Proverbs 3

1 My sonne, forget not thou my Lawe, but let thine heart keepe my commandements.

۱ ای پسر من، تعلیم مرا فراموش مکن و دل تو اوامر مرا نگاه دارد،

2 For they shall increase the length of thy dayes and the yeeres of life, and thy prosperitie.

۲ زیرا که طول ایام وسالهای حیات و سلامتی را برای تو خواهدافزود.

3 Let not mercie and trueth forsake thee: binde them on thy necke, and write them vpon the table of thine heart.

۳ زنهار که رحمت و راستی تو را ترک نکند. آنها را بر گردن خود ببند و بر لوح دل خودمرقوم دار.

4 So shalt thou finde fauour and good vnderstanding in the sight of God and man.

۴ آنگاه نعمت و رضامندی نیکو، درنظر خدا و انسان خواهی یافت.

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and leane not vnto thine owne wisdome.

۵ به تمامی دل خود بر خداوند توکل نما و بر عقل خود تکیه مکن.

6 In all thy wayes acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy wayes.

۶ در همه راههای خود او را بشناس، و اوطریقهایت را راست خواهد گردانید.

7 Be not wise in thine owne eyes: but feare the Lord, and depart from euill.

۷ خویشتن را حکیم مپندار، از خداوند بترس و از بدی اجتناب نما.

8 So health shalbe vnto thy nauel, and marowe vnto thy bones.

۸ این برای ناف تو شفا، وبرای استخوانهایت مغز خواهد بود.

9 Honour the Lord with thy riches, and with the first fruites of all thine increase.

۹ از مایملک خود خداوند را تکریم نما و از نوبرهای همه محصول خویش.

10 So shall thy barnes be filled with abundance, and thy presses shall burst with newe wine.

۱۰ آنگاه انبارهای تو به وفورنعمت پر خواهد شد، و چرخشتهای تو از شیره انگور لبریز خواهد گشت.

11 My sonne, refuse not the chastening of the Lord, neither be grieued with his correction.

۱۱ ‌ای پسر من، تادیب خداوند را خوار مشمار، و توبیخ او را مکروه مدار.

12 For the Lord correcteth him, whome he loueth, euen as the father doeth the childe in whom he deliteth.

۱۲ زیرا خداوند هر‌که را دوست داردتادیب می‌نماید، مثل پدر پسر خویش را که از اومسرور می‌باشد.

13 Blessed is the man that findeth wisedome, and the man that getteth vnderstanding.

۱۳ خوشابحال کسی‌که حکمت را پیدا کند، و شخصی که فطانت را تحصیل نماید.

14 For the marchandise thereof is better then the marchandise of siluer, and the gaine thereof is better then golde.

۱۴ زیرا که تجارت آن از تجارت نقره ومحصولش از طلای خالص نیکوتر است.

15 It is more precious then pearles: and all things that thou canst desire, are not to be compared vnto her.

۱۵ ازلعلها گرانبهاتر است و جمیع نفایس تو با آن برابری نتواند کرد.

16 Length of dayes is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory.

۱۶ به‌دست راست وی طول ایام است، و به‌دست چپش دولت و جلال.

17 Her wayes are wayes of pleasure, and all her pathes prosperitie.

۱۷ طریقهای وی طریقهای شادمانی است و همه راههای وی سلامتی می‌باشد.

18 She is a tree of life to them that lay holde on her, and blessed is he that retaineth her.

۱۸ به جهت آنانی که او را به‌دست گیرند، درخت حیات‌است وکسی‌که به او متمسک می‌باشد خجسته است.

19 The Lord by wisdome hath layde the foundation of the earth, and hath stablished the heauens through vnderstanding.

۱۹ خداوند به حکمت خود زمین را بنیاد نهاد، و به عقل خویش آسمان را استوار نمود.

20 By his knowledge the depthes are broken vp, and the cloudes droppe downe the dewe.

۲۰ به علم او لجه‌ها منشق گردید، و افلاک شبنم رامی چکانید.

21 My sonne, let not these things depart from thine eyes, but obserue wisdome, and counsell.

۲۱ ‌ای پسر من، این چیزها از نظر تودور نشود. حکمت کامل و تمیز را نگاه دار.

22 So they shalbe life to thy soule, and grace vnto thy necke.

۲۲ پس برای جان تو حیات، و برای گردنت زینت خواهد بود.

23 Then shalt thou walke safely by thy way: and thy foote shall not stumble.

۲۳ آنگاه در راه خود به امنیت سالک خواهی شد، و پایت نخواهد لغزید.

24 If thou sleepest, thou shalt not bee afraide, and when thou sleepest, thy sleepe shalbe sweete.

۲۴ هنگامی که بخوابی، نخواهی ترسید و چون دراز شوی خوابت شیرین خواهد شد.

25 Thou shalt not feare for any sudden feare, neither for the destruction of the wicked, when it commeth.

۲۵ از خوف ناگهان نخواهی ترسید، و نه از خرابی شریران چون واقع شود.

26 For the Lord shall be for thine assurance, and shall preserue thy foote from taking.

۲۶ زیرا خداوند اعتماد تو خواهد بود و پای تو را از دام حفظ خواهد نمود.

27 Withhold not the good from the owners thereof, though there be power in thine hand to doe it.

۲۷ احسان را ازاهلش باز مدار، هنگامی که بجا آوردنش در قوت دست توست.

28 Say not vnto thy neighbour, Go and come againe, and to morow wil I giue thee, if thou now haue it.

۲۸ به همسایه خود مگو برو وبازگرد، و فردا به تو خواهم داد، با آنکه نزد توحاضر است.

29 Intend none hurt against thy neighbour, seeing he doeth dwell without feare by thee.

۲۹ بر همسایه ات قصد بدی مکن، هنگامی که او نزد تو در امنیت ساکن است.

30 Striue not with a man causelesse, when he hath done thee no harme.

۳۰ باکسی‌که به تو بدی نکرده است، بی‌سبب مخاصمه منما.

31 Bee not enuious for the wicked man, neither chuse any of his wayes.

۳۱ بر مرد ظالم حسد مبر وهیچکدام از راههایش را اختیار مکن.

32 For the frowarde is abomination vnto the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.

۳۲ زیراکج خلقان نزد خداوند مکروهند، لیکن سر او نزدراستان است،

33 The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.

۳۳ لعنت خداوند بر خانه شریران است. اما مسکن عادلان را برکت می‌دهد.

34 With the scornefull he scorneth, but hee giueth grace vnto the humble.

۳۴ یقین که مستهزئین را استهزا می‌نماید، اما متواضعان رافیض می‌بخشد.

35 The wise shall inherite glorie: but fooles dishonour, though they be exalted.

۳۵ حکیمان وارث جلال خواهند شد، اما احمقان خجالت را خواهند برد.
