Psalms 27

1 A Psalme of David. The Lord is my light and my saluation, whom shall I feare? the Lord is the strength of my life, of whome shall I be afraide?

Salmo di Davide IL Signore [è] la mia luce e la mia salute; Di chi temerò? Il Signore [è] la forza della mia vita; Di chi avrò paura?

2 When the wicked, euen mine enemies and my foes came vpon mee to eate vp my flesh; they stumbled and fell.

Quando i maligni mi hanno assalito per divorar la mia carne, Eglino stessi, i miei nemici ed avversari, son traboccati e caduti.

3 Though an hoste pitched against me, mine heart should not be afraide: though warre be raised against me, I will trust in this.

Avvegnachè [tutto] un campo si accampasse contro a me, Il mio cuore non avrebbe però paura; Benchè una battaglia si levasse contro a me, Io avrei confidanza in questo.

4 One thing haue I desired of the Lord, that I will require, euen that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the dayes of my life, to beholde the beautie of the Lord, and to visite his Temple.

Io ho chiesta una cosa al Signore, quella procaccerò: Che io dimori nella Casa del Signore tutti i giorni della mia vita, Per mirar la bellezza del Signore, E visitare il suo Tempio.

5 For in the time of trouble hee shall hide mee in his Tabernacle: in the secrete place of his pauillion shall he hide me, and set me vp vpon a rocke.

Perciocchè egli mi nasconderà nel suo tabernacolo, Nel giorno dell'avversità; Egli mi occulterà nel nascondimento del suo padiglione; Egli mi leverà ad alto sopra una roccia.

6 And nowe shall hee lift vp mine head aboue mine enemies rounde about mee: therefore wil I offer in his Tabernacle sacrifices of ioy: I wil sing and praise the Lord.

Anzi pure ora il mio capo s'innalzerà sopra i miei nemici [Che son] d'intorno a me; Ed io sacrificherò nel suo tabernacolo sacrificii con giubilo; Io canterò, e salmeggerò al Signore.

7 Hearken vnto my voyce, O Lord, when I crie: haue mercie also vpon mee and heare mee.

Signore, ascolta la mia voce, [colla quale] io grido; Ed abbi pietà di me, e rispondimi.

8 When thou saidest, Seeke ye my face, mine heart answered vnto thee, O Lord, I will seeke thy face.

Il mio cuore [mi] dice da parte tua: Cercate la mia faccia. Io cerco la tua faccia, o Signore.

9 Hide not therefore thy face from mee, nor cast thy seruat away in displeasure: thou hast bene my succour: leaue me not, neither forsake mee, O God of my saluation.

Non nascondere il tuo volto da me, Non rigettare in ira il tuo servitore; Tu sei stato il mio aiuto; non lasciarmi, e non abbandonarmi, O Dio della mia salute.

10 Though my father and my mother shoulde forsake me, yet the Lord will gather me vp.

Quantunque mio padre e mia madre mi avessero abbandonato, Pure il Signore mi accoglierà.

11 Teache mee thy way, O Lord, and leade me in a right path, because of mine enemies.

O Signore, insegnami la tua via, E giudami per un sentiero piano, Per cagione de' miei nemici.

12 Giue me not vnto the lust of mine aduersaries: for there are false witnesses risen vp against me, and such as speake cruelly.

Non darmi alle voglie de' miei nemici; Perciocchè son surti contro a me falsi testimoni, Ed uomini che audacemente parlano di violenza.

13 I should haue fainted, except I had beleeued to see the goodnes of the Lord in the land of the liuing.

Oh! se non avessi creduto di vedere i beni del Signore, Nella terra de' viventi!

14 Hope in the Lord: be strong, and he shall comfort thine heart, and trust in the Lord.

Attendi il Signore, Fortificati; ed egli conforterà il tuo cuore; Spera pur nel Signore.
