Proverbs 6
1 My sonne, if thou be surety for thy neighbour, and hast striken hands with the stranger,
Hijo mío, si te has hecho responsable de tu prójimo, o has dado tu palabra por otro,
2 Thou art snared with the wordes of thy mouth: thou art euen taken with the woordes of thine owne mouth.
Eres tomado como en una red por las palabras de tu boca, las palabras de tus labios te han vencido.
3 Doe this nowe, my sonne, and deliuer thy selfe: seeing thou art come into the hande of thy neighbour, goe, and humble thy selfe, and sollicite thy friends.
Haz esto, hijo mío, y libérate, porque has venido al poder de tu prójimo; dirígete inmediatamente a tu vecino y pídele que lo libere de tu deuda.
4 Giue no sleepe to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.
No duermas tus ojos ni descansen tus párpados;
5 Deliuer thy selfe as a doe from the hande of the hunter, and as a birde from the hande of the fouler.
Libérate, como las gacelas de la mano del arquero, y el pájaro del que le pone una red.
6 Goe to the pismire, O sluggarde: beholde her waies, and be wise.
Ve a la hormiga, holgazan; piensa en sus caminos y sé sabio:
7 For shee hauing no guide, gouernour, nor ruler,
No tener jefe, supervisor ni gobernante,
8 Prepareth her meat in the sommer, and gathereth her foode in haruest.
Ellas obtienes su carne en el verano, almacenando comida en el momento de cortar el grano.
9 Howe long wilt thou sleepe, O sluggarde? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleepe?
¿Cuánto tiempo estarás durmiendo, oh enemigo del trabajo? ¿Cuándo te levantarás de tu sueño?
10 Yet a litle sleepe, a litle slumber, a litle folding of the hands to sleepe.
Un poco de sueño, un poco de descanso, un poco de plegar de las manos en el sueño:
11 Therefore thy pouertie commeth as one that trauaileth by the way, and thy necessitie like an armed man.
Entonces la pérdida vendrá sobre ti como un forajido, y tu necesidad como un hombre armado.
12 The vnthriftie man and the wicked man walketh with a froward mouth.
Un hombre que no sirve para nada es un malhechor; él sigue su camino causando problemas con palabras falsas;
13 He maketh a signe with his eyes: he signifieth with his feete: he instructeth with his fingers.
Haciendo señales con sus ojos, frotándose con los pies, y dando noticias con sus dedos;
14 Lewde things are in his heart: he imagineth euill at all times, and raiseth vp contentions.
Su mente siempre está diseñando el mal: provoca actos violentos.
15 Therefore shall his destruction come speedily: hee shall be destroyed suddenly without recouerie.
Por esta causa, su caída será repentina; rápidamente él será quebrado, y no habrá ayuda para él.
16 These sixe things doeth the Lord hate: yea, his soule abhorreth seuen:
Seis cosas son odiadas por el Señor; siete cosas le repugnan:
17 The hautie eyes, a lying tongue, and the hands that shed innocent blood,
Ojos de soberbia, lengua falsa, manos que quitan la vida sin causa;
18 An heart that imagineth wicked enterprises, feete that be swift in running to mischiefe,
Un corazón lleno de malos designios, pies que corren rápidamente después del pecado;
19 A false witnesse that speaketh lyes, and him that rayseth vp contentions among brethren.
Un testigo falso, exhalando palabras falsas, y uno que desata actos violentos entre hermanos.
20 My sonne, keepe thy fathers commandement, and forsake not thy mothers instruction.
Hijo mío, guarda el gobierno de tu padre, y ten en memoria las enseñanzas de tu madre:
21 Binde them alway vpon thine heart, and tye them about thy necke.
Haz que estén siempre guardadas en tu corazón, y tenlas colgando alrededor de tu cuello.
22 It shall leade thee, when thou walkest: it shall watch for thee, when thou sleepest, and when thou wakest, it shall talke with thee.
En tu caminar, serán tu guía; cuando duermas, te cuidarán; cuando estés despierto, hablarán contigo.
23 For the commandement is a lanterne, and instruction a light: and corrections for instruction are the way of life,
Porque su regla es una luz, y su enseñanza una luz resplandeciente; y las palabras de entrenamiento son la forma de vida.
24 To keepe thee from the wicked woman, and from ye flatterie of ye tongue of a strange woman.
Te mantendrán lejos de la mujer malvada, de la lengua seductora de la mujer adúltera.
25 Desire not her beautie in thine heart, neither let her take thee with her eye lids.
No dejes que el deseo de tu corazón vaya tras su hermoso cuerpo; no dejes que sus ojos te tomen prisionero.
26 For because of the whorish woman a man is brought to a morsell of bread, and a woman wil hunt for the precious life of a man.
Porque una mujer prostituta está buscando dinero, pero la adúltera busca destruir el alma del hombre.
27 Can a man take fire in his bosome, and his clothes not be burnt?
¿Puede un hombre prender fuego a su pecho sin quemar su ropa?
28 Or can a man go vpon coales, and his feete not be burnt?
¿O puede uno caminar por carbones encendidos, y sus pies no se quemarán?
29 So he that goeth in to his neighbours wife, shall not be innocent, whosoeuer toucheth her.
Así es con el que entra a la mujer de su prójimo; el que tiene algo que ver con ella no quedará libre del castigo.
30 Men do not despise a thiefe, when he stealeth, to satisfie his soule, because he is hungrie.
Los hombres no tienen una opinión baja de un ladrón que toma comida cuando la necesita:
31 But if he be founde, he shall restore seuen folde, or he shall giue all the substance of his house.
Pero si lo toman en el acto, tendrá que devolver siete veces más, renunciando a todas sus propiedades que están en su poder en su casa.
32 But he that committeth adulterie with a woman, he is destitute of vnderstanding: he that doeth it, destroyeth his owne soule.
El que toma la mujer de otro, no tiene ningún sentido; el que lo hace es la causa de la destrucción de su alma.
33 He shall finde a wounde and dishonour, and his reproch shall neuer be put away.
Las heridas serán suyas y la pérdida de honor, y su vergüenza no se borrará.
34 For ielousie is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
Porque amarga es la ira de un marido enojado; en el día del castigo no tendrá misericordia.
35 He cannot beare the sight of any raunsome: neither will he consent, though thou augment the giftes.
Él no tomará ningún pago; y él no hará las paces contigo a pesar de que tus ofrendas de dinero se incrementan.
