Proverbs 3
1 My sonne, forget not thou my Lawe, but let thine heart keepe my commandements.
Synu mój! nie zapominaj zakonu mego, a przykazań moich niech strzeże serce twoje.
2 For they shall increase the length of thy dayes and the yeeres of life, and thy prosperitie.
Boć długości dni i lat żywota, i pokoju przyczynią.
3 Let not mercie and trueth forsake thee: binde them on thy necke, and write them vpon the table of thine heart.
Miłosierdzie i prawda niech cię nie opuszczają; uwiąż je u szyi twojej, napisz je na tablicy serca twojego.
4 So shalt thou finde fauour and good vnderstanding in the sight of God and man.
Tedy znajdziesz łaskę i rozum dobry przed oczyma Bożemi i ludzkiemi.
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and leane not vnto thine owne wisdome.
Ufaj w Panu ze wszystkiego serca twego, a na rozumie twoim nie spolegaj.
6 In all thy wayes acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy wayes.
We wszystkich drogach twoich znaj go, a on prostować będzie ścieszki twoje.
7 Be not wise in thine owne eyes: but feare the Lord, and depart from euill.
Nie bądź mądrym sam u siebie; ale się bój Pana, a odstąp od złego.
8 So health shalbe vnto thy nauel, and marowe vnto thy bones.
To będzie zdrowiem żywotowi twemu, a odwilżeniem kościom twoim.
9 Honour the Lord with thy riches, and with the first fruites of all thine increase.
Czcij Pana z majętności twojej, i z pierwiastek wszystkich dochodów twoich.
10 So shall thy barnes be filled with abundance, and thy presses shall burst with newe wine.
A gumna twoje napełnione będą obfitością, i od wina nowego prasy twoje rozpadać się będą.
11 My sonne, refuse not the chastening of the Lord, neither be grieued with his correction.
Synu mój! karania Pańskiego nie odrzucaj, i nie uprzykrzaj sobie ćwiczenia jego.
12 For the Lord correcteth him, whome he loueth, euen as the father doeth the childe in whom he deliteth.
Bo kogo Pan miłuje, tego karze, a to jako ojciec, który się w synu kocha.
13 Blessed is the man that findeth wisedome, and the man that getteth vnderstanding.
Błogosławiony człowiek, który znajduje mądrość, i człowiek, który dostanie roztropności.
14 For the marchandise thereof is better then the marchandise of siluer, and the gaine thereof is better then golde.
Bo lepiej nią kupczyć, niżeli kupczyć srebrem: owszem pożyteczniejszy nad złoto dochód jej.
15 It is more precious then pearles: and all things that thou canst desire, are not to be compared vnto her.
Droższa jest nad perły, a wszystkie najmilsze rzeczy twoje nie zrównają się z nią.
16 Length of dayes is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory.
Przedłużenie dni w prawicy jej, a w lewicy jej bogactwa i zacność.
17 Her wayes are wayes of pleasure, and all her pathes prosperitie.
Drogi jej rozkoszne, i wszystkie ścieszki jej spokojne.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay holde on her, and blessed is he that retaineth her.
Drzewem żywota jest tym, którzyby się jej chwycili; a którzy się jej trzymają, są błogosławionymi.
19 The Lord by wisdome hath layde the foundation of the earth, and hath stablished the heauens through vnderstanding.
Pan mądrością ugruntował ziemię, a roztropnością umocnił niebiosa.
20 By his knowledge the depthes are broken vp, and the cloudes droppe downe the dewe.
Umiejętnością jego rozstąpiły się przepaści, a obłoki rosą kropią.
21 My sonne, let not these things depart from thine eyes, but obserue wisdome, and counsell.
Synu mój! niech to nie odstępuje od oczów twych: strzeż prawdziwej mądrości i roztropności;
22 So they shalbe life to thy soule, and grace vnto thy necke.
I będą żywotem duszy twojej, a ozdobą szyi twojej.
23 Then shalt thou walke safely by thy way: and thy foote shall not stumble.
Tedy będziesz chodził bezpiecznie droga twoją, a noga twoja nie potknie się.
24 If thou sleepest, thou shalt not bee afraide, and when thou sleepest, thy sleepe shalbe sweete.
Jeźli się układziesz, nie będziesz się lękał; a gdy się uspokoisz, wdzięczny będzie sen twój.
25 Thou shalt not feare for any sudden feare, neither for the destruction of the wicked, when it commeth.
Nie ulękniesz się strachu nagłego, ani spustoszenia bezbożników, gdy przyjdzie.
26 For the Lord shall be for thine assurance, and shall preserue thy foote from taking.
Albowiem Pan będzie ufaniem twojem, a nogi twojej będzie strzegł od samołówki.
27 Withhold not the good from the owners thereof, though there be power in thine hand to doe it.
Nie zbraniaj się dobrze czynić potrzebującemu, gdy cię na to stanie, abyś dobrze czynił.
28 Say not vnto thy neighbour, Go and come againe, and to morow wil I giue thee, if thou now haue it.
Nie mów bliźniemu twemu: Idź, a wróć się, a jutroć dam; gdyż to masz u siebie.
29 Intend none hurt against thy neighbour, seeing he doeth dwell without feare by thee.
Nie knuj złego przeciwko bliźniemu twemu, gdyż on z tobą dowiernie mieszka.
30 Striue not with a man causelesse, when he hath done thee no harme.
Nie wadź się z człowiekiem bez przyczyny, jeźliżeć nic złego nie wyrządził.
31 Bee not enuious for the wicked man, neither chuse any of his wayes.
Nie zajrzyj mężowi gwałt czyniącemu, a nie obieraj żadnej drogi jego.
32 For the frowarde is abomination vnto the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.
Albowiem przewrotny jest obrzydliwością przed Panem; ale z szczerymi tajemnica jego;
33 The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.
Przeklęstwo Pańskie jest w domu niezbożnika; ale przybytkowi sprawiedliwych błogosławi,
34 With the scornefull he scorneth, but hee giueth grace vnto the humble.
Ponieważ on szydzi z pośmiewców, ale pokornym łaskę daje.
35 The wise shall inherite glorie: but fooles dishonour, though they be exalted.
Mądrzy dziedzicznie sławę osiędą, ale głupi odniosą zelżywość.
