Proverbs 3
1 My sonne, forget not thou my Lawe, but let thine heart keepe my commandements.
मेरे पुत्र, मेरी शिक्षा को न भूलना, मेरे आदेशों को अपने हृदय में रखे रहना,
2 For they shall increase the length of thy dayes and the yeeres of life, and thy prosperitie.
क्योंकि इनसे तेरी आयु वर्षों वर्ष बढ़ेगी और ये तुझे शांति और समृद्धि दिलाएंगे.
3 Let not mercie and trueth forsake thee: binde them on thy necke, and write them vpon the table of thine heart.
प्रेम और ईमानदारी तुमसे कभी अलग न हो; इन्हें अपने कण्ठ का हार बना लो, इन्हें अपने हृदय-पटल पर लिख लो.
4 So shalt thou finde fauour and good vnderstanding in the sight of God and man.
इसका परिणाम यह होगा कि तुम्हें परमेश्वर तथा मनुष्यों की ओर से प्रतिष्ठा तथा अति सफलता प्राप्त होगी.
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and leane not vnto thine owne wisdome.
याहवेह पर अपने संपूर्ण हृदय से भरोसा करना, स्वयं अपनी ही समझ का सहारा न लेना;
6 In all thy wayes acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy wayes.
अपने समस्त कार्य में याहवेह को मान्यता देना, वह तुम्हारे मार्गों में तुम्हें स्मरण करेंगे.
7 Be not wise in thine owne eyes: but feare the Lord, and depart from euill.
अपनी ही दृष्टि में स्वयं को बुद्धिमान न मानना; याहवेह के प्रति भय मानना, और बुराई से अलग रहना.
8 So health shalbe vnto thy nauel, and marowe vnto thy bones.
इससे तुम्हारी देह पुष्ट और तुम्हारी अस्थियां सशक्त बनी रहेंगी.
9 Honour the Lord with thy riches, and with the first fruites of all thine increase.
अपनी संपत्ति के द्वारा, अपनी उपज के प्रथम उपज के द्वारा याहवेह का सम्मान करना;
10 So shall thy barnes be filled with abundance, and thy presses shall burst with newe wine.
तब तुम्हारे भंडार विपुलता से भर जाएंगे, और तुम्हारे कुंडों में द्राक्षारस छलकता रहेगा.
11 My sonne, refuse not the chastening of the Lord, neither be grieued with his correction.
मेरे पुत्र, याहवेह के अनुशासन का तिरस्कार न करना, और न उनकी डांट पर बुरा मानना,
12 For the Lord correcteth him, whome he loueth, euen as the father doeth the childe in whom he deliteth.
क्योंकि याहवेह उसे ही डांटते हैं, जिससे उन्हें प्रेम होता है, उसी पुत्र के जैसे, जिससे पिता प्रेम करता है.
13 Blessed is the man that findeth wisedome, and the man that getteth vnderstanding.
धन्य है वह, जिसने ज्ञान प्राप्त कर ली है, और वह, जिसने समझ को अपना लिया है,
14 For the marchandise thereof is better then the marchandise of siluer, and the gaine thereof is better then golde.
क्योंकि इससे प्राप्त बुद्धि, चांदी से प्राप्त बुद्धि से सर्वोत्तम होती है और उससे प्राप्त लाभ विशुद्ध स्वर्ण से उत्तम.
15 It is more precious then pearles: and all things that thou canst desire, are not to be compared vnto her.
ज्ञान रत्नों से कहीं अधिक मूल्यवान है; आपकी लालसा की किसी भी वस्तु से उसकी तुलना नहीं की जा सकती.
16 Length of dayes is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory.
अपने दायें हाथ में वह दीर्घायु थामे हुए है; और बायें हाथ में समृद्धि और प्रतिष्ठा.
17 Her wayes are wayes of pleasure, and all her pathes prosperitie.
उसके मार्ग आनन्द-दायक मार्ग हैं, और उसके सभी मार्गों में शांति है.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay holde on her, and blessed is he that retaineth her.
जो उसे अपना लेते हैं, उनके लिए वह जीवन वृक्ष प्रमाणित होता है; जो उसे छोड़ते नहीं, वे धन्य होते हैं.
19 The Lord by wisdome hath layde the foundation of the earth, and hath stablished the heauens through vnderstanding.
याहवेह द्वारा ज्ञान में पृथ्वी की नींव रखी गई, बड़ी समझ के साथ उन्होंने आकाशमंडल की स्थापना की है;
20 By his knowledge the depthes are broken vp, and the cloudes droppe downe the dewe.
उनके ज्ञान के द्वारा ही महासागर में गहरे सोते फूट पड़े, और मेघों ने ओस वृष्टि प्रारंभ की.
21 My sonne, let not these things depart from thine eyes, but obserue wisdome, and counsell.
मेरे पुत्र इन्हें कभी ओझल न होने देना, विशुद्ध बुद्धि और निर्णय-बुद्धि;
22 So they shalbe life to thy soule, and grace vnto thy necke.
ये तुम्हारे प्राणों के लिए संजीवनी सिद्ध होंगे और तुम्हारे कण्ठ के लिए हार.
23 Then shalt thou walke safely by thy way: and thy foote shall not stumble.
तब तुम सुरक्षा में अपने मार्ग में आगे बढ़ते जाओगे, और तुम्हारे पांवों में कभी ठोकर न लगेगी.
24 If thou sleepest, thou shalt not bee afraide, and when thou sleepest, thy sleepe shalbe sweete.
जब तुम बिछौने पर जाओगे तो निर्भय रहोगे; नींद तुम्हें आएगी और वह नींद सुखद नींद होगी.
25 Thou shalt not feare for any sudden feare, neither for the destruction of the wicked, when it commeth.
मेरे पुत्र, अचानक आनेवाले आतंक अथवा दुर्जनों पर टूट पड़ी विपत्ति को देख भयभीत न हो जाना,
26 For the Lord shall be for thine assurance, and shall preserue thy foote from taking.
क्योंकि तुम्हारी सुरक्षा याहवेह में होगी, वही तुम्हारे पैर को फंदे में फंसने से बचा लेंगे.
27 Withhold not the good from the owners thereof, though there be power in thine hand to doe it.
यदि तुममें भला करने की शक्ति है और किसी को इसकी आवश्यकता है, तो भला करने में आनाकानी न करना.
28 Say not vnto thy neighbour, Go and come againe, and to morow wil I giue thee, if thou now haue it.
यदि तुम्हारे पास कुछ है, जिसकी तुम्हारे पड़ोसी को आवश्यकता है, तो उससे यह न कहना, “अभी जाओ, फिर आना; कल यह मैं तुम्हें दे दूंगा.”
29 Intend none hurt against thy neighbour, seeing he doeth dwell without feare by thee.
अपने पड़ोसी के विरुद्ध बुरी युक्ति की योजना न बांधना, तुम पर विश्वास करते हुए उसने तुम्हारे पड़ोस में रहना उपयुक्त समझा है.
30 Striue not with a man causelesse, when he hath done thee no harme.
यदि किसी ने तुम्हारा कोई नुकसान नहीं किया है, तो उसके साथ अकारण झगड़ा प्रारंभ न करना.
31 Bee not enuious for the wicked man, neither chuse any of his wayes.
न तो हिंसक व्यक्ति से ईर्ष्या करो और न उसकी जीवनशैली को अपनाओ.
32 For the frowarde is abomination vnto the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.
कुटिल व्यक्ति याहवेह के लिए घृणास्पद है किंतु धर्मी उनके विश्वासपात्र हैं.
33 The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.
दुष्ट का परिवार याहवेह द्वारा शापित होता है, किंतु धर्मी के घर पर उनकी कृपादृष्टि बनी रहती है.
34 With the scornefull he scorneth, but hee giueth grace vnto the humble.
वह स्वयं ठट्ठा करनेवालों का उपहास करते हैं किंतु दीन जन उनके अनुग्रह के पात्र होते हैं.
35 The wise shall inherite glorie: but fooles dishonour, though they be exalted.
ज्ञानमान लोग सम्मान पाएंगे, किंतु मूर्ख लज्जित होते जाएंगे.
