Proverbs 7
1 My sonne, keepe my wordes, and hide my commandements with thee.
१माझ्या मुला, माझे शब्द जपून ठेव, आणि माझ्या आज्ञा आपल्याजवळ साठवून ठेव.
2 Keepe my commandements, and thou shalt liue, and mine instruction as the apple of thine eyes.
२माझ्या आज्ञा पाळ आणि जिवंत रहा, आणि माझे शिक्षण डोळ्यातील बाहुलीप्रमाणे जप.
3 Binde them vpon thy fingers, and write them vpon the table of thine heart.
३ती आपल्या बोटांस बांध; ती आपल्या हृदयाच्या पाटीवर लिहून ठेव.
4 Say vnto wisedome, Thou art my sister: and call vnderstanding thy kinswoman,
४“तू माझी बहीण आहेस” असे ज्ञानाला म्हण, आणि सुज्ञतेला आपले नातेवाईक म्हण,
5 That they may keepe thee from the strange woman, euen from the stranger that is smoothe in her wordes.
५अशासाठी की, भुरळ घालणाऱ्या स्त्रीपासून, ते तुला व्यभिचारी स्त्रीच्या गोड शब्दांपासून वाचवतील.
6 As I was in the window of mine house, I looked through my windowe,
६माझ्या घराच्या खिडकीजवळील जाळ्यातून मी बाहेर पाहिले;
7 And I sawe among the fooles, and considered among the children a yong man destitute of vnderstanding,
७आणि मी पुष्कळ भोळे तरुण पाहिले. मला तरुणांमध्ये एक तरुण दिसला, जो बुद्धिहीन मनुष्य होता.
8 Who passed through the streete by her corner, and went toward her house,
८तो तरुण मनुष्य तिच्या कोपऱ्याजवळून जाणाऱ्या वाटेने जात होता, आणि तो तिच्या घराकडे,
9 In the twilight in the euening, when the night began to be blacke and darke.
९त्या दिवशी संध्याकाळी संधीप्रकाशात, रात्रीच्यावेळी आणि अंधकारात गेला.
10 And beholde, there met him a woman with an harlots behauiour, and subtill in heart.
१०आणि तेथे ती स्त्री त्यास भेटली, वेश्येसारखा पोशाख केलेली आणि ती तेथे कशासाठी आहे हे तिला माहित होते.
11 (She is babling and loud: whose feete can not abide in her house.
११ती वाचाळ व स्वच्छंदी असून, तिचे पाय घरी राहत नाही;
12 Nowe she is without, nowe in the streetes, and lyeth in waite at euery corner)
१२कधी रस्त्यात, कधी बाजारात, प्रत्येक नाक्याजवळ ती थांबून राहते.
13 So she caught him and kissed him and with an impudent face said vnto him,
१३मग तिने त्यास धरले आणि त्याची चुंबने घेतली; निर्लज्जपणे ती त्यास म्हणाली,
14 I haue peace offerings: this day haue I payed my vowes.
१४“आज मी माझी शांत्यर्पणे केली; मी आपले नवस फेडले,
15 Therefore came I forth to meete thee, that I might seeke thy face: and I haue found thee.
१५ह्यासाठी मी तुला भेटायला, तुझे मुख पाहायला उत्सुकतेने बाहेर आले आणि तू मला सापडला आहेस.
16 I haue deckt my bed with ornaments, carpets and laces of Egypt.
१६मी आपल्या अंथरुणावर, मिसरातली रंगीत सुती चादर पसरली आहे.
17 I haue perfumed my bedde with myrrhe, aloes, and cynamom.
१७मी आपले अंथरुण बोळ, अगरू, दालचिनी यांनी सुवासिक केली आहे.
18 Come, let vs take our fill of loue vntill the morning: let vs take our pleasure in daliance.
१८ये, आपण सकाळपर्यंत प्रीतीने भरून तृप्त होऊ; आपण वेगवेगळ्या कृतींनी प्रेम करून महान आनंद घेऊ.
19 For mine husband is not at home: he is gone a iourney farre off.
१९माझा पती घरी नाही; तो लांबच्या प्रवासास गेला आहे.
20 He hath taken with him a bagge of siluer, and will come home at the day appointed.
२०त्याने प्रवासासाठी पैश्याची पिशवीबरोबर घेतली आहे; तो पौर्णिमेच्या दिवशी परत घरी येईल.”
21 Thus with her great craft she caused him to yeelde, and with her flattering lips she entised him.
२१तिने आपल्या मोहक बोलण्याने त्याचे मन वळवले; आणि आपल्या गोड बोलण्याने तिने त्यास सक्ती केली.
22 And he followed her straight wayes, as an oxe that goeth to the slaughter, and as a foole to the stockes for correction,
२२तो तिच्यामागे चालला, जसा बैल कापला जाण्यास जातो, किंवा जसा हरीण सापळ्यात पकडला जातो,
23 Till a dart strike through his liuer, as a bird hasteth to the snare, not knowing that he is in danger.
२३जसा पक्षी, पाशाकडे धाव घेतो, तसा हे आपल्या जीवाची किंमत घेण्यासाठी आहे हे तो जाणत नाही, किंवा तिर त्याचे काळीज भेदून जाईपर्यंत तसा तो तिच्यामागे जातो.
24 Heare me now therefore, O children, and hearken to the wordes of my mouth.
२४आणि आता, माझ्या मुलांनो, माझे ऐका; मी काय सांगतो त्याकडे लक्ष द्या.
25 Let not thine heart decline to her wayes: wander thou not in her paths.
२५तुझ्या मनाला तिच्या मार्गाकडे वळू देऊ नकोस; तिच्या वाटांनी जाऊन बहकू नकोस.
26 For shee hath caused many to fall downe wounded, and the strong men are all slaine by her.
२६कारण तिने पुष्कळांना घायाळ करून पाडले आहे, त्यांची संख्या मोजू शकत नाही.
