And delite thy selfe in the Lord, and hee shall giue thee thine hearts desire.
तुम्हारा आनंद याहवेह में मगन हो, वही तुम्हारे मनोरथ पूर्ण करेंगे.
5 Commit thy way vnto the Lord, and trust in him, and he shall bring it to passe.
याहवेह को अपने जीवन की योजनाएं सौंप दो; उन पर भरोसा करो और वे तुम्हारे लिए ये सब करेंगे:
6 And he shall bring foorth thy righteousnes as the light, and thy iudgement as the noone day.
वे तुम्हारी धार्मिकता को सबेरे के सूर्य के समान तथा तुम्हारी सच्चाई को मध्याह्न के सूर्य समान चमकाएंगे.
7 Waite patiently vpon the Lord and hope in him: fret not thy selfe for him which prospereth in his way: nor for the man that bringeth his enterprises to passe.
याहवेह के सामने चुपचाप रहकर धैर्यपूर्वक उन पर भरोसा करो; जब दुष्ट पुरुषों की युक्तियां सफल होने लगें अथवा जब वे अपनी बुराई की योजनाओं में सफल होने लगें तो मत कुढ़ो!
8 Cease from anger, and leaue off wrath: fret not thy selfe also to doe euill.
क्रोध से दूर रहो, कोप का परित्याग कर दो; कुढ़ो मत! इससे बुराई ही होती है.
9 For euill doers shalbe cut off, and they that wait vpon the Lord, they shall inherite the land.
कुकर्मी तो काट डाले जाएंगे, किंतु याहवेह के श्रद्धालुओं के लिए भाग आरक्षित है.
10 Therefore yet a litle while, and the wicked shall not appeare, and thou shalt looke after his place, and he shall not be found.
कुछ ही समय शेष है जब दुष्ट का अस्तित्व न रहेगा; तुम उसे खोजने पर भी न पाओगे.
11 But meeke men shall possesse the earth, and shall haue their delite in the multitude of peace.
किंतु नम्र लोग पृथ्वी के अधिकारी होंगे, वे बड़ी समृद्धि में आनंदित रहेंगे.
12 The wicked practiseth against the iust, and gnasheth his teeth against him.
दुष्ट धर्मियों के विरुद्ध बुरी युक्ति रचते रहते हैं, उन्हें देख दांत पीसते रहते हैं;
13 But the Lord shall laugh him to scorne: for he seeth, that his day is comming.
किंतु प्रभु दुष्ट पर हंसते हैं, क्योंकि वह जानते हैं कि उसके दिन समाप्त हो रहे हैं.
14 The wicked haue drawen their sworde, and haue bent their bowe, to cast downe the poore and needie, and to slay such as be of vpright conuersation.
दुष्ट तलवार खींचते हैं और धनुष पर डोरी चढ़ाते हैं कि दुःखी और दीन दरिद्र को मिटा दें, उनका वध कर दें, जो सीधे हैं.
15 But their sword shall enter into their owne heart, and their bowes shalbe broken.
किंतु उनकी तलवार उन्हीं के हृदय को छेदेगी और उनके धनुष टूट जाएंगे.
16 A small thing vnto the iust man is better, then great riches to the wicked and mightie.
दुष्ट की विपुल संपत्ति की अपेक्षा धर्मी की सीमित राशि ही कहीं उत्तम है;
17 For the armes of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord vpholdeth the iust men.
क्योंकि दुष्ट की भुजाओं का तोड़ा जाना निश्चित है, किंतु याहवेह धर्मियों का बल हैं.
18 The Lord knoweth the dayes of vpright men, and their inheritance shall bee perpetuall.
याहवेह निर्दोष पुरुषों की आयु पर दृष्टि रखते हैं, उनका निज भाग सर्वदा स्थायी रहेगा.
19 They shall not be confounded in the perilous time, and in the daies of famine they shall haue ynough.
संकट काल में भी उन्हें लज्जा का सामना नहीं करना पड़ेगा; अकाल में भी उनके पास भरपूर रहेगा.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be consumed as the fatte of lambes: euen with the smoke shall they consume away.
दुष्टों का विनाश सुनिश्चित है: याहवेह के शत्रुओं की स्थिति घास के वैभव के समान है, वे धुएं के समान विलीन हो जाएंगे.
21 The wicked boroweth and payeth not againe. but the righteous is mercifull, and giueth.
दुष्ट ऋण लेकर उसे लौटाता नहीं, किंतु धर्मी उदारतापूर्वक देता रहता है;
22 For such as be blessed of God, shall inherite the lande, and they that be cursed of him, shalbe cut off.
याहवेह द्वारा आशीषित पुरुष पृथ्वी के भागी होंगे, याहवेह द्वारा शापित पुरुष नष्ट कर दिए जाएंगे.
23 The pathes of man are directed by the Lord: for he loueth his way.
जिस पुरुष के कदम याहवेह द्वारा नियोजित किए जाते हैं, उसके आचरण से याहवेह प्रसन्न होते हैं;
24 Though he fall, hee shall not be cast off: for the Lord putteth vnder his hand.
तब यदि वह लड़खड़ा भी जाए, वह गिरेगा नहीं, क्योंकि याहवेह उसका हाथ थामे हुए हैं.
25 I haue beene yong, and am olde: yet I sawe neuer the righteous forsaken, nor his seede begging bread.
मैंने युवावस्था देखी और अब मैं प्रौढ़ हूं, किंतु आज तक मैंने न तो धर्मी को शोकित होते देखा है और न उसकी संतान को भीख मांगते.
26 But hee is euer mercifull and lendeth, and his seede enioyeth the blessing.
धर्मी सदैव उदार ही होते हैं तथा उदारतापूर्वक देते रहते हैं; आशीषित रहती है उनकी संतान.
27 Flee from euill and doe good, and dwell for euer.
बुराई से परे रहकर परोपकार करो; तब तुम्हारा जीवन सदैव सुरक्षित बना रहेगा.
28 For the Lord loueth iudgement, and forsaketh not his Saintes: they shall be preserued for euermore: but the seede of the wicked shall be cut off.
क्योंकि याहवेह को सच्चाई प्रिय है और वे अपने भक्तों का परित्याग कभी नहीं करते. वह चिरकाल के लिए सुरक्षित हो जाते हैं; किंतु दुष्ट की सन्तति मिटा दी जाएगी.
29 The righteous men shall inherit the lande, and dwell therein for euer.
धर्मी पृथ्वी के भागी होंगे तथा उसमें सर्वदा निवास करेंगे.
30 The mouth of the righteous will speake of wisedome, and his tongue will talke of iudgement.
धर्मी अपने मुख से ज्ञान की बातें कहता है, तथा उसकी जीभ न्याय संगत वचन ही उच्चारती है.
31 For the Lawe of his God is in his heart, and his steppes shall not slide.
उसके हृदय में उसके परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था बसी है; उसके कदम फिसलते नहीं.
32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
दुष्ट, जो धर्मी के प्राणों का प्यासा है, उसकी घात लगाए बैठा रहता है;
33 But the Lord wil not leaue him in his hand, nor condemne him, when he is iudged.
किंतु याहवेह धर्मी को दुष्ट के अधिकार में जाने नहीं देंगे और न ही न्यायालय में उसे दोषी प्रमाणित होने देंगे.
34 Waite thou on the Lord, and keepe his way, and he shall exalt thee, that thou shalt inherite the lande: when the wicked men shall perish, thou shalt see.
याहवेह की सहायता की प्रतीक्षा करो और उन्हीं के सन्मार्ग पर चलते रहो. वही तुमको ऐसा ऊंचा करेंगे, कि तुम्हें उस भूमि का अधिकारी कर दें; दुष्टों की हत्या तुम स्वयं अपनी आंखों से देखोगे.
35 I haue seene the wicked strong, and spreading himselfe like a greene bay tree.
मैंने एक दुष्ट एवं क्रूर पुरुष को देखा है जो उपजाऊ भूमि के हरे वृक्ष के समान ऊंचा था,
36 Yet he passed away, and loe, he was gone, and I sought him, but he could not be founde.
किंतु शीघ्र ही उसका अस्तित्व समाप्त हो गया; खोजने पर भी मैं उसे न पा सका.
37 Marke the vpright man, and beholde the iust: for the end of that man is peace.
निर्दोष की ओर देखो, खरे को देखते रहो; उज्जवल होता है शांत पुरुष का भविष्य.
38 But the transgressours shall be destroyed together, and the ende of the wicked shall bee cut off.
किंतु समस्त अपराधी नाश ही होंगे; दुष्टों की सन्तति ही मिटा दी जाएगी.
39 But the saluation of the righteous men shalbe of the Lord: he shalbe their strength in the time of trouble.
याहवेह धर्मियों के उद्धार का उगम स्थान हैं; वही विपत्ति के अवसर पर उनके आश्रय होते हैं.
40 For the Lord shall helpe them, and deliuer them: he shall deliuer them from the wicked, and shall saue them, because they trust in him.
याहवेह उनकी सहायता करते हुए उनको बचाते हैं; इसलिये कि धर्मी याहवेह का आश्रय लेते हैं, याहवेह दुष्ट से उनकी रक्षा करते हुए उनको बचाते हैं.
