Psalms 26

1 A Psalme of David. Judge me, O Lord, for I haue walked in mine innocency: my trust hath bene also in the Lord: therefore shall I not slide.

Von David. - Urteile, Herr, ob ich in Unschuld nicht gewandelt und sonder Wanken auf den Herrn vertraut!

2 Proue me, O Lord, and trie mee: examine my reines, and mine heart.

Prüf mich, erprob mich, Herr! Rein ist mein Herz und mein Gewissen.

3 For thy louing kindnesse is before mine eyes: therefore haue I walked in thy trueth.

Denn Deine Güte schwebte mir vor Augen, und Dir getreu bin ich gewandelt.

4 I haue not hanted with vaine persons, neither kept companie with the dissemblers.

Bei schlechten Männern bin ich nie gesessen; hab nie mit Lichtscheuen Umgang gepflogen.

5 I haue hated the assemblie of the euill, and haue not companied with the wicked.

Ich haßte die Zusammenkunft der Bösen, und bei den Frevlern saß ich nicht.

6 I will wash mine handes in innocencie, O Lord, and compasse thine altar,

In Unschuld wasche ich die Hände und schreite gern um Deinen Altar, Herr.

7 That I may declare with the voyce of thankesgiuing, and set foorth all thy wonderous woorkes.

Ich lausche Deines Lobes Stimme und künde alle Deine Wunder.

8 O Lord, I haue loued the habitation of thine house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.

Ich liebe, Herr, den Aufenthalt in Deinem Hause, das Weilen an der Stätte Deiner Herrlichkeit.

9 Gather not my soule with the sinners, nor my life with the bloodie men:

Raff meine Seele nicht mit Sündern hin, mein Leben nicht mit Mordgesellen,

10 In whose handes is wickednes, and their right hand is full of bribes.

in deren Händen Schandtat käuflich ist, und deren Rechte voll ist von Bestechung!

11 But I will walke in mine innocencie: redeeme me therefore, and be mercifull vnto me.

Ich aber wandle hin in meiner Unschuld. Erlöse mich! Und sei mir gnädig!

12 My foote standeth in vprightnesse: I will praise thee, O Lord, in the Congregations.

Betritt mein Fuß dann ebnen Weg, lobpreise ich Dich, Herr, mit Chören.
