Proverbs 7
1 My sonne, keepe my wordes, and hide my commandements with thee.
૧મારા દીકરા, મારાં વચનો પાળ અને મારી આજ્ઞાઓ સંઘરી રાખ.
2 Keepe my commandements, and thou shalt liue, and mine instruction as the apple of thine eyes.
૨મારી આજ્ઞાઓ પાડીને જીવતો રહે અને મારા શિક્ષણને તારી આંખની કીકીની જેમ જતન કરજે.
3 Binde them vpon thy fingers, and write them vpon the table of thine heart.
૩તેઓને તારી આંગળીઓ પર બાંધ; તેઓને તારા હૃદયપટ પર લખી રાખ.
4 Say vnto wisedome, Thou art my sister: and call vnderstanding thy kinswoman,
૪ડહાપણને કહે કે “તું મારી બહેન છે,” અને બુદ્ધિને કહે, “તું મારી ઘનિષ્ઠ મિત્ર છે.”
5 That they may keepe thee from the strange woman, euen from the stranger that is smoothe in her wordes.
૫જેથી એ બન્ને તને વ્યભિચારી સ્ત્રીથી બચાવશે. તે ખુશામતના શબ્દો ઉચ્ચારનારી પરસ્ત્રીથી તારું રક્ષણ કરશે.
6 As I was in the window of mine house, I looked through my windowe,
૬કારણ કે એક વખત મેં મારા ઘરની બારી નજીક ઊભા રહીને જાળીમાંથી સામે નજર કરી;
7 And I sawe among the fooles, and considered among the children a yong man destitute of vnderstanding,
૭અને ત્યાં મેં ઘણાં ભોળા યુવાનોને જોયા. તેમાં એક અક્કલહીન યુવાન મારી નજરે પડ્યો.
8 Who passed through the streete by her corner, and went toward her house,
૮એક સ્ત્રીના ઘરના ખૂણા પાસેથી તે બજારમાંથી પસાર થતો હતો, તે સીધો તેના ઘર તરફ જતો હતો.
9 In the twilight in the euening, when the night began to be blacke and darke.
૯દિવસ આથમ્યો હતો, સાંજ પડવા આવી હતી અને રાતના અંધકારનાં સમયે.
10 And beholde, there met him a woman with an harlots behauiour, and subtill in heart.
૧૦અચાનક એક સ્ત્રી તેને મળવા બહાર આવી, તેણે ગણિકાના જેવાં વસ્ત્રો પહેર્યા હતાં અને તે જાણતી હતી કે તે શા માટે ત્યાં છે.
11 (She is babling and loud: whose feete can not abide in her house.
૧૧તે કપટી અને મીઠું બોલનારી અને સ્વછંદી હતી, તેના પગ પોતાના ઘરમાં કદી ટકતા ન હતા;
12 Nowe she is without, nowe in the streetes, and lyeth in waite at euery corner)
૧૨કોઈવાર ગલીઓમાં હોય, તો ક્યારેક બજારની એકાંત જગામાં, તો કોઈવાર ચોકમાં શેરીના-ખૂણે લાગ તાકીને ઊભી રહેતી હતી.
13 So she caught him and kissed him and with an impudent face said vnto him,
૧૩તે સ્ત્રીએ તેને પકડીને ચુંબન કર્યુ; અને નિર્લજ્જ મોઢે તેને કહ્યું કે,
14 I haue peace offerings: this day haue I payed my vowes.
૧૪શાંત્યર્પણો મારી પાસે તૈયાર કરેલાં છે, આજે મેં પ્રતિજ્ઞા લીધી છે; આજે મેં મારી પ્રતિજ્ઞા પૂર્ણ કરી છે.
15 Therefore came I forth to meete thee, that I might seeke thy face: and I haue found thee.
૧૫તેથી હું તને મળવા બહાર આવી છું. હું ક્યારની તને શોધતી હતી, આખરે તું મળ્યો છે.
16 I haue deckt my bed with ornaments, carpets and laces of Egypt.
૧૬મેં મારા પલંગ ઉપર સુંદર ભરતકામવાળી ચાદરો પાથરી છે તથા મિસરી શણનાં સુંદર વસ્ત્રો બિછાવ્યાં છે.
17 I haue perfumed my bedde with myrrhe, aloes, and cynamom.
૧૭મેં મારું બિછાનું બોળ, અગર અને તજથી સુગંધીદાર બનાવ્યું છે.
18 Come, let vs take our fill of loue vntill the morning: let vs take our pleasure in daliance.
૧૮ચાલ, આપણે સવાર સુધી ભરપેટ પ્રેમનો અનુભવ કરીએ; આખી રાત મગ્ન થઈ પ્રેમની મજા માણીએ.
19 For mine husband is not at home: he is gone a iourney farre off.
૧૯મારો પતિ ઘરે નથી; તે લાંબી મુસાફરીએ ગયો છે.
20 He hath taken with him a bagge of siluer, and will come home at the day appointed.
૨૦તે પોતાની સાથે રૂપિયાની થેલી લઈ ગયો છે; અને તે પૂનમે પાછો ઘરે આવશે.”
21 Thus with her great craft she caused him to yeelde, and with her flattering lips she entised him.
૨૧તે ઘણા મીઠા શબ્દોથી તેને વશ કરે છે; અને તે પોતાના હોઠોની ખુશામતથી તેને ખેંચી જાય છે.
22 And he followed her straight wayes, as an oxe that goeth to the slaughter, and as a foole to the stockes for correction,
૨૨જેમ બળદ કસાઈવાડે જાય છે, અને જેમ ગુનેગારને સજા માટે સાંકળે બાંધીને લઈ જવાય છે તેમ તે જલદીથી તેની પાછળ જાય છે.
23 Till a dart strike through his liuer, as a bird hasteth to the snare, not knowing that he is in danger.
૨૩આખરે તેનું કાળજું તીરથી વીંધાય છે; જેમ કોઈ પક્ષી પોતાનો જીવ જશે એમ જાણ્યા વિના જાળમાં ધસી જાય છે, તેમ તે સપડાઈ જાય છે.
24 Heare me now therefore, O children, and hearken to the wordes of my mouth.
૨૪હવે, મારા દીકરાઓ, સાંભળો; અને મારા મુખનાં વચનો પર લક્ષ આપો.
25 Let not thine heart decline to her wayes: wander thou not in her paths.
૨૫તારું હૃદય તેના માર્ગો તરફ વળવા ન દે; તેના રસ્તાઓમાં ભટકીને જતો નહિ.
26 For shee hath caused many to fall downe wounded, and the strong men are all slaine by her.
૨૬કારણ, તેણે ઘણાંને ઘાયલ કર્યા છે, તેઓને મારી નાખ્યા છે; અને તેનાથી માર્યા ગયેલાઓની સંખ્યા પુષ્કળ છે.
