Proverbs 30
1 THE WORDS OF AGUR THE SONNE OF JAKEH. The prophecie which ye man spake vnto Ithiel, euen to Ithiel, and Vcal.
याकेह के पुत्र आगूर का वक्तव्य—एक प्रकाशन ईथिएल के लिए. इस मनुष्य की घोषणा—ईथिएल और उकाल के लिए:
2 Surely I am more foolish then any man, and haue not the vnderstanding of a man in me.
निःसंदेह, मैं इन्सान नहीं, जानवर जैसा हूं; मनुष्य के समान समझने की क्षमता भी खो चुका हूं.
3 For I haue not learned wisedome, nor atteined to the knowledge of holy things.
न तो मैं ज्ञान प्राप्त कर सका हूं, और न ही मुझमें महा पवित्र परमेश्वर को समझने की कोई क्षमता शेष रह गई है.
4 Who hath ascended vp to heauen, and descended? Who hath gathered the winde in his fist? Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the endes of the world? What is his name, and what is his sonnes name, if thou canst tell?
कौन है, जो स्वर्ग में चढ़कर फिर उतर आया है? किसने वायु को अपनी मुट्ठी में एकत्र कर रखा है? किसने महासागर को वस्त्र में बांधकर रखा है? किसने पृथ्वी की सीमाएं स्थापित कर दी हैं? क्या है उनका नाम और क्या है उनके पुत्र का नाम? यदि आप जानते हैं! तो मुझे बता दीजिए.
5 Euery worde of God is pure: he is a shield to those, that trust in him.
“परमेश्वर का हर एक वचन प्रामाणिक एवं सत्य है; वही उनके लिए ढाल समान हैं जो उनमें आश्रय लेते हैं.
6 Put nothing vnto his wordes, least he reproue thee, and thou be found a lyar.
उनके वक्तव्य में कुछ भी न जोड़ा जाए ऐसा न हो कि तुम्हें उनकी फटकार सुननी पड़े और तुम झूठ प्रमाणित हो जाओ.
7 Two things haue I required of thee: denie me them not before I die.
“अपनी मृत्यु के पूर्व मैं आपसे दो आग्रह कर रहा हूं; मुझे इनसे वंचित न कीजिए.
8 Remooue farre from me vanitie and lyes: giue me not pouertie, nor riches: feede me with foode conuenient for me,
मुझसे वह सब अत्यंत दूर कर दीजिए, जो झूठ है, असत्य है; न तो मुझे निर्धनता में डालिए और न मुझे धन दीजिए, मात्र मुझे उतना ही भोजन प्रदान कीजिए, जितना आवश्यक है.
9 Least I be full, and denie thee, and say, Who is the Lord? or least I be poore and steale, and take the Name of my God in vaine.
ऐसा न हो कि सम्पन्नता में मैं आपका त्याग ही कर दूं और कहने लगूं, ‘कौन है यह याहवेह?’ अथवा ऐसा न हो कि निर्धनता की स्थिति में मैं चोरी करने के लिए बाध्य हो जाऊं, और मेरे परमेश्वर के नाम को कलंकित कर बैठूं.
10 Accuse not a seruant vnto his master, lest he curse thee, when thou hast offended.
“किसी सेवक के विरुद्ध उसके स्वामी के कान न भरना, ऐसा न हो कि वह सेवक तुम्हें शाप दे और तुम्हीं दोषी पाए जाओ.
11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doeth not blesse their mother.
“एक पीढ़ी ऐसी है, जो अपने ही पिता को शाप देती है, तथा उनके मुख से उनकी माता के लिए कोई भी धन्य उद्गार नहीं निकलते;
12 There is a generation that are pure in their owne conceite, and yet are not washed from their filthinesse.
कुछ की दृष्टि में उनका अपना चालचलन शुद्ध होता है किंतु वस्तुतः उनकी अपनी ही मलिनता से वे धुले हुए नहीं होते है;
13 There is a generation, whose eies are hautie, and their eye liddes are lifted vp.
एक और समूह ऐसा है, आंखें गर्व से चढ़ी हुई तथा उन्नत भौंहें;
14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swordes, and their chawes as kniues to eate vp the afflicted out of the earth, and the poore from among men.
कुछ वे हैं, जिनके दांत तलवार समान तथा जबड़ा चाकू समान हैं, कि पृथ्वी से उत्पीड़ितों को तथा निर्धनों को मनुष्यों के मध्य में से लेकर निगल जाएं.
15 The horse leache hath two daughters which crye, Giue, giue. There be three things that will not be satisfied: yea, foure that say not, It is ynough.
“जोंक की दो बेटियां हैं. जो चिल्लाकर कहती हैं, ‘और दो! और दो!’ “तीन वस्तुएं असंतुष्ट ही रहती है, वस्तुतः चार कभी नहीं कहती, ‘अब बस करो!’:
16 The graue, and the barren wombe, the earth that cannot be satisfied with water, and the fire that sayeth not, It is ynough. (Sheol h7585)
अधोलोक तथा बांझ की कोख; भूमि, जो जल से कभी तृप्त नहीं होती, और अग्नि, जो कभी नहीं कहती, ‘बस!’ (Sheol h7585)
17 The eye that mocketh his father and despiseth the instruction of his mother, let ye rauens of the valley picke it out, and the yong eagles eate it.
“वह नेत्र, जो अपने पिता का अनादर करते हैं, तथा जिसके लिए माता का आज्ञापालन घृणास्पद है, घाटी के कौवों द्वारा नोच-नोच कर निकाल लिया जाएगा, तथा गिद्धों का आहार हो जाएगा.
18 There be three thinges hid from me: yea, foure that I knowe not,
“तीन वस्तुएं मेरे लिए अत्यंत विस्मयकारी हैं, वस्तुतः चार, जो मेरी समझ से सर्वथा परे हैं:
19 The way of an eagle in the aire, the way of a serpent vpon a stone, ye way of a ship in ye middes of the sea, and the way of a man with a maide.
आकाश में गरुड़ की उड़ान, चट्टान पर सर्प का रेंगना, महासागर पर जलयान का आगे बढ़ना, तथा पुरुष और स्त्री का पारस्परिक संबंध.
20 Such is ye way also of an adulterous woman: she eateth and wipeth her mouth, and sayth, I haue not committed iniquitie.
“व्यभिचारिणी स्त्री की चाल यह होती है: संभोग के बाद वह कहती है, ‘क्या विसंगत किया है मैंने.’ मानो उसने भोजन करके अपना मुख पोंछ लिया हो.
21 For three things the earth is moued: yea, for foure it cannot susteine it selfe:
“तीन परिस्थितियां ऐसी हैं, जिनमें पृथ्वी तक कांप उठती है; वस्तुतः चार इसे असहाय हैं:
22 For a seruant when he reigneth, and a foole when he is filled with meate,
दास का राजा बन जाना, मूर्ख व्यक्ति का छक कर भोजन करना,
23 For the hatefull woman, when she is married, and for a handmaid that is heire to her mistres.
पूर्णतः घिनौनी स्त्री का विवाह हो जाना तथा दासी का स्वामिनी का स्थान ले लेना.
24 These be foure small things in the earth, yet they are wise and full of wisedome:
“पृथ्वी पर चार प्राणी ऐसे हैं, जो आकार में तो छोटे हैं, किंतु हैं अत्यंत बुद्धिमान:
25 The pismires a people not strong, yet prepare they their meate in sommer:
चीटियों की गणना सशक्त प्राणियों में नहीं की जाती, फिर भी उनकी भोजन की इच्छा ग्रीष्मकाल में भी समाप्त नहीं होती;
26 The conies a people not mightie, yet make their houses in the rocke:
चट्टानों के निवासी बिज्जू सशक्त प्राणी नहीं होते, किंतु वे अपना आश्रय चट्टानों में बना लेते हैं;
27 The grashopper hath no King, yet goe they forth all by bandes:
अरबेह टिड्डियों का कोई शासक नहीं होता, फिर भी वे सैन्य दल के समान पंक्तियों में आगे बढ़ती हैं;
28 The spider taketh holde with her handes, and is in Kings palaces.
छिपकली, जो हाथ से पकड़े जाने योग्य लघु प्राणी है, किंतु इसका प्रवेश राजमहलों तक में होता है.
29 There be three thinges that order well their going: yea, foure are comely in going,
“तीन हैं, जिनके चलने की शैली अत्यंत भव्य है, चार की गति अत्यंत प्रभावशाली है:
30 A lyon which is strong among beastes, and turneth not at the sight of any:
सिंह, जो सभी प्राणियों में सबसे अधिक शक्तिमान है, वह किसी के कारण पीछे नहीं हटता;
31 A lusty grayhound, and a goate, and a King against whom there is no rising vp.
गर्वीली चाल चलता हुआ मुर्ग, बकरा, तथा अपनी सेना के साथ आगे बढ़ता हुआ राजा.
32 If thou hast bene foolish in lifting thy selfe vp, and if thou hast thought wickedly, lay thine hand vpon thy mouth.
“यदि तुम आत्मप्रशंसा की मूर्खता कर बैठे हो, अथवा तुमने कोई षड़्यंत्र गढ़ा है, तो अपना हाथ अपने मुख पर रख लो!
33 When one churneth milke, he bringeth foorth butter: and he that wringeth his nose, causeth blood to come out: so he that forceth wrath, bringeth foorth strife.
जिस प्रकार दूध के मंथन से मक्खन तैयार होता है, और नाक पर घूंसे के प्रहार से रक्त निकलता है, उसी प्रकार क्रोध को भड़काने से कलह उत्पन्न होता है.”
