Psalms 21
1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. The King shall reioyce in thy strength, O Lord: yea how greatly shall he reioyce in thy saluation!
Dem Sangmeister. Ein Psalm Davids. Jehovah, in Deiner Stärke ist fröhlich der König, und wie frohlockt er so sehr in Deinem Heil!
2 Thou hast giuen him his hearts desire, and hast not denyed him the request of his lips. (Selah)
Seines Herzens Sehnen hast Du ihm gegeben, und den Wunsch seiner Lippen ihm nicht vorenthalten! (Selah)
3 For thou diddest preuent him with liberall blessings, and didest set a crowne of pure gold vpon his head.
Denn Du kommst ihm zuvor mit Segnungen des Guten, und setzest eine Krone feinen Goldes auf sein Haupt.
4 He asked life of thee, and thou gauest him a long life for euer and euer.
Leben erbat er von Dir, Du hast es ihm gegeben, Länge der Tage ewig und immerfort.
5 His glory is great in thy saluation: dignitie and honour hast thou laid vpon him.
Groß ist seine Herrlichkeit in Deinem Heil; Majestät und Ehre legst Du auf ihn.
6 For thou hast set him as blessings for euer: thou hast made him glad with the ioy of thy countenance.
Denn Du machst ihn zum Segen immerfort, und erheiterst ihn mit Fröhlichkeit vor Deinem Angesicht.
7 Because the King trusteth in the Lord, and in the mercie of the most High, he shall not slide.
Denn der König vertraut auf Jehovah, und in des Allerhöchsten Barmherzigkeit wird er nicht wanken.
8 Thine hand shall finde out all thine enemies, and thy right hand shall finde out them that hate thee.
Deine Hand findet alle Deine Feinde, Deine Rechte trifft die, so Dich hassen.
9 Thou shalt make them like a fierie ouen in time of thine anger: the Lord shall destroy them in his wrath, and the fire shall deuoure them.
Du setzest sie wie einen Ofen des Feuers zur Zeit deines Angesichts. In Seinem Zorne verschlingt sie Jehovah, und Feuer frißt sie auf.
10 Their fruite shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seede from the children of men.
Ihre Frucht wirst von der Erde Du zerstören, ihren Samen von den Söhnen des Menschen.
11 For they intended euill against thee, and imagined mischiefe, but they shall not preuaile.
Denn wider Dich spannten sie aus das Böse, haben Tücke sich ausgedacht, nichts haben sie vermocht.
12 Therefore shalt thou put them aparte, and the strings of thy bowe shalt thou make readie against their faces.
Denn Du setzest wider sie die Schulter, Du zielst mit Deiner Sehne auf ihr Angesicht.
13 Be thou exalted, O Lord, in thy strength: so will we sing and prayse thy power.
Erhöhe Dich, Jehovah, in Deiner Stärke; so singen und lobpreisen wir Deine Macht.
