Proverbs 8
1 Doth not wisedome crie? and vnderstanding vtter her voyce?
প্রজ্ঞা কি ডাক দেয় না? বিচক্ষণতা কি তার সুর চড়ায় না?
2 She standeth in the top of the high places by the way in the place of the paths.
পথ বরাবর সবচেয়ে উঁচু জায়গায়, পথগুলি যেখানে মিলিত হয়, সেখানে গিয়ে সে দাঁড়ায়;
3 She cryeth besides the gates before the citie at the entrie of the doores,
যে দরজা দিয়ে নগরে ঢোকা হয়, তার পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে, প্রবেশদ্বারে দাঁড়িয়ে, সে জোরে চিৎকার করে:
4 O men, I call vnto you, and vtter my voyce to the children of men.
“ওহে জনতা, আমি তোমাদেরই ডাকছি; সমগ্র মানবজাতির উদ্দেশে আমি সুর চড়াচ্ছি।
5 O ye foolish men, vnderstand wisedome, and ye, O fooles, be wise in heart.
তোমরা যারা অনভিজ্ঞ, তোমরা দূরদর্শিতা অর্জন করো; তোমরা যারা মূর্খ, তোমরা এতে মন দাও।
6 Giue eare, for I will speake of excellent things, and the opening of my lippes, shall teache things that be right.
শোনো, কারণ আমার কিছু নির্ভরযোগ্য কথা বলার আছে; যা সঠিক তা বলার জন্য আমি আমার ঠোঁট খুলেছি।
7 For my mouth shall speake the trueth, and my lippes abhorre wickednesse.
যা সত্যি আমার মুখ তাই বলে, কারণ আমার ঠোঁট দুষ্টতা ঘৃণা করে।
8 All the wordes of my mouth are righteous: there is no lewdenes, nor frowardnesse in them.
আমার মুখের সব কথা ন্যায্য; সেগুলির মধ্যে একটিও কুটিল বা বিকৃত নয়।
9 They are all plaine to him that will vnderstande, and streight to them that woulde finde knowledge.
বিচক্ষণের কাছে সেসব কথা সঠিক; যারা জ্ঞান লাভ করেছে তাদের কাছে সেগুলি ন্যায্য।
10 Receiue mine instruction, and not siluer, and knowledge rather then fine golde.
রুপোর পরিবর্তে আমার নির্দেশ, উৎকৃষ্ট সোনার পরিবর্তে বরং জ্ঞান মনোনীত করো,
11 For wisdome is better then precious stones: and all pleasures are not to be compared vnto her.
কারণ প্রজ্ঞা পদ্মরাগমণির চেয়েও বেশি মূল্যবান, ও তোমার আকাঙ্ক্ষিত কোনো কিছুর সাথেই তার তুলনা হয় না।
12 I wisdome dwell with prudence, and I find foorth knowledge and counsels.
“আমি, প্রজ্ঞা, দূরদর্শিতার সঙ্গেই বসবাস করি; আমিই জ্ঞান ও বিচক্ষণতার অধিকারী।
13 The feare of the Lord is to hate euill as pride, and arrogancie, and the euill way: and a mouth that speaketh lewde things, I doe hate.
সদাপ্রভুকে ভয় করার অর্থ মন্দকে ঘৃণা করা; আমি অহংকার ও দাম্ভিকতাকে ঘৃণা করি, মন্দ আচরণ ও সত্যভ্রষ্ট কথাবার্তাকেও করি।
14 I haue counsell and wisedome: I am vnderstanding, and I haue strength.
পরামর্শ ও সুবিচার আমার অধিকারভুক্ত; আমার কাছে দূরদর্শিতা ও ক্ষমতা আছে।
15 By me, Kings reigne, and princes decree iustice.
আমার দ্বারাই রাজারা রাজত্ব করেন ও শাসনকর্তারা ন্যায়সংগত হুকুম জারি করেন;
16 By me princes rule and the nobles, and all the iudges of the earth.
আমার দ্বারাই অধিপতিরা প্রভুত্ব করেন, ও সেই গণ্যমান্য ব্যক্তিরা—যারা সবাই পৃথিবীতে শাসন করেন।
17 I loue them that loue me: and they that seeke me earely, shall finde me.
যারা আমাকে ভালোবাসে আমিও তাদের ভালোবাসি, ও যারা আমার খোঁজ করে তারা আমাকে খুঁজে পায়।
18 Riches and honour are with me: euen durable riches and righteousnesse.
আমার কাছেই আছে ধনসম্পত্তি ও সম্মান, চিরস্থায়ী সম্পদ ও সমৃদ্ধি।
19 My fruite is better then golde, euen then fine golde, and my reuenues better then fine siluer.
আমার ফল খাঁটি সোনার চেয়েও সেরা; আমি যা উৎপাদন করি তা অসাধারণ রুপোকেও ছাপিয়ে যায়।
20 I cause to walke in the way of righteousnes, and in the middes of the paths of iudgement,
আমি ধার্মিকতার পথে চলি, ন্যায়ের পথ ধরে চলি,
21 That I may cause them that loue me, to inherite substance, and I will fill their treasures.
যারা আমাকে ভালোবাসে তাদের আমি প্রচুর উত্তরাধিকার দান করি ও তাদের ভাণ্ডার পরিপূর্ণ করে দিই।
22 The Lord hath possessed me in the beginning of his way: I was before his workes of olde.
“সদাপ্রভু তাঁর কর্মের প্রথম ফলরূপে, প্রাচীনকালে তাঁর করা সব কাজকর্মের আগেই আমাকে উৎপন্ন করেছিলেন;
23 I was set vp from euerlasting, from the beginning and before the earth.
বহুকাল আগেই আমাকে তৈরি করা হয়েছিল, একেবারে শুরুতেই, যখন এই জগৎ পত্তন হয়েছিল তখনই হয়েছিল।
24 When there were no depths, was I begotten, when there were no fountaines abounding with water.
যখন অতল জলের কোনো অস্তিত্বও ছিল না, তখন আমাকে জন্ম দেওয়া হয়েছিল, যখন জলে উপচে পড়া কোনো জলের উৎসের অস্তিত্ব ছিল না;
25 Before the mountaines were setled: and before the hilles, was I begotten.
পর্বতগুলি স্বস্থানে স্থাপিত হওয়ার আগে, পাহাড়গুলি উৎপন্ন হওয়ার আগেই,
26 He had not yet made the earth, nor the open places, nor the height of the dust in the worlde.
সদাপ্রভু এই জগৎ বা এখানকার মাঠঘাট বা পৃথিবীর একমুঠো ধুলোবালি তৈরি করার আগেই আমাকে জন্ম দেওয়া হয়েছিল।
27 When hee prepared the heauens, I was there, when he set the compasse vpon the deepe.
যখন তিনি আকাশমণ্ডলকে স্বস্থানে স্থাপন করলেন, তখন আমি সেখানে ছিলাম, যখন তিনি অতল জলরাশির বুকে দিগন্তের চিহ্ন এঁকে দিলেন,
28 When he established the cloudes aboue, when he confirmed the fountaines of the deepe,
যখন তিনি ঊর্ধ্বস্থ মেঘরাশি স্থাপন করলেন ও অতল জলরাশির উৎসগুলি শক্ত করে বেঁধে দিলেন,
29 When he gaue his decree to the Sea, that the waters shoulde not passe his commandement: when he appointed the foundations of the earth,
যখন তিনি সমুদ্রের সীমা স্থির করলেন যেন জলরাশি তাঁর আদেশ লঙ্ঘন না করে, ও যখন তিনি পৃথিবীর ভিত্তিমূল চিহ্নিত করলেন।
30 Then was I with him as a nourisher, and I was dayly his delight reioycing alway before him,
তখন আমি প্রতিনিয়ত তাঁর পাশেই ছিলাম। দিনের পর দিন আমি আনন্দে পরিপূর্ণ হয়ে থাকতাম, সর্বক্ষণ তাঁর উপস্থিতিতে আনন্দ উপভোগ করতাম,
31 And tooke my solace in the compasse of his earth: and my delite is with the children of men.
তাঁর সমগ্র এই জগৎ নিয়ে আনন্দ করতাম ও মানবজাতিকে নিয়েও আনন্দে মেতে উঠতাম।
32 Therefore nowe hearken, O children, vnto me: for blessed are they that keepe my wayes.
“তবে এখন, হে আমার বাছারা, আমার কথা শোনো; যারা আমার পথে চলে তারা ধন্য।
33 Heare instruction, and be ye wise, and refuse it not:
আমার নির্দেশ শোনো ও জ্ঞানবান হও; তা উপেক্ষা কোরো না।
34 blessed is the man that heareth mee, watching dayly at my gates, and giuing attendance at the postes of my doores.
যারা আমার কথা শোনে, যারা প্রতিদিন আমার দরজায় দাঁড়িয়ে পর্যবেক্ষণ করে, আমার দরজায় দাঁড়িয়ে অপেক্ষা করে তারা ধন্য।
35 For he that findeth me, findeth life, and shall obteine fauour of the Lord.
কারণ যারা আমাকে খুঁজে পায় তারা জীবন খুঁজে পায় ও সদাপ্রভুর কাছ থেকে অনুগ্রহ লাভ করে।
36 But he that sinneth against me, hurteth his owne soule: and all that hate me, loue death.
কিন্তু যারা আমাকে খুঁজে পায় না তারা নিজেদেরই ক্ষতিসাধন করে; যেসব লোক আমাকে ঘৃণা করে তারা মৃত্যু ভালোবাসে।”
