Psalms 106
1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord because he is good, for his mercie endureth for euer.
| سپاس بر خداوند! خداوند را سپاس گویید، زیرا او نیکوست و محبتش ابدی. |
2 Who can expresse the noble actes of the Lord, or shewe forth all his prayse?
| کیست که بتواند تمام کارهای بزرگی را که خداوند انجام داده است بیان کند و شکر و سپاس او را آنچنان که باید و شاید، بجا آورد؟ |
3 Blessed are they that keepe iudgement, and doe righteousnesse at all times.
| خوشا به حال آنانی که با انصاف هستند و همیشه آنچه را راست است انجام می‌دهند. |
4 Remember me, O Lord, with the fauour of thy people: visite me with thy saluation,
| ای خداوند، هنگامی که بر قوم خود رحمت می‌فرمایی و آنها را نجات می‌دهی مرا نیز به یاد آور و نجات بده تا سعادت برگزیدگان تو را ببینم و با قوم تو شادی کنم و در فخر آنها شریک باشم. |
5 That I may see the felicitie of thy chosen, and reioyce in the ioy of thy people, and glorie with thine inheritance.
6 We haue sinned with our fathers: we haue committed iniquitie, and done wickedly.
| ما نیز مانند اجداد خود گناه کرده‌ایم؛ شرور و بدکار بوده‌ایم. |
7 Our fathers vnderstoode not thy wonders in Egypt, neither remembred they the multitude of thy mercies, but rebelled at the Sea, euen at the red sea.
| اجدادمان معجزات تو را در مصر درک ننمودند. آنها محبتهای تو را فراموش کردند و در کنار دریای سرخ از اطاعت تو سر باز زدند. |
8 Neuerthelesse he saued them for his Names sake, that he might make his power to be knowen.
| اما تو، به خاطر نام خود، آنها را نجات دادی و بدین وسیله قدرت خود را آشکار ساختی. |
9 And he rebuked the red Sea, and it was dryed vp, and he led them in the deepe, as in the wildernesse.
| دریای سرخ را امر فرمودی و خشک گردید و بنی‌اسرائیل را هدایت کردی تا از میان دریا که همچون بیابان، خشک شده بود گذر کنند. |
10 And he saued them from ye aduersaries hand, and deliuered them from ye hand of the enemie.
| آنها را از دست دشمنانشان رهانیدی و آزاد ساختی. |
11 And the waters couered their oppressours: not one of them was left.
| همه دشمنان آنها در دریا غرق شدند و حتی یکی از آنها نیز زنده نماند. |
12 Then beleeued they his wordes, and sang prayse vnto him.
| آنگاه قوم خداوند، به وعده‌های او ایمان آوردند و او را با سرود ستایش کردند. |
13 But incontinently they forgate his workes: they wayted not for his counsell,
| ولی طولی نکشید که معجزاتش را فراموش کردند و بدون مشورت با او به راه خود ادامه دادند. |
14 But lusted with concupiscence in the wildernes, and tempted God in the desert.
| آنها با خواسته‌های نفسانی خود، خدا را در صحرا امتحان کردند. |
15 Then he gaue them their desire: but he sent leannesse into their soule.
| خدا هم آنچه را که خواستند به ایشان داد، ولی آنها را به بیماری سختی مبتلا ساخت. |
16 They enuied Moses also in the tentes, and Aaron the holy one of the Lord.
| بنی‌اسرائیل در صحرا به موسی و هارون، پیشوایان برگزیده خداوند، حسد بردند. |
17 Therefore the earth opened and swallowed vp Dathan, and couered the companie of Abiram.
| آنگاه زمین دهان گشود و «داتان» و «ابیرام» را با خاندانشان فرو برد، |
18 And the fire was kindled in their assembly: the flame burnt vp the wicked.
| و آتش از آسمان بر طرفداران ایشان افروخته شد و آن مردم شرور را سوزانید. |
19 They made a calfe in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.
| بنی‌اسرائیل در دامنه کوه سینا بُتی گوساله شکل از طلا ساختند و آن را پرستش کردند. |
20 Thus they turned their glory into the similitude of a bullocke, that eateth grasse.
| آنها به جای عبادت خدای پرجلال، مجسمه گاو را پرستش نمودند. |
21 They forgate God their Sauiour, which had done great things in Egypt,
| آنها خدای نجات دهنده خود را خوار شمردند و کارهای شگفت‌انگیز او را در مصر سرزمین حام و دریای سرخ فراموش کردند. |
22 Wonderous woorkes in the lande of Ham, and fearefull things by the red Sea.
23 Therefore he minded to destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stand in the breach before him to turne away his wrath, least he shoulde destroy them.
| آنگاه خداوند خواست ایشان را هلاک کند، ولی خادم برگزیده او موسی به شفاعت برخاست و التماس نمود که از نابود کردن آنها بگذرد. |
24 Also they contemned that pleasant land, and beleeued not his worde,
| بنی‌اسرائیل نمی‌خواستند وارد سرزمین موعود شوند، چون به وعده خدا که گفته بود آن زمین را به ایشان می‌دهد، ایمان نداشتند. |
25 But murmured in their tentes, and hearkened not vnto the voice of the Lord.
| آنها در خیمه‌های خود پیوسته غرغر می‌کردند و به دستورهای خداوند گوش نمی‌دادند. |
26 Therefore hee lifted vp his hande against them, to destroy them in the wildernesse,
| از این رو، خداوند خواست ایشان را در صحرا نابود کند، |
27 And to destroy their seede among the nations, and to scatter them throughout the countries.
| و فرزندانشان را در سرزمینهای بیگانه پراکنده و آواره سازد. |
28 They ioyned themselues also vnto Baalpeor, and did eate the offrings of the dead.
| بنی‌اسرائیل در «فغور» به پرستش بت بعل پرداختند و از گوشت قربانیهایی که به بتهای بی‌جان تقدیم می‌شد، خوردند. |
29 Thus they prouoked him vnto anger with their owne inuentions, and the plague brake in vpon them.
| با این رفتار خود، خشم خداوند را برانگیختند که به سبب آن بیماری وبا دامنگیر آنها شد. |
30 But Phinehas stoode vp, and executed iudgement, and the plague was staied.
| آنگاه «فینحاس» برخاسته، افراد مقصر را مجازات نمود و وبا قطع گردید. |
31 And it was imputed vnto him for righteousnes from generation to generation for euer.
| این کار نیک فینحاس در نزد خدا هرگز فراموش نخواهد شد و تمام نسلها او را به نیکی یاد خواهند کرد. |
32 They angred him also at the waters of Meribah, so that Moses was punished for their sakes,
| بنی‌اسرائیل در کنار چشمهٔ «مریبه»، خداوند را خشمگین ساختند، چنانکه حتی موسی به خاطر آنها از ورود به سرزمین کنعان محروم شد. |
33 Because they vexed his spirite, so that hee spake vnaduisedly with his lippes.
| زیرا چنان موسی را به ستوه آوردند که او غضبناک شده، سخن ناشایست به زبان راند. |
34 Neither destroied they the people, as the Lord had commanded them,
| آنها، قومهایی را که خداوند گفته بود از بین ببرند، نکشتند، |
35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their workes,
| بلکه با آنها وصلت نمودند و از کارهای بد ایشان پیروی کردند. |
36 And serued their idoles, which were their ruine.
| بتهای آنها را پرستش نمودند و با این کار، خود را محکوم به مرگ کردند. |
37 Yea, they offered their sonnes, and their daughters vnto deuils,
| اسرائیلی‌ها، پسران و دختران خود را برای بتها قربانی کردند. |
38 And shed innocent blood, euen the blood of their sonnes, and of their daughters, whome they offred vnto the idoles of Canaan, and the lande was defiled with blood.
| خون فرزندان بی‌گناه خود را برای بتهای کنعان ریختند و زمین موعود را با خون آنها ناپاک ساختند. |
39 Thus were they steined with their owne woorkes, and went a whoring with their owne inuentions.
| با این کارها، خود را آلوده کردند و به خدا خیانت ورزیدند. |
40 Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, and he abhorred his owne inheritance.
| بنابراین، خشم خداوند بر بنی‌اسرائیل افروخته شد و او از آنها بیزار گردید. |
41 And hee gaue them into the hande of the heathen: and they that hated them, were lordes ouer them.
| آنها را به دست قومهایی که از ایشان نفرت داشتند، سپرد تا بر آنها حکمرانی کنند. |
42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were humbled vnder their hand.
| دشمنانشان بر آنها ظلم کردند و ایشان را خوار و ذلیل ساختند. |
43 Many a time did hee deliuer them, but they prouoked him by their counsels: therefore they were brought downe by their iniquitie.
| خداوند بارها بنی‌اسرائیل را از دست دشمنانشان نجات بخشید، ولی آنها هر بار بر ضد او شوریدند و در گناهان خود بیشتر غرق شدند. |
44 Yet hee sawe when they were in affliction, and he heard their crie.
| با وجود این، هنگامی که فریاد برآوردند، خداوند به داد ایشان رسید و به درماندگی آنها توجه نمود. |
45 And he remembred his couenant towarde them and repented according to the multitude of his mercies,
| او وعده‌ای را که به ایشان داده بود، به یاد آورد و به سبب محبت فراوانش، آنها را مجازات نکرد. |
46 And gaue them fauour in the sight of all them that lead them captiues.
| او دل اسیرکنندگان آنها را به رقت آورد تا به آنها رحم کنند. |
47 Saue vs, O Lord our God, and gather vs from among the heathen, that we may praise thine holy Name, and glorie in thy praise.
| ای یهوه، خدای ما، ما را نجات ده. ما را از میان قومها جمع کن، تا نام مقدّس تو را سپاس گوییم و در ستایش تو فخر کنیم. |
48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for euer and euer, and let all the people say, So be it. Praise yee the Lord.
| متبارک باد یهوه، خدای اسرائیل، از ازل تا ابد. و همه مردم بگویند «آمین!» سپاس بر خداوند! |
