< Psalms 119 >
1 ALEPH. Blessed are those that are vpright in their way, and walke in the Lawe of the Lord.
How blessed! [are people] blameless of way those [who] walk in [the] law of Yahweh.
2 Blessed are they that keepe his testimonies, and seeke him with their whole heart.
How blessed! [are those who] observe testimonies his with all [the] heart they seek him.
3 Surely they woorke none iniquitie, but walke in his waies.
Also not they do injustice in ways his they walk.
4 Thou hast commanded to keepe thy precepts diligently.
You you have commanded precepts your to keep exceedingly.
5 Oh that my waies were directed to keepe thy statutes!
Would that! they will be steadfast ways my to keep decrees your.
6 Then should I not be confounded, when I haue respect vnto all thy commandements.
Then not I will be ashamed when look I to all commandments your.
7 I will praise thee with an vpright heart, when I shall learne the iudgements of thy righteousnesse.
I will give thanks to you in uprightness of heart when learn I [the] judgments of righteousness your.
8 I will keepe thy statutes: forsake mee not ouerlong.
Decrees your I will keep may not you forsake me up to muchness.
9 BETH. Wherewith shall a yong man redresse his waie? in taking heede thereto according to thy woorde.
How? will he keep pure a youth path his by keeping [it] according to word your.
10 With my whole heart haue I sought thee: let me not wander from thy commandements.
With all heart my I seek you may not you allow to stray me from commandments your.
11 I haue hid thy promise in mine heart, that I might not sinne against thee.
In heart my I have hidden word your so that not I will sin to you.
12 Blessed art thou, O Lord: teache mee thy statutes.
[be] blessed You O Yahweh teach me decrees your.
13 With my lippes haue I declared all the iudgements of thy mouth.
With lips my I recount all [the] judgments of mouth your.
14 I haue had as great delight in the way of thy testimonies, as in all riches.
In [the] way of testimonies your I exult as on all wealth.
15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and consider thy waies.
On precepts your I will meditate and I will pay attention to paths your.
16 I will delite in thy statutes, and I will not forget thy worde.
In statutes your I will delight myself not I will forget word your.
17 GIMEL. Be beneficiall vnto thy seruant, that I may liue and keepe thy woorde.
Deal bountifully towards servant your I will live and I will keep word your.
18 Open mine eies, that I may see the wonders of thy Lawe.
Uncover eyes my so let me pay attention to wonderful [things] from law your.
19 I am a stranger vpon earth: hide not thy commandements from me.
[am] a sojourner I on the earth may not you hide from me commandments your.
20 Mine heart breaketh for the desire to thy iudgements alway.
It is crushed self my for longing to judgments your at every time.
21 Thou hast destroied the proud: cursed are they that doe erre from thy commandements.
You rebuke arrogant [people] cursed [people] who go astray from commandments your.
22 Remoue from mee shame and contempt: for I haue kept thy testimonies.
Roll away from on me reproach and contempt for testimonies your I observe.
23 Princes also did sit, and speake against me: but thy seruant did meditate in thy statutes.
Also they sit officials in me they speak together servant your he meditates on decrees your.
24 Also thy testimonies are my delite, and my counsellers.
Also testimonies your [are] delight my [the] people of counsel my.
25 DALETH. My soule cleaueth to the dust: quicken me according to thy worde.
It clings to the dust self my preserve alive me according to word your.
26 I haue declared my waies, and thou heardest me: teache me thy statutes.
Ways my I recounted and you answered me teach me decrees your.
27 Make me to vnderstand ye way of thy precepts, and I will meditate in thy wondrous workes.
[the] way of Precepts your give understanding of me so let me meditate on wonders your.
28 My soule melteth for heauinesse: raise mee vp according vnto thy worde.
It weeps self my from grief strengthen me according to word your.
29 Take from mee the way of lying, and graunt me graciously thy Lawe.
A way of falsehood remove from me and law your show favor to me.
30 I haue chosen the way of trueth, and thy iudgements haue I laied before me.
A way of faithfulness I have chosen judgments your I have placed.
31 I haue cleaued to thy testimonies, O Lord: confound me not.
I have clung to testimonies your O Yahweh may not you put to shame me.
32 I will runne the way of thy commandements, when thou shalt enlarge mine heart.
[the] way of Commandments your I run for you enlarge heart my.
33 HE. Teach mee, O Lord, the way of thy statutes, and I will keepe it vnto the ende.
Teach me O Yahweh [the] way of decrees your so I may observe it end.
34 Giue mee vnderstanding, and I will keepe thy Law: yea, I wil keepe it with my whole heart.
Give understanding me so let me observe law your so I may keep it with all [the] heart.
35 Direct mee in the path of thy commandements: for therein is my delite.
Lead me in [the] path of commandments your for in it I delight.
36 Incline mine heart vnto thy testimonies, and not to couetousnesse.
Incline heart my to testimonies your and may not [it incline] to unjust gain.
37 Turne away mine eies from regarding vanitie, and quicken me in thy way.
Take away eyes my from looking at worthlessness in ways your preserve alive me.
38 Stablish thy promise to thy seruaunt, because he feareth thee.
Fulfill to servant your word your which [is] for fear your.
39 Take away my rebuke that I feare: for thy iudgements are good.
Take away reproach my which I dread for judgments your [are] good.
40 Beholde, I desire thy commandements: quicken me in thy righteousnesse,
Here! I long for precepts your in righteousness your preserve alive me.
41 VAV. And let thy louing kindnesse come vnto me, O Lord, and thy saluation according to thy promise.
And may they come to me covenant loyalti your O Yahweh salvation your according to word your.
42 So shall I make answere vnto my blasphemers: for I trust in thy woorde.
So I may answer [the] [one who] taunts me a word for I trust in word your.
43 And take not the woorde of trueth vtterly out of my mouth: for I waite for thy iudgements.
And may not you take away from mouth my a word of faithfulness up to muchness for for judgments your I hope.
44 So shall I alway keepe thy Lawe for euer and euer.
And I will keep law your continually for ever and ever.
45 And I will walke at libertie: for I seeke thy precepts.
And I will walk about in the broad place for precepts your I have sought.
46 I will speake also of thy testimonies before Kings, and will not be ashamed.
And I will speak in testimonies your before kings and not I will be ashamed.
47 And my delite shalbe in thy commandements, which I haue loued.
And I may delight myself in commandments your which I love.
48 Mine handes also will I lift vp vnto thy commandements, which I haue loued, and I will meditate in thy statutes.
And I may lift up hands my to commandments your which I love and I will meditate on decrees your.
49 ZAIN. Remember the promise made to thy seruant, wherein thou hast caused me to trust.
Remember [the] word to servant your on that you have made hope me.
50 It is my comfort in my trouble: for thy promise hath quickened me.
This [is] comfort my in affliction my that word your it has preserved alive me.
51 The proude haue had me exceedingly in derision: yet haue I not declined from thy Lawe.
Arrogant [people] they have mocked me up to muchness from law your not I have turned aside.
52 I remembred thy iudgements of olde, O Lord, and haue bene comforted.
I remember judgments your from long ago - O Yahweh and I have comforted myself.
53 Feare is come vpon mee for the wicked, that forsake thy Lawe.
Burning indignation it has seized me from wicked [people] [who] forsake law your.
54 Thy statutes haue beene my songes in the house of my pilgrimage.
Songs they have been of me decrees your in [the] house of sojournings my.
55 I haue remembred thy Name, O Lord, in the night, and haue kept thy Lawe.
I have remembered in the night name your O Yahweh and I have kept! law your.
56 This I had because I kept thy precepts.
This it has belonged to me that precepts your I have observed.
57 CHETH. O Lord, that art my portion, I haue determined to keepe thy wordes.
[is] portion My Yahweh I have said to keep words your.
58 I made my supplication in thy presence with my whole heart: be mercifull vnto me according to thy promise.
I have entreated face your with all [the] heart show favor to me according to word your.
59 I haue considered my waies, and turned my feete into thy testimonies.
I have thought about ways my and I have turned back! feet my to testimonies your.
60 I made haste and delaied not to keepe thy commandements.
I have made haste and not I have delayed to keep commandments your.
61 The bandes of the wicked haue robbed me: but I haue not forgotten thy Lawe.
[the] ropes of Wicked [people] they have surrounded me law your not I have forgotten.
62 At midnight will I rise to giue thanks vnto thee, because of thy righteous iudgements.
[the] middle of [the] night I arise to give thanks to you on [the] judgments of righteousness your.
63 I am companion of all them that feare thee, and keepe thy precepts.
[am] a companion I of all [those] who they fear you and of [those who] keep precepts your.
64 The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercie: teache me thy statutes.
Covenant loyalty your O Yahweh it is full the earth decrees your teach me.
65 TETH. O Lord, thou hast delt graciously with thy seruant according vnto thy woorde.
Good you have done with servant your O Yahweh according to word your.
66 Teach me good iudgement and knowledge: for I haue beleeued thy commandements.
Goodness of discernment and knowledge teach me for in commandments your I trust.
67 Before I was afflicted, I went astray: but nowe I keepe thy woorde.
Before I was afflicted I [was] going astray and now word your I keep.
68 Thou art good and gracious: teach me thy statutes.
[are] good You and [are] doing good teach me decrees your.
69 The proud haue imagined a lie against me: but I wil keepe thy precepts with my whole heart.
They have smeared on me falsehood arrogant [people] I with all [the] heart - I observe precepts your.
70 Their heart is fatte as grease: but my delite is in thy Lawe.
It is insensitive like fat heart their I law your I delight.
71 It is good for me that I haue beene afflicted, that I may learne thy statutes.
It was good for me that I was afflicted so that I may learn decrees your.
72 The Lawe of thy mouth is better vnto me, then thousands of golde and siluer.
[is] good For me [the] law of mouth your more than thousands of gold and silver.
73 IOD. Thine hands haue made me and fashioned me: giue mee vnderstanding therefore, that I may learne thy commandements.
Hands your they made me and they prepared me give understanding me so let me learn commandments your.
74 So they that feare thee, seeing mee shall reioyce, because I haue trusted in thy worde.
[those] fearing You may they see me and they may rejoice for for word your I have hoped.
75 I knowe, O Lord, that thy iudgements are right, and that thou hast afflicted me iustly.
I know O Yahweh that [are] righteousness judgments your and faithfulness you have afflicted me.
76 I pray thee that thy mercie may comfort me according to thy promise vnto thy seruant.
Let it be please covenant loyalty your to comfort me according to word your to servant your.
77 Let thy tender mercies come vnto me, that I may liue: for thy Lawe is my delite.
Let them come to me compassion your so I may live for law your [is] delight my.
78 Let the proude be ashamed: for they haue dealt wickedly and falsely with me: but I meditate in thy precepts.
Let them be ashamed arrogant [people] for falsehood they have subverted me I I will meditate on precepts your.
79 Let such as feare thee turne vnto me, and they that knowe thy testimonies.
Let them turn to me [those] fearing you (and [those who] know *Q(K)*) testimonies your.
80 Let mine heart bee vpright in thy statutes, that I be not ashamed.
May it be heart my blameless in decrees your so that not I will be ashamed.
81 CAPH. My soule fainteth for thy saluation: yet I waite for thy worde.
It is exhausted for salvation your being my for word your I hope.
82 Mine eyes faile for thy promise, saying, when wilt thou comfort me?
They are exhausted eyes my for word your saying when? will you comfort me.
83 For I am like a bottell in the smoke: yet doe I not forget thy statutes.
For I have become like a skin-bottle in smoke decrees your not I have forgotten.
84 Howe many are the dayes of thy seruant? When wilt thou execute iudgement on them that persecute me?
How many? [are] [the] days of servant your when? will you do in [those who] harass me judgment.
85 The proude haue digged pittes for mee, which is not after thy Lawe.
They have dug for me arrogant [people] pits which not [are] according to law your.
86 All thy commandements are true: they persecute me falsely: helpe me.
All commandments your [are] faithfulness falsehood they have harassed me help me.
87 They had almost consumed me vpon the earth: but I forsooke not thy precepts.
Like a little they have made an end of me on the earth and I not I have forsaken precepts your.
88 Quicken me according to thy louing kindnes: so shall I keepe the testimony of thy mouth.
According to covenant loyalty your preserve alive me so let me keep [the] testimony of mouth your.
89 LAMED. O Lord, thy worde endureth for euer in heauen.
For ever O Yahweh word your [is] standing firm in the heavens.
90 Thy trueth is from generation to generation: thou hast layed the foundation of the earth, and it abideth.
[is] to A generation and a generation faithfulness your you have established [the] earth and it endures.
91 They continue euen to this day by thine ordinances: for all are thy seruants.
For judgments your they stand forth this day for everything [are] servants your.
92 Except thy Lawe had bene my delite, I should now haue perished in mine affliction.
If not law your [had been] delight my then I perished in affliction my.
93 I wil neuer forget thy precepts: for by them thou hast quickened me.
For ever not I will forget precepts your for by them you have preserved alive me.
94 I am thine, saue me: for I haue sought thy precepts.
[belong] to You I save me for precepts your I have sought.
95 The wicked haue waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies.
For me they have waited wicked [people] to destroy me testimonies your I will consider carefully.
96 I haue seene an ende of all perfection: but thy commandement is exceeding large.
To all perfection I have seen an end [is] broad commandment your exceedingly.
97 MEM. Oh howe loue I thy Lawe! it is my meditation continually.
How! I love law your all the day it [is] meditation my.
98 By thy commandements thou hast made mee wiser then mine enemies: for they are euer with mee.
More than enemies my it makes wise me commandments your for for ever it [belongs] to me.
99 I haue had more vnderstading then all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my (meditation)
More than all teachers my I have insight for testimonies your [are] a meditation of me.
100 I vnderstoode more then the ancient, because I kept thy precepts.
More than old [people] I gain understanding for precepts your I have observed.
101 I haue refrained my feete from euery euil way, that I might keepe thy word.
From every path evil I have restrained feet my so that I may keep word your.
102 I haue not declined from thy iudgements: for thou didest teach me.
From judgments your not I have turned aside for you you have taught me.
103 Howe sweete are thy promises vnto my mouth! yea, more then hony vnto my mouth.
How! they are smooth to palate my word your more than honey to mouth my.
104 By thy precepts I haue gotten vnderstanding: therefore I hate all the wayes of falshoode.
From precepts your I gain understanding there-fore I hate - every path of falsehood.
105 NUN. Thy worde is a lanterne vnto my feete, and a light vnto my path.
[is] a lamp For foot my word your and a light for pathway my.
106 I haue sworne and will performe it, that I will keepe thy righteous iudgements.
I have sworn an oath and I have confirmed! to keep [the] judgments of righteousness your.
107 I am very sore afflicted: O Lord, quicken me according to thy word.
I have been afflicted up to muchness O Yahweh preserve alive me according to word your.
108 O Lord, I beseeche thee accept the free offerings of my mouth, and teach mee thy iudgements.
[the] freewill offerings of Mouth my accept please O Yahweh and judgments your teach me.
109 My soule is continually in mine hande: yet doe I not forget thy Lawe.
Life my [is] in hand my continually and law your not I forget.
110 The wicked haue layed a snare for mee: but I swarued not from thy precepts.
They have set wicked [people] a snare for me and from precepts your not I have gone astray.
111 Thy testimonies haue I taken as an heritage for euer: for they are the ioy of mine heart.
I have inherited testimonies your for ever for [are] [the] joy of heart my they.
112 I haue applied mine heart to fulfill thy statutes alway, euen vnto the ende.
I have turned heart my to do decrees your for ever end.
113 SAMECH. I hate vaine inuentions: but thy Lawe doe I loue.
Half-hearted people I hate and law your I love.
114 Thou art my refuge and shield, and I trust in thy worde.
[are] hiding place My and shield my you for word your I hope.
115 Away from mee, yee wicked: for I will keepe the commandements of my God.
Turn aside from me O evil-doers and let me observe [the] commandments of God my.
116 Stablish me according to thy promise, that I may liue, and disappoint me not of mine hope.
Sustain me according to word your so I may live and may not you put to shame me from hope my.
117 Stay thou mee, and I shall be safe, and I will delite continually in thy statutes.
Uphold me so let me be saved and I may have regard for decrees your continually.
118 Thou hast troden downe all them that depart from thy statutes: for their deceit is vaine.
You reject all [those who] go astray from decrees your for [is] falsehood deceitfulness their.
119 Thou hast taken away all ye wicked of the earth like drosse: therefore I loue thy testimonies.
Dross you cause to cease all [the] wicked [people] of [the] earth therefore I love testimonies your.
120 My flesh trembleth for feare of thee, and I am afraide of thy iudgements.
It trembles from dread of you flesh my and from judgments your I am afraid.
121 AIN. I haue executed iudgement and iustice: leaue me not to mine oppressours.
I have done justice and righteousness not you will abandon me to oppressors my.
122 Answere for thy seruant in that, which is good, and let not the proude oppresse me.
Stand surety for servant your for good may not they oppress me arrogant [people].
123 Mine eyes haue failed in waiting for thy saluation, and for thy iust promise.
Eyes my they are exhausted for deliverance your and for [the] word of righteousness your.
124 Deale with thy seruant according to thy mercie, and teache me thy statutes.
Do with servant your according to covenant loyalty your and decrees your teach me.
125 I am thy seruant: graunt mee therefore vnderstanding, that I may knowe thy testimonies.
[am] servant Your I give understanding me so let me know testimonies your.
126 It is time for thee Lord to worke: for they haue destroyed thy Lawe.
A time to act [belongs] to Yahweh people have broken law your.
127 Therefore loue I thy commandements aboue golde, yea, aboue most fine golde.
There-fore I love commandments your more than gold and more than pure gold.
128 Therefore I esteeme all thy precepts most iust, and hate all false wayes.
There-fore - all [the] precepts of everything I approve every path of falsehood I hate.
129 PE. Thy testimonies are wonderfull: therefore doeth my soule keepe them.
[are] wonders Testimonies your there-fore it observes them self my.
130 The entrance into thy wordes sheweth light, and giueth vnderstanding to the simple.
[the] opening of Words your it gives light [it is] giving understanding to simple people.
131 I opened my mouth and panted, because I loued thy commandements.
Mouth my I opened wide and I panted! for for commandments your I longed.
132 Looke vpon mee and bee mercifull vnto me, as thou vsest to doe vnto those that loue thy Name.
Turn to me and show favor to me according to custom to [those who] love name your.
133 Direct my steppes in thy worde, and let none iniquitie haue dominion ouer me.
Footsteps my direct by word your and may not it have power over me any wickedness.
134 Deliuer mee from the oppression of men, and I will keepe thy precepts.
Redeem me from oppression of humankind so let me keep precepts your.
135 Shew the light of thy countenance vpon thy seruant, and teache me thy statutes.
Face your make shine on servant your and teach me decrees your.
136 Mine eyes gush out with riuers of water, because they keepe not thy Lawe.
Streams of water they have gone down eyes my because not people keep law your.
137 TSADDI. Righteous art thou, O Lord, and iust are thy iudgements.
[are] righteous You O Yahweh and [are] upright judgments your.
138 Thou hast commanded iustice by thy testimonies and trueth especially.
You commanded righteousness testimonies your and faithfulness much.
139 My zeale hath euen consumed mee, because mine enemies haue forgotten thy wordes.
It has destroyed me zeal my for they have forgotten words your opponents my.
140 Thy word is prooued most pure, and thy seruant loueth it.
[has been] refined Word your exceedingly and servant your he loves it.
141 I am small and despised: yet do I not forget thy precepts.
[am] insignificant I and [am] despised precepts your not I have forgotten.
142 Thy righteousnesse is an euerlasting righteousnes, and thy Lawe is trueth.
Righteousness your [is] righteousness for ever and law your [is] truth.
143 Trouble and anguish are come vpon me: yet are thy commandements my delite.
Distress and anguish they have found me commandments your [are] delight my.
144 The righteousnes of thy testimonies is euerlasting: graunt me vnderstanding, and I shall liue.
[are] righteousness Testimonies your for ever give understanding me so I may live.
145 KOPH. I haue cried with my whole heart: heare me, O Lord, and I will keepe thy statutes.
I call out with all [the] heart answer me O Yahweh decrees your I will observe.
146 I called vpon thee: saue mee, and I will keepe thy testimonies.
I call out to you save me so let me keep testimonies your.
147 I preuented the morning light, and cried: for I waited on thy word.
I am early in the twilight and I cried for help! (for word your *Q(K)*) I hope.
148 Mine eyes preuent the night watches to meditate in thy word.
They anticipate eyes my [the] night-watches to meditate on word your.
149 Heare my voyce according to thy louing kindenesse: O Lord, quicken me according to thy iudgement.
Voice my hear! according to covenant loyalty your O Yahweh according to judgments your preserve alive me.
150 They drawe neere, that follow after malice, and are farre from thy Lawe.
They draw near [those who] pursue wickedness from law your they are distant.
151 Thou art neere, O Lord: for all thy commandements are true.
[are] near You O Yahweh and all commandments your [are] truth.
152 I haue knowen long since by thy testimonies, that thou hast established them for euer.
Antiquity I have known from testimonies your that for ever you have established them.
153 RESH. Beholde mine affliction, and deliuer mee: for I haue not forgotten thy Lawe.
See affliction my and rescue me for law your not I have forgotten.
154 Pleade my cause, and deliuer me: quicken me according vnto thy word.
Conduct! case my and redeem me to word your preserve alive me.
155 Saluation is farre from the wicked, because they seeke not thy statutes.
[is] far From wicked [people] salvation for decrees your not they have sought.
156 Great are thy tender mercies, O Lord: quicken me according to thy iudgements.
Compassion your [are] great - O Yahweh according to judgments your preserve alive me.
157 My persecutours and mine oppressours are many: yet doe I not swarue from thy testimonies.
[are] many [those who] harass Me and foes my from testimonies your not I have turned aside.
158 I saw the transgressours and was grieued, because they kept not thy worde.
I see [those who] act treacherously and I felt disgust! that word your not they have kept.
159 Consider, O Lord, how I loue thy preceptes: quicken mee according to thy louing kindenesse.
See that precepts your I love O Yahweh according to covenant loyalty your preserve alive me.
160 The beginning of thy worde is trueth, and all the iudgements of thy righteousnesse endure for euer.
[the] head of Word your [is] truth and [is] for ever every judgment of righteousness of your.
161 SCHIN. Princes haue persecuted mee without cause, but mine heart stood in awe of thy wordes.
Icials they have harassed me without cause (and from word your *Q(K)*) it is in dread heart my.
162 I reioyce at thy worde, as one that findeth a great spoyle.
[am] rejoicing I on word your like [one who] brings out plunder much.
163 I hate falshoode and abhorre it, but thy Lawe doe I loue.
Falsehood I hate and I abhor law your I love.
164 Seuen times a day doe I praise thee, because of thy righteous iudgements.
Seven [times] in the day I praise you on [the] judgments of righteousness your.
165 They that loue thy Law, shall haue great prosperitie, and they shall haue none hurt.
Peace great [belongs] to [those who] love law your and not [belongs] to them a stumbling block.
166 Lord, I haue trusted in thy saluation, and haue done thy commandements.
I wait for salvation your O Yahweh and commandments your I do.
167 My soule hath kept thy testimonies: for I loue them exceedingly.
It keeps self my testimonies your and I have loved them exceedingly.
168 I haue kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: for all my wayes are before thee.
I keep precepts your and testimonies your for all ways my [are] before you.
169 TAV. Let my complaint come before thee, O Lord, and giue me vnderstanding, according vnto thy worde.
May it draw near cry of entreaty my before you O Yahweh according to word your give understanding me.
170 Let my supplication come before thee, and deliuer me according to thy promise.
May it come supplication my before you according to word your deliver me.
171 My lippes shall speake praise, when thou hast taught me thy statutes.
May they pour forth lips my praise for you teach me decrees your.
172 My tongue shall intreate of thy word: for all thy commandements are righteous.
May it sing tongue my word your for all commandments your [are] righteousness.
173 Let thine hand helpe me: for I haue chosen thy precepts.
May it be hand your [about] to help me for precepts your I have chosen.
174 I haue longed for thy saluation, O Lord, and thy Lawe is my delite.
I long for salvation your O Yahweh and law your [is] delight my.
175 Let my soule liue, and it shall praise thee, and thy iudgements shall helpe me.
May it live self my so it may praise you and judgments your may they help me.
176 I haue gone astraye like a lost sheepe: seeke thy seruant, for I doe not forget thy commandements.
I have gone astray like a sheep lost seek servant your for commandments your not I have forgotten.
