Psalms 114

1 When Israel went out of Egypt, and the house of Iaakob from the barbarous people,

١ عِنْدَ خُرُوجِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنْ مِصْرَ، وَآلِ يَعْقُوبَ مِنْ بَيْنِ شَعْبٍ غَرِيبِ اللِّسَانِ.

2 Iudah was his sanctification, and Israel his dominion.

٢ صَارَ يَهُوذَا هَيْكَلاً مُقَدَّساً لَهُ، وَإِسْرَائِيلُ مَقَرَّ سُلْطَانِهِ.

3 The Sea sawe it and fled: Iorden was turned backe.

٣ رَأَى الْبَحْرُ الأَحْمَرُ ذَلِكَ فَهَرَبَ، وَتَرَاجَعَ نَهْرُ الأُرْدُنِّ إِلَى الْوَرَاءِ.

4 The mountaines leaped like rams, and the hils as lambes.

٤ قَفَزَتِ الْجِبَالُ كَأَنَّهَا كِبَاشٌ، وَالتِّلالُ كَأَنَّهَا حُمْلانٌ.

5 What ailed thee, O Sea, that thou fleddest? O Iorden, why wast thou turned backe?

٥ مَالَكَ يَا بَحْرُ قَدْ هَرَبْتَ، وَيَا أُرْدُنُّ قَدْ رَجَعْتَ إِلَى الْوَرَاءِ؟

6 Ye mountaines, why leaped ye like rams, and ye hils as lambes?

٦ مَالَكِ يَا جِبَالُ تَقْفِزِينَ كَالْكِبَاشِ، وَيَا تِلالُ كَالْحُمْلانِ؟

7 The earth trembled at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Iaakob,

٧ تَزَلْزَلِي يَا أَرْضُ فِي حَضْرَةِ الرَّبِّ إِلَهِ يَعْقُوبَ.

8 Which turneth the rocke into waterpooles, and the flint into a fountaine of water.

٨ الَّذِي حَوَّلَ الصَّخْرَةَ إِلَى جَدَاوِلَ، وَالصَّوَّانَ إِلَى يَنَابِيعِ مِيَاهٍ.
