Psalms 112

1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man, that feareth the Lord, and deliteth greatly in his commandements.

Halleluja! Salig er den mann som frykter Herren, som har sin store lyst i hans bud.

2 His seede shall be mightie vpon earth: the generation of the righteous shall be blessed.

Hans avkom skal være mektig på jorden; de opriktiges slekt skal velsignes.

3 Riches and treasures shalbe in his house, and his righteousnesse endureth for euer.

Det er velstand og rikdom i hans hus, og hans rettferdighet står fast evindelig.

4 Vnto the righteous ariseth light in darkenes: he is merciful and full of copassion and righteous.

Det går op et lys i mørket for de opriktige, for den som er nådig og barmhjertig og rettferdig.

5 A good man is mercifull and lendeth, and will measure his affaires by iudgement.

Lykkelig er den mann som forbarmer sig og låner ut; han hevder all sin sak i dommen.

6 Surely he shall neuer be moued: but the righteous shalbe had in euerlasting remembrance.

For han skal ikke rokkes evindelig; den rettferdige skal være i evig minne.

7 He will not be afraide of euill tidings: for his heart is fixed, and beleeueth in the Lord.

Han skal ikke frykte for nogen ond tidende; hans hjerte er fast, det setter sin lit til Herren.

8 His heart is stablished: therefore he will not feare, vntill he see his desire vpon his enemies.

Hans hjerte er trygt; han frykter ikke, inntil han ser med lyst på sine fiender.

9 He hath distributed and giuen to ye poore: his righteousnesse remaineth for euer: his horne shalbe exalted with glory.

Han har strødd ut, han har gitt de fattige; hans rettferdighet står fast evindelig, hans horn skal ophøies med ære.

10 The wicked shall see it and be angrie: he shall gnash with his teeth, and consume away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

Den ugudelige skal se det og harmes, han skal skjære tenner og optæres; de ugudeliges attrå blir til intet.
