Psalms 148

1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heauen: prayse ye him in the high places.

Halleluja! Ylistäkää Herraa taivaista, ylistäkää häntä korkeuksissa.

2 Prayse ye him, all ye his Angels: praise him, all his armie.

Ylistäkää häntä, kaikki hänen enkelinsä, ylistäkää häntä, kaikki hänen sotajoukkonsa.

3 Prayse ye him, sunne and moone: prayse ye him all bright starres.

Ylistäkää häntä, aurinko ja kuu, ylistäkää häntä, kaikki kirkkaat tähdet.

4 Prayse ye him, heauens of heauens, and waters, that be aboue the heauens.

Ylistäkää häntä, te taivasten taivaat, te vedet taivasten päällä.

5 Let them prayse the Name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.

Ylistäkööt ne Herran nimeä, sillä hän käski, ja ne tulivat luoduiksi.

6 And he hath established them for euer and euer: he hath made an ordinance, which shall not passe.

Ja hän asetti ne olemaan aina ja iankaikkisesti, hän antoi niille lain, josta ne eivät poikkea.

7 Prayse ye the Lord from the earth, ye dragons and all depths:

Ylistäkää Herraa maasta, te merieläimet ja kaikki syvyydet,

8 Fire and hayle, snowe and vapours, stormie winde, which execute his worde:

tuli ja rakeet, lumi ja sumu, sinä myrskytuuli, joka panet hänen käskynsä toimeen,

9 Mountaines and all hils, fruitfull trees and all ceders:

te vuoret ja kaikki kukkulat, te hedelmäpuut ja kaikki setrit,

10 Beasts and all cattell, creeping things and fethered foules:

te pedot ja kaikki karja, te matelijat ja siivekkäät linnut,

11 Kings of the earth and all people, princes and all iudges of the worlde:

te maan kuninkaat ja kaikki kansakunnat, te ruhtinaat ja kaikki maan tuomarit,

12 Yong men and maidens, also olde men and children:

te nuorukaiset ynnä neitsyet, te vanhat yhdessä nuorten kanssa.

13 Let them prayse the Name of the Lord: for his Name onely is to be exalted, and his prayse aboue the earth and the heauens.

Ylistäkööt he Herran nimeä, sillä hänen nimensä yksin on korkea, hänen valtasuuruutensa ulottuu yli maan ja taivaan.

14 For he hath exalted the horne of his people, which is a prayse for all his Saintes, euen for the children of Israel, a people that is neere vnto him. Prayse ye the Lord.

Hän on korottanut sarven kansallensa, että häntä ylistäisivät kaikki hänen hurskaansa, Israelin lapset, kansa, joka on häntä lähellä. Halleluja!
