Proverbs 3
1 My sonne, forget not thou my Lawe, but let thine heart keepe my commandements.
१हे मेरे पुत्र, मेरी शिक्षा को न भूलना; अपने हृदय में मेरी आज्ञाओं को रखे रहना;
2 For they shall increase the length of thy dayes and the yeeres of life, and thy prosperitie.
२क्योंकि ऐसा करने से तेरी आयु बढ़ेगी, और तू अधिक कुशल से रहेगा।
3 Let not mercie and trueth forsake thee: binde them on thy necke, and write them vpon the table of thine heart.
३कृपा और सच्चाई तुझ से अलग न होने पाएँ; वरन् उनको अपने गले का हार बनाना, और अपनी हृदयरूपी पटिया पर लिखना।
4 So shalt thou finde fauour and good vnderstanding in the sight of God and man.
४तब तू परमेश्वर और मनुष्य दोनों का अनुग्रह पाएगा, तू अति प्रतिष्ठित होगा।
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and leane not vnto thine owne wisdome.
५तू अपनी समझ का सहारा न लेना, वरन् सम्पूर्ण मन से यहोवा पर भरोसा रखना।
6 In all thy wayes acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy wayes.
६उसी को स्मरण करके सब काम करना, तब वह तेरे लिये सीधा मार्ग निकालेगा।
7 Be not wise in thine owne eyes: but feare the Lord, and depart from euill.
७अपनी दृष्टि में बुद्धिमान न होना; यहोवा का भय मानना, और बुराई से अलग रहना।
8 So health shalbe vnto thy nauel, and marowe vnto thy bones.
८ऐसा करने से तेरा शरीर भला चंगा, और तेरी हड्डियाँ पुष्ट रहेंगी।
9 Honour the Lord with thy riches, and with the first fruites of all thine increase.
९अपनी सम्पत्ति के द्वारा और अपनी भूमि की सारी पहली उपज देकर यहोवा की प्रतिष्ठा करना;
10 So shall thy barnes be filled with abundance, and thy presses shall burst with newe wine.
१०इस प्रकार तेरे खत्ते भरे और पूरे रहेंगे, और तेरे रसकुण्डों से नया दाखमधु उमड़ता रहेगा।
11 My sonne, refuse not the chastening of the Lord, neither be grieued with his correction.
११हे मेरे पुत्र, यहोवा की शिक्षा से मुँह न मोड़ना, और जब वह तुझे डाँटे, तब तू बुरा न मानना,
12 For the Lord correcteth him, whome he loueth, euen as the father doeth the childe in whom he deliteth.
१२जैसे पिता अपने प्रिय पुत्र को डाँटता है, वैसे ही यहोवा जिससे प्रेम रखता है उसको डाँटता है।
13 Blessed is the man that findeth wisedome, and the man that getteth vnderstanding.
१३क्या ही धन्य है वह मनुष्य जो बुद्धि पाए, और वह मनुष्य जो समझ प्राप्त करे,
14 For the marchandise thereof is better then the marchandise of siluer, and the gaine thereof is better then golde.
१४जो उपलब्धि बुद्धि से प्राप्त होती है, वह चाँदी की प्राप्ति से बड़ी, और उसका लाभ शुद्ध सोने के लाभ से भी उत्तम है।
15 It is more precious then pearles: and all things that thou canst desire, are not to be compared vnto her.
१५वह बहुमूल्य रत्नों से अधिक मूल्यवान है, और जितनी वस्तुओं की तू लालसा करता है, उनमें से कोई भी उसके तुल्य न ठहरेगी।
16 Length of dayes is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory.
१६उसके दाहिने हाथ में दीर्घायु, और उसके बाएँ हाथ में धन और महिमा हैं।
17 Her wayes are wayes of pleasure, and all her pathes prosperitie.
१७उसके मार्ग आनन्ददायक हैं, और उसके सब मार्ग कुशल के हैं।
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay holde on her, and blessed is he that retaineth her.
१८जो बुद्धि को ग्रहण कर लेते हैं, उनके लिये वह जीवन का वृक्ष बनती है; और जो उसको पकड़े रहते हैं, वह धन्य हैं।
19 The Lord by wisdome hath layde the foundation of the earth, and hath stablished the heauens through vnderstanding.
१९यहोवा ने पृथ्वी की नींव बुद्धि ही से डाली; और स्वर्ग को समझ ही के द्वारा स्थिर किया।
20 By his knowledge the depthes are broken vp, and the cloudes droppe downe the dewe.
२०उसी के ज्ञान के द्वारा गहरे सागर फूट निकले, और आकाशमण्डल से ओस टपकती है।
21 My sonne, let not these things depart from thine eyes, but obserue wisdome, and counsell.
२१हे मेरे पुत्र, ये बातें तेरी दृष्टि की ओट न होने पाए; तू खरी बुद्धि और विवेक की रक्षा कर,
22 So they shalbe life to thy soule, and grace vnto thy necke.
२२तब इनसे तुझे जीवन मिलेगा, और ये तेरे गले का हार बनेंगे।
23 Then shalt thou walke safely by thy way: and thy foote shall not stumble.
२३तब तू अपने मार्ग पर निडर चलेगा, और तेरे पाँव में ठेस न लगेगी।
24 If thou sleepest, thou shalt not bee afraide, and when thou sleepest, thy sleepe shalbe sweete.
२४जब तू लेटेगा, तब भय न खाएगा, जब तू लेटेगा, तब सुख की नींद आएगी।
25 Thou shalt not feare for any sudden feare, neither for the destruction of the wicked, when it commeth.
२५अचानक आनेवाले भय से न डरना, और जब दुष्टों पर विपत्ति आ पड़े, तब न घबराना;
26 For the Lord shall be for thine assurance, and shall preserue thy foote from taking.
२६क्योंकि यहोवा तुझे सहारा दिया करेगा, और तेरे पाँव को फंदे में फँसने न देगा।
27 Withhold not the good from the owners thereof, though there be power in thine hand to doe it.
२७जो भलाई के योग्य है उनका भला अवश्य करना, यदि ऐसा करना तेरी शक्ति में है।
28 Say not vnto thy neighbour, Go and come againe, and to morow wil I giue thee, if thou now haue it.
२८यदि तेरे पास देने को कुछ हो, तो अपने पड़ोसी से न कहना कि जा कल फिर आना, कल मैं तुझे दूँगा।
29 Intend none hurt against thy neighbour, seeing he doeth dwell without feare by thee.
२९जब तेरा पड़ोसी तेरे पास निश्चिन्त रहता है, तब उसके विरुद्ध बुरी युक्ति न बाँधना।
30 Striue not with a man causelesse, when he hath done thee no harme.
३०जिस मनुष्य ने तुझ से बुरा व्यवहार न किया हो, उससे अकारण मुकद्दमा खड़ा न करना।
31 Bee not enuious for the wicked man, neither chuse any of his wayes.
३१उपद्रवी पुरुष के विषय में डाह न करना, न उसकी सी चाल चलना;
32 For the frowarde is abomination vnto the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.
३२क्योंकि यहोवा कुटिल मनुष्य से घृणा करता है, परन्तु वह अपना भेद सीधे लोगों पर प्रगट करता है।
33 The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.
३३दुष्ट के घर पर यहोवा का श्राप और धर्मियों के वासस्थान पर उसकी आशीष होती है।
34 With the scornefull he scorneth, but hee giueth grace vnto the humble.
३४ठट्ठा करनेवालों का वह निश्चय ठट्ठा करता है; परन्तु दीनों पर अनुग्रह करता है।
35 The wise shall inherite glorie: but fooles dishonour, though they be exalted.
३५बुद्धिमान महिमा को पाएँगे, परन्तु मूर्खों की बढ़ती अपमान ही की होगी।
