Psalms 32
1 A Psalme of David to give instruction. Blessed is he whose wickednes is forgiuen, and whose sinne is couered.
Bienheureux ceux dont les iniquités ont été remises et dont les péchés ont été couverts.
2 Blessed is the man, vnto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquitie, and in whose spirite there is no guile.
Bienheureux l’homme à qui le Seigneur n’a pas imputé de péché, et dans l’esprit duquel il n’y a point de fraude.
3 When I helde my tongue, my bones consumed, or when I roared all the day,
Parce que je me suis tu, mes os ont vieilli, tandis que je criais tout le jour.
4 (For thine hand is heauie vpon me, day and night: and my moysture is turned into ye drought of summer. (Selah)
Parce que jour et nuit votre main s’est appesantie sur moi: je me suis retourné dans mon tourment, pendant qu’une épine était enfoncée dans mon cœur.
5 Then I acknowledged my sinne vnto thee, neither hid I mine iniquitie: for I thought, I will confesse against my selfe my wickednesse vnto the Lord, and thou forgauest the punishment of my sinne. (Selah)
Je vous ai fait connaître mon péché, et je ne vous ai point caché mon injustice. J’ai dit: Je confesserai contre moi mon injustice au Seigneur, et vous m’avez remis l’impiété de mon péché.
6 Therefore shall euery one, that is godly, make his prayer vnto thee in a time, when thou mayest be founde: surely in the flood of great waters they shall not come neere him.
À cause de cette impiété, tout saint vous adressera des prières en un temps favorable. Et même, dans leur déluge, de grandes eaux n’approcheront pas de lui.
7 Thou art my secret place: thou preseruest me from trouble: thou compassest me about with ioyfull deliuerance. (Selah)
C’est vous qui êtes mon refuge contre la tribulation qui m’a environné. O vous, mon exultation, arrachez-moi à ceux qui m’environnent.
8 I will instruct thee, and teache thee in the way that thou shalt goe, and I will guide thee with mine eye.
Je te donnerai l’intelligence, je t’enseignerai la voie par laquelle tu dois marcher: j’arrêterai sur toi mes yeux.
9 Be ye not like an horse, or like a mule, which vnderstand not: whose mouthes thou doest binde with bit and bridle, least they come neere thee.
Ne devenez point comme un cheval et un mulet, qui n’ont point d’intelligence. Resserre avec le mors et le frein la bouche de ceux qui ne s’approchent pas de toi.
10 Many sorowes shall come to the wicked: but he, that trusteth in the Lord, mercie shall compasse him.
De nombreux châtiments sont réservés au pécheur: mais celui qui espère dans le Seigneur, la miséricorde l’environnera.
11 Be glad ye righteous, and reioyce in the Lord, and be ioyfull all ye, that are vpright in heart.
Réjouissez-vous dans le Seigneur et exultez, justes, glorifiez-vous, vous tous, droits de cœur.
