Psalms 135

1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Name of the Lord: ye seruants of the Lord, praise him.

Louez Jah. Louez le nom de l’Éternel; louez-[le], serviteurs de l’Éternel,

2 Ye that stande in the House of the Lord, and in the courtes of the House of our God,

Qui vous tenez dans la maison de l’Éternel, dans les parvis de la maison de notre Dieu!

3 Praise ye the Lord: for the Lord is good: sing praises vnto his Name: for it is a comely thing.

Louez Jah! car l’Éternel est bon. Chantez des cantiques à [la gloire de] son nom! car il est agréable.

4 For the Lord hath chosen Iaakob to himselfe, and Israel for his chiefe treasure.

Car Jah s’est choisi Jacob, Israël pour son trésor particulier.

5 For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is aboue all gods.

Car je sais que l’Éternel est grand, et que notre Seigneur est au-dessus de tous les dieux.

6 Whatsoeuer pleased the Lord, that did hee in heauen and in earth, in the sea, and in all the depths.

Tout ce qu’il lui a plu de faire, l’Éternel l’a fait, dans les cieux et sur la terre, dans les mers et dans tous les abîmes,

7 He bringeth vp the cloudes from the ends of the earth, and maketh the lightnings with ye raine: he draweth foorth the winde out of his treasures.

Lui qui fait monter les vapeurs du bout de la terre, qui fait les éclairs pour la pluie, qui de ses trésors fait sortir le vent;

8 He smote the first borne of Egypt both of man and beast.

Lui qui a frappé les premiers-nés d’Égypte, depuis l’homme jusqu’à la bête;

9 He hath sent tokens and wonders into the middes of thee, O Egypt, vpon Pharaoh, and vpon all his seruants.

Qui a envoyé des signes et des prodiges au milieu de toi, ô Égypte! contre le Pharaon et contre tous ses serviteurs;

10 He smote many nations, and slew mightie Kings:

Qui a frappé de nombreuses nations et tué de puissants rois,

11 As Sihon King of the Amorites, and Og King of Bashan, and all the kingdomes of Canaan:

Sihon, roi des Amoréens, et Og, roi de Basan, et tous les royaumes de Canaan;

12 And gaue their lande for an inheritance, euen an inheritance vnto Israel his people.

Et qui a donné leur pays en héritage, en héritage à Israël, son peuple.

13 Thy Name, O Lord, endureth for euer: O Lord, thy remembrance is from generation to generation.

Éternel! ton nom est à toujours; Éternel! ta mémoire est de génération en génération.

14 For the Lord will iudge his people, and be pacified towardes his seruants.

Car l’Éternel jugera son peuple, et se repentira en faveur de ses serviteurs.

15 The idoles of the heathen are siluer and golde, euen the worke of mens handes.

Les idoles des nations sont de l’argent et de l’or, ouvrage de mains d’homme:

16 They haue a mouth, and speake not: they haue eyes and see not.

Elles ont une bouche, et ne parlent pas; elles ont des yeux, et ne voient pas;

17 They haue eares and heare not, neither is there any breath in their mouth.

Elles ont des oreilles, et n’entendent pas; il n’y a pas non plus de respiration dans leur bouche.

18 They that make them, are like vnto them: so are all that trust in them.

Ceux qui les ont faites, tous ceux qui se confient en elles, sont comme elles.

19 Praise the Lord, ye house of Israel: praise the Lord, ye house of Aaron.

Maison d’Israël, bénissez l’Éternel! Maison d’Aaron, bénissez l’Éternel!

20 Praise the Lord, ye house of Leui: ye that feare the Lord, praise the Lord.

Maison de Lévi, bénissez l’Éternel! Vous qui craignez l’Éternel, bénissez l’Éternel!

21 Praised bee the Lord out of Zion, which dwelleth in Ierusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

Béni soit, de Sion, l’Éternel, qui habite à Jérusalem! Louez Jah!
