Psalms 135
1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Name of the Lord: ye seruants of the Lord, praise him.
Alleluja! Lobpreist des Herren Namen! Lobpreist ihn ihr, des Herren Diener,
2 Ye that stande in the House of the Lord, and in the courtes of the House of our God,
die ihr im Haus des Herren weilet, in unseres Gotteshauses Höfen!
3 Praise ye the Lord: for the Lord is good: sing praises vnto his Name: for it is a comely thing.
Singt Alleluja! Denn der Herr ist gut. Singt seinem Namen! Er ist liebreich,
4 For the Lord hath chosen Iaakob to himselfe, and Israel for his chiefe treasure.
hat doch der Herr sich Jakob auserkoren, zu seinem Eigentum sich Israel. -
5 For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is aboue all gods.
Ich weiß, der Herr ist so gewaltig, daß unser Herr die Götter alle überragt.
6 Whatsoeuer pleased the Lord, that did hee in heauen and in earth, in the sea, and in all the depths.
Der Herr tut, was er will, im Himmel und auf Erden, im Meer und in den Tiefen all.
7 He bringeth vp the cloudes from the ends of the earth, and maketh the lightnings with ye raine: he draweth foorth the winde out of his treasures.
Der Du heraufführst Wolken von der Erde Ende und Blitze für den Regen bildest, der Du den Wind aus seinen Kammern lässest,
8 He smote the first borne of Egypt both of man and beast.
der Du die Erstgeburt Ägyptens schlugest, vom Menschen bis zum Vieh,
9 He hath sent tokens and wonders into the middes of thee, O Egypt, vpon Pharaoh, and vpon all his seruants.
und in Ägypten wunderbare Zeichen an Pharao und allen seinen Knechten tatest
10 He smote many nations, and slew mightie Kings:
und große Völker niederschlugst und starke Könige vertilgtest,
11 As Sihon King of the Amorites, and Og King of Bashan, and all the kingdomes of Canaan:
den Amoriterkönig Sichon, den Basankönig Og und alle Reiche Kanaans
12 And gaue their lande for an inheritance, euen an inheritance vnto Israel his people.
und deren Land zum ewigen Besitze machtest, zum ewigen Besitze Deines Volkes Israel.
13 Thy Name, O Lord, endureth for euer: O Lord, thy remembrance is from generation to generation.
Dein Name ist auf ewig "Herr", für alle Zeiten wirst Du "Herr" genannt. -
14 For the Lord will iudge his people, and be pacified towardes his seruants.
Der Herr schafft seinem Volke Recht, erbarmt sich seiner Diener.
15 The idoles of the heathen are siluer and golde, euen the worke of mens handes.
Der Heiden Götzen sind von Gold und Silber, der Menschenhände Werk.
16 They haue a mouth, and speake not: they haue eyes and see not.
Sie haben einen Mund und reden nicht und Augen, doch sie sehen nicht.
17 They haue eares and heare not, neither is there any breath in their mouth.
Nicht hören sie mit ihren Ohren; kein Odem ist in ihrem Mund.
18 They that make them, are like vnto them: so are all that trust in them.
Wie sie, so sollen werden, die sie machen, und so, wer sich auf sie verläßt! -
19 Praise the Lord, ye house of Israel: praise the Lord, ye house of Aaron.
Lobpreis den Herrn, Haus Israel! Du Aaronshaus, Lobpreis den Herrn!
20 Praise the Lord, ye house of Leui: ye that feare the Lord, praise the Lord.
Du Levis Haus, Lobpreis den Herrn! Die ihr den Herrn fürchtet, preist den Herrn!
21 Praised bee the Lord out of Zion, which dwelleth in Ierusalem. Praise ye the Lord.
Gepriesen sei der Herr von Sion aus, der thronet zu Jerusalem! Alleluja!
