Psalms 135
1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Name of the Lord: ye seruants of the Lord, praise him.
Alléluia! Louez le nom de l'Éternel, louez-le, serviteurs de l'Éternel,
2 Ye that stande in the House of the Lord, and in the courtes of the House of our God,
qui vous tenez dans la maison de l'Éternel, dans les parvis de la maison de notre Dieu!
3 Praise ye the Lord: for the Lord is good: sing praises vnto his Name: for it is a comely thing.
Louez Dieu! car l'Éternel est bon; célébrez son nom! car Il est clément.
4 For the Lord hath chosen Iaakob to himselfe, and Israel for his chiefe treasure.
Car l'Éternel s'est choisi Jacob, Israël, pour son héritage.
5 For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is aboue all gods.
Car je sais que l'Éternel est grand, et notre Seigneur, plus grand que tous les dieux.
6 Whatsoeuer pleased the Lord, that did hee in heauen and in earth, in the sea, and in all the depths.
Tout ce qu'il veut, l'Éternel le fait, dans les Cieux et sur la terre, dans les mers et dans tous les abîmes.
7 He bringeth vp the cloudes from the ends of the earth, and maketh the lightnings with ye raine: he draweth foorth the winde out of his treasures.
C'est lui qui fait lever les nuages des bouts de la terre, succéder la pluie à la foudre, et sortir les vents de ses arsenaux;
8 He smote the first borne of Egypt both of man and beast.
qui frappa les premiers-nés de l'Egypte, depuis les hommes jusqu'aux animaux;
9 He hath sent tokens and wonders into the middes of thee, O Egypt, vpon Pharaoh, and vpon all his seruants.
produisit dans ton sein, ô Egypte, des signes et des miracles contre Pharaon et tous ses serviteurs;
10 He smote many nations, and slew mightie Kings:
Qui défit des peuples nombreux, et ôta la vie à des rois puissants,
11 As Sihon King of the Amorites, and Og King of Bashan, and all the kingdomes of Canaan:
à Sihon, roi de l'Amoréen, et à Og, roi de Basan, et à tous les rois de Canaan,
12 And gaue their lande for an inheritance, euen an inheritance vnto Israel his people.
et donna leur pays en héritage, en héritage à Israël, son peuple.
13 Thy Name, O Lord, endureth for euer: O Lord, thy remembrance is from generation to generation.
Seigneur, ton nom est éternel, et ta mémoire se transmet d'âge en âge.
14 For the Lord will iudge his people, and be pacified towardes his seruants.
Car l'Etemel est le défenseur de son peuple, et Il prend pitié de ses serviteurs.
15 The idoles of the heathen are siluer and golde, euen the worke of mens handes.
Les idoles des nations sont de l'argent et de l'or, c'est l'ouvrage de mains d'homme.
16 They haue a mouth, and speake not: they haue eyes and see not.
Elles ont une bouche, et ne parlent point; des yeux, et ne voient point;
17 They haue eares and heare not, neither is there any breath in their mouth.
des oreilles, et n'entendent point; et même leur bouche ne respire point;
18 They that make them, are like vnto them: so are all that trust in them.
semblables à elles sont ceux qui les fabriquent, tous ceux qui mettent en elles leur confiance.
19 Praise the Lord, ye house of Israel: praise the Lord, ye house of Aaron.
Maison d'Israël, bénissez l'Éternel! Maison d'Aaron, bénissez l'Éternel!
20 Praise the Lord, ye house of Leui: ye that feare the Lord, praise the Lord.
Maison de Lévi, bénissez l'Éternel! Adorateurs de l'Éternel, bénissez l'Éternel!
21 Praised bee the Lord out of Zion, which dwelleth in Ierusalem. Praise ye the Lord.
Que de Sion l'Éternel soit béni, lui qui réside en Jérusalem! Alléluia!
