< Proverbs 7 >

1 My sonne, keepe my wordes, and hide my commandements with thee.
Ọmọ mi, pa ọ̀rọ̀ mi mọ́, sì fi àwọn òfin mi pamọ́ sínú ọkàn rẹ.
2 Keepe my commandements, and thou shalt liue, and mine instruction as the apple of thine eyes.
Pa òfin mi mọ́, ìwọ yóò sì yè tọ́jú ẹ̀kọ́ mi bí ẹyinlójú rẹ.
3 Binde them vpon thy fingers, and write them vpon the table of thine heart.
Kọ wọ́n sí ọwọ́ òsì rẹ, má ṣe fi jẹun kọ wọ́n sí inú wàláà àyà rẹ.
4 Say vnto wisedome, Thou art my sister: and call vnderstanding thy kinswoman,
Wí fún ọgbọ́n pé, “Ìwọ ni arábìnrin mi,” sì pe òye ní ìbátan rẹ.
5 That they may keepe thee from the strange woman, euen from the stranger that is smoothe in her wordes.
Wọn yóò pa ó mọ́ kúrò lọ́wọ́ obìnrin alágbèrè, kúrò lọ́wọ́ àjèjì obìnrin àti ọ̀rọ̀ ìtànjẹ rẹ̀.
6 As I was in the window of mine house, I looked through my windowe,
Ní ojú fèrèsé ilé è mi mo wo ìta láti ojú fèrèsé.
7 And I sawe among the fooles, and considered among the children a yong man destitute of vnderstanding,
Mo rí i láàrín àwọn aláìmọ̀kan mo sì kíyèsi láàrín àwọn ọ̀dọ́kùnrin, ọ̀dọ́ kan tí ó ṣe aláìgbọ́n.
8 Who passed through the streete by her corner, and went toward her house,
Ó ń lọ ní pópónà ní tòsí i ilé alágbèrè obìnrin náà, ó ń rìn lọ sí ọ̀nà ilé e rẹ̀.
9 In the twilight in the euening, when the night began to be blacke and darke.
Ní ìrọ̀lẹ́ bí oòrùn ṣe ń wọ̀, bí òkùnkùn ṣe ń bo ni lára.
10 And beholde, there met him a woman with an harlots behauiour, and subtill in heart.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni obìnrin kan jáde wá láti pàdé rẹ̀, ó múra bí panṣágà pẹ̀lú ètè búburú.
11 (She is babling and loud: whose feete can not abide in her house.
(Ó jẹ́ aláriwo àti alágídí, ìdí rẹ̀ kì í jókòó nílé;
12 Nowe she is without, nowe in the streetes, and lyeth in waite at euery corner)
bí ó ti ń já níhìn-ín ní ó ń já lọ́hùn ún gbogbo orígun ni ó ti ń ba ní ibùba.)
13 So she caught him and kissed him and with an impudent face said vnto him,
Ó dìímú, ó sì fẹnukò ó ní ẹnu pẹ̀lú ojú díndín ó wí pé,
14 I haue peace offerings: this day haue I payed my vowes.
“Mo ní ọrẹ àlàáfíà ní ilé; lónìí ni mo san ẹ̀jẹ́ mi.
15 Therefore came I forth to meete thee, that I might seeke thy face: and I haue found thee.
Nítorí náà ni n o ṣe jáde wá pàdé è rẹ; mo wá ọ káàkiri mo sì ti rí ọ!
16 I haue deckt my bed with ornaments, carpets and laces of Egypt.
Mo ti tẹ́ ibùsùn mi pẹ̀lú aṣọ aláràbarà láti ilẹ̀ Ejibiti.
17 I haue perfumed my bedde with myrrhe, aloes, and cynamom.
Mo ti fi nǹkan olóòórùn dídùn sí ibùsùn mi bí i òjìá, aloe àti kinamoni.
18 Come, let vs take our fill of loue vntill the morning: let vs take our pleasure in daliance.
Wá, jẹ́ kí a lo ìfẹ́ papọ̀ ní kíkún títí di àárọ̀; jẹ́ kí a gbádùn ara wa pẹ̀lú ìfẹ́!
19 For mine husband is not at home: he is gone a iourney farre off.
Ọkọ ọ̀ mi ò sí nílé; ó ti lọ sí ìrìnàjò jíjìn.
20 He hath taken with him a bagge of siluer, and will come home at the day appointed.
Ó mú owó púpọ̀ lọ́wọ́ kò sì ní darí dé kí ó tó di ọ̀sán.”
21 Thus with her great craft she caused him to yeelde, and with her flattering lips she entised him.
Pẹ̀lú ọ̀rọ̀ dídùn ó sì í lọ́nà; ó tàn án jẹ pẹ̀lú ẹnu dídùn.
22 And he followed her straight wayes, as an oxe that goeth to the slaughter, and as a foole to the stockes for correction,
Òun sì tọ̀ ọ́ lọ lẹsẹ̀ kan náà, bí i màlúù tí ń lọ sí ibi pípa, tàbí bí àgbọ̀nrín tí ń lọ sí ibi okùn ìso.
23 Till a dart strike through his liuer, as a bird hasteth to the snare, not knowing that he is in danger.
Títí tí ọ̀kọ̀ fi gún un ní ẹ̀dọ̀, bí ẹyẹ ṣe ń fẹ́ wọ inú okùn, láìmọ̀ pé yóò gba ẹ̀mí òun.
24 Heare me now therefore, O children, and hearken to the wordes of my mouth.
Nítorí náà báyìí ẹ̀yin ọmọ mi, tẹ́tí sí mi fọkàn sí nǹkan tí mo sọ.
25 Let not thine heart decline to her wayes: wander thou not in her paths.
Má ṣe jẹ́ kí ọkàn rẹ kí ó yà sí ọ̀nà rẹ̀, tàbí kí ó rìn lọ sí ipa ọ̀nà rẹ̀.
26 For shee hath caused many to fall downe wounded, and the strong men are all slaine by her.
Ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ni àwọn tí ó ti fà lulẹ̀. Ogunlọ́gọ̀ àwọn alágbára ni ó ti pa.
27 Her house is the way vnto ye graue, which goeth downe to the chambers of death. (Sheol h7585)
Ilé e rẹ̀ ni ọ̀nà tààrà sí isà òkú, tí ó lọ tààrà sí àgbàlá ikú. (Sheol h7585)
