Psalms 126

1 A song of degrees, or Psalme of David. When ye Lord brought againe the captiuitie of Zion, we were like them that dreame.

Als Jahwe Zions Wandrer in die Heimat führte, / Waren wir wie Träumende.

2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with ioye: then sayd they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.

Damals war unser Mund voll Lachens / Und unsre Zunge voll Jubels. / Damals sagte man unter den Heiden: / "Großes hat Jahwe an ihnen getan!"

3 The Lord hath done great things for vs, whereof we reioyce.

Ja, Großes hat Jahwe an uns getan: / Darüber waren wir fröhlich.

4 O Lord, bring againe our captiuitie, as the riuers in the South.

Wende nun, Jahwe, auch unser Geschick / Gleich Regenbächen im Mittagsland.

5 They that sowe in teares, shall reape in ioy.

Die mit Tränen säen, / Werden mit Jubel ernten.

6 They went weeping and caried precious seede: but they shall returne with ioye and bring their sheaues.

Wohl geht man jetzt mit Weinen dahin, / Indem man den Samen zur Aussaat trägt. / Aber man kommt mit Jubel an, / Indem man trägt seine Garben.
