< Psalms 20 >

1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. The Lord heare thee in the day of trouble: the name of ye God of Iaakob defend thee:
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee.
2 Send thee helpe from the Sanctuarie, and strengthen thee out of Zion.
Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.
3 Let him remember all thine offerings, and turne thy burnt offerings into asshes. (Selah)
Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt-sacrifice. (Selah)
4 And graunt thee according to thine heart, and fulfill all thy purpose:
Grant thee according to thy own heart, and fulfill all thy counsel.
5 That we may reioyce in thy saluation, and set vp the banner in the Name of our God, when the Lord shall performe all thy petitions.
We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up [our] banners: the LORD fulfill all thy petitions.
6 Now know I that the Lord will helpe his anointed, and will heare him from his Sanctuarie, by the mightie helpe of his right hand.
Now I know that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of ye Lord our God.
Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
8 They are brought downe and fallen, but we are risen, and stand vpright.
They are brought down and fallen: but we are raised, and stand upright.
9 Saue Lord: let the King heare vs in the day that we call.
Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.
