< Psalms 23 >
1 A Psalme of David. The Lord is my shepheard, I shall not want.
A psalm for David. The Lord ruleth me: and I shall want nothing.
2 He maketh me to rest in greene pasture, and leadeth me by the still waters.
He hath set me in a place of pasture. He hath brought me up, on the water of refreshment:
3 He restoreth my soule, and leadeth me in the paths of righteousnesse for his Names sake.
He hath converted my soul. He hath led me on the paths of justice, for his own name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I should walke through the valley of the shadowe of death, I will feare no euill: for thou art with me: thy rod and thy staffe, they comfort me.
For though I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evils, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they have comforted me.
5 Thou doest prepare a table before me in the sight of mine aduersaries: thou doest anoynt mine head with oyle, and my cuppe runneth ouer.
Thou hast prepared a table before me against them that afflict me. Thou hast anointed my head with oil; and my chalice which inebriateth me, how goodly is it!
6 Doubtlesse kindnesse and mercie shall follow me all the dayes of my life, and I shall remaine a long season in the house of the Lord.
And thy mercy will follow me all the days of my life. And that I may dwell in the house of the Lord unto length of days.
