Psalms 143
1 A Psalme of David. Heare my prayer, O Lord, and hearken vnto my supplication: answer me in thy trueth and in thy righteousnes.
Psaume de David. Éternel, écoute ma prière, prête l’oreille à mes supplications! Exauce-moi dans ta fidélité, dans ta justice!
2 (And enter not into iudgement with thy seruant: for in thy sight shall none that liueth, be iustified)
N’entre pas en jugement avec ton serviteur! Car aucun vivant n’est juste devant toi.
3 For the enemie hath persecuted my soule: he hath smitten my life downe to the earth: he hath layde me in the darkenes, as they that haue bene dead long agoe:
L’ennemi poursuit mon âme, Il foule à terre ma vie; Il me fait habiter dans les ténèbres, Comme ceux qui sont morts depuis longtemps.
4 And my spirit was in perplexitie in me, and mine heart within me was amased.
Mon esprit est abattu au-dedans de moi, Mon cœur est troublé dans mon sein.
5 Yet do I remember the time past: I meditate in all thy workes, yea, I doe meditate in the workes of thine hands.
Je me souviens des jours d’autrefois, Je médite sur toutes tes œuvres, Je réfléchis sur l’ouvrage de tes mains.
6 I stretche forth mine hands vnto thee: my soule desireth after thee, as the thirstie land. (Selah)
J’étends mes mains vers toi; Mon âme soupire après toi, comme une terre desséchée. (Pause)
7 Heare me spedely, O Lord, for my spirit faeleth: hide not thy face from me, els I shall be like vnto them that go downe into the pit.
Hâte-toi de m’exaucer, ô Éternel! Mon esprit se consume. Ne me cache pas ta face! Je serais semblable à ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
8 Let me heare thy louing kindenes in the morning, for in thee is my trust: shewe mee the waie, that I should walke in, for I lift vp my soule vnto thee.
Fais-moi dès le matin entendre ta bonté! Car je me confie en toi. Fais-moi connaître le chemin où je dois marcher! Car j’élève à toi mon âme.
9 Deliuer me, O Lord, from mine enemies: for I hid me with thee.
Délivre-moi de mes ennemis, ô Éternel! Auprès de toi je cherche un refuge.
10 Teach me to do thy will, for thou art my God: let thy good Spirit leade me vnto the land of righteousnes.
Enseigne-moi à faire ta volonté! Car tu es mon Dieu. Que ton bon esprit me conduise sur la voie droite!
11 Quicken me, O Lord, for thy Names sake, and for thy righteousnes bring my soule out of trouble.
A cause de ton nom, Éternel, rends-moi la vie! Dans ta justice, retire mon âme de la détresse!
12 And for thy mercy slay mine enemies, and destrie all them that oppresse my soule: for I am thy seruant.
Dans ta bonté, anéantis mes ennemis, Et fais périr tous les oppresseurs de mon âme! Car je suis ton serviteur.
