Psalms 16
1 Michtam of Dauid. Preserue mee, O God: for in thee doe I trust.
Ein gülden Kleinod Davids. Bewahre mich, Gott; denn ich traue auf dich.
2 O my soule, thou hast sayd vnto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my weldoing extendeth not to thee,
Ich habe gesagt zu dem HERRN: Du bist ja der HERR, ich muß um deinetwillen leiden.
3 But to the Saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent: all my delite is in them.
Für die Heiligen, so auf Erden sind, und für die HERRLIchen; an denen habe ich all mein Gefallen.
4 The sorowes of them, that offer to an other god, shall be multiplied: their offerings of blood will I not offer, neither make mention of their names with my lips.
Aber jene, die einem andern nacheilen, werden groß Herzeleid haben. Ich will ihres Trankopfers mit dem Blut nicht opfern, noch ihren Namen in meinem Munde führen.
5 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou shalt mainteine my lot.
Der HERR aber ist mein Gut und mein Teil; du erhältst mein Erbteil.
6 The lines are fallen vnto me in pleasant places: yea, I haue a faire heritage.
Das Los ist mir gefallen aufs Liebliche; mir ist ein schön Erbteil worden.
7 I wil prayse the Lord, who hath giuen me counsell: my reines also teach me in the nightes.
Ich lobe den HERRN, der mir geraten hat; auch züchtigen mich meine Nieren des Nachts.
8 I haue set the Lord alwayes before me: for hee is at my right hand: therefore I shall not slide.
Ich habe den HERRN allezeit vor Augen; denn er ist mir zur Rechten, darum werde ich wohl bleiben.
9 Wherefore mine heart is glad and my tongue reioyceth: my flesh also doeth rest in hope.
Darum freuet sich mein Herz, und meine Ehre ist fröhlich, auch mein Fleisch wird sicher liegen.
10 For thou wilt not leaue my soule in the graue: neither wilt thou suffer thine holy one to see corruption. (Sheol h7585)
Denn du wirst meine Seele nicht in der Hölle lassen und nicht zugeben, daß dein Heiliger verwese. (Sheol h7585)
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is the fulnesse of ioy: and at thy right hand there are pleasures for euermore.
Du tust mir kund den Weg zum Leben; vor dir ist Freude die Fülle und lieblich Wesen zu deiner Rechten ewiglich.
