< Psalms 124 >

1 A song of degrees, or Psalme of David. If the Lord had not bene on our side, (may Israel now say)

2 If the Lord had not bene on our side, when men rose vp against vs,
BAWIPA teh maimouh koe lah awm hoeh pawiteh, taminaw ni na taran awh navah,
3 They had then swallowed vs vp quicke, when their wrath was kindled against vs.
a lungkhuek awh vaiteh, maimouh hah hringo na payawp awh toe.
4 Then the waters had drowned vs, and the streame had gone ouer our soule:
Hatnavah, tui ni maimanaw teh muen na ramuk teh tui ka lawng e ni, maimae hringnae van muen a lawng sin toe.
5 Then had the swelling waters gone ouer our soule.
Puenghoi kalawng e tui ni maimae hringnae teh muen a lawng sin toe, tie hah doeh.
6 Praysed be the Lord, which hath not giuen vs as a praye vnto their teeth.
Ahnimouh ni hâ hoi na ai awh nahanelah, maimanaw hah ahnimouh koe na poe awh hoeh. BAWIPA teh pholen lah awm seh.
7 Our soule is escaped, euen as a bird out of the snare of the foulers: the snare is broken, and we are deliuered.
Maimae hringnae teh, tangkam dawk hoi kahlout e tava patetlah a hlout toe. Tangkam a lawt teh, maimouh hlout awh toe.
8 Our helpe is in the Name of the Lord, which hath made heauen and earth.
Maimouh kabawpnae teh, kalvan hoi talai ka sak e BAWIPA min lahoi coe awh.
