Psalms 135
1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Name of the Lord: ye seruants of the Lord, praise him.
Lover Herrens Navn, lover, I Herrens Tjenere!
2 Ye that stande in the House of the Lord, and in the courtes of the House of our God,
I, som staa i Herrens Hus, i vor Guds Hus's Forgaarde.
3 Praise ye the Lord: for the Lord is good: sing praises vnto his Name: for it is a comely thing.
Lover Herren; thi Herren er god; lovsynger hans Navn; thi det er lifligt.
4 For the Lord hath chosen Iaakob to himselfe, and Israel for his chiefe treasure.
Thi Herren har udvalgt sig Jakob, Israel til sin Ejendom.
5 For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is aboue all gods.
Thi jeg ved, at Herren er stor, og at vor Herre er større end alle Guder.
6 Whatsoeuer pleased the Lord, that did hee in heauen and in earth, in the sea, and in all the depths.
Herren gør alt, hvad ham behager, i Himmelen og paa Jorden, i Havene og i alle Afgrunde.
7 He bringeth vp the cloudes from the ends of the earth, and maketh the lightnings with ye raine: he draweth foorth the winde out of his treasures.
Han gør, at Dampe opstige fra Jordens Grænse; han gør Lynene til Regn, han udfører Vejret af sine Forraadskamre.
8 He smote the first borne of Egypt both of man and beast.
Han, som slog de førstefødte i Ægypten, baade Mennesker og Dyr;
9 He hath sent tokens and wonders into the middes of thee, O Egypt, vpon Pharaoh, and vpon all his seruants.
han sendte Tegn og underlige Ting i din Midte, Ægypten! paa Farao og paa alle hans Tjenere;
10 He smote many nations, and slew mightie Kings:
han, som slog mange Folk og ihjelslog stærke Konger:
11 As Sihon King of the Amorites, and Og King of Bashan, and all the kingdomes of Canaan:
Amoriternes Konge Sihon og Basans Konge Og samt alle Riger i Kanaan;
12 And gaue their lande for an inheritance, euen an inheritance vnto Israel his people.
og han gav deres Land til Arv, til Arv for sit Folk Israel.
13 Thy Name, O Lord, endureth for euer: O Lord, thy remembrance is from generation to generation.
Herre! dit Navn bliver evindelig; Herre! din Ihukommelse bliver fra Slægt til Slægt.
14 For the Lord will iudge his people, and be pacified towardes his seruants.
Thi Herren skal dømme sit Folk, og det skal angre ham for hans Tjeneres Skyld.
15 The idoles of the heathen are siluer and golde, euen the worke of mens handes.
Hedningernes Afguder ere Sølv og Guld, et Menneskes Hænders Gerning.
16 They haue a mouth, and speake not: they haue eyes and see not.
De have Mund, men tale ikke; de have Øjne, men se ikke.
17 They haue eares and heare not, neither is there any breath in their mouth.
De have Øren, men høre ikke, og der er ingen Aande i deres Mund.
18 They that make them, are like vnto them: so are all that trust in them.
Ligesom disse ere, saa blive de, som gøre dem, ja, hver den, som forlader sig paa dem.
19 Praise the Lord, ye house of Israel: praise the Lord, ye house of Aaron.
Israels Hus! lover Herren; Arons Hus! lover Herren.
20 Praise the Lord, ye house of Leui: ye that feare the Lord, praise the Lord.
Levis Hus! lover Herren; I, som frygte Herren! lover Herren.
21 Praised bee the Lord out of Zion, which dwelleth in Ierusalem. Praise ye the Lord.
Lovet være Herren fra Zion, han, som bor i Jerusalem! Halleluja!
